The sun was shining bright in the sky; the wind held a slight chill but it was just the last remnants of winter as spring slowly approached to cover the land in new flowers and life. There was not a single cloud in the blue world above, small specks of birds or winged soquili could be seen flying through the vast blue openness. Not for the first time did her heart long to be up there, soaring in the sky, but the only flying she would do was with her name, Aderyn yr Eira Duliisdi, Starling of the Nut Moon. Countless times she had told herself that she accepted her landlocked fate, but it was during a day like this when she desperately wished she had been blessed with her mother’s wings. So many adventures to be had in the sky and on the sea, which her sister was lucky enough to experience. Yes, Aderyn had parlayed with a pirate, hunted for ghosts, became the heroine in the fairy tale, and she was able to do all that without wings. The mare’s pep talk was working and her mood was rising. Today was a fantastic day and would be a great day to have an adventure. What to do? She could always search for the chupacabra, but did not have the slightest idea where to start with that quest. What should she do today?
