Where is it? This golden portal is shaped like a pair of interlocking human world wedding bands (or a peanut) and can be found at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. If you listen closely, you can hear a voice whisper MOOOOOOLD as you climb through.
What's Inside? You drop into a warm, dim space lit only by the candles slowly burning on the table across the room. A pair of plush bears—one white, the other pink—sit opposite one another, staring blissfully into each others' beady, plastic eyes. They look ready to eat, but there's no romantic dinner.
You turn, belatedly noticing a door that looks like it leads into a full service kitchen.
What Do I Do? Try to leave:
You can't. It seems there's no way out.
Manhandle the bears:
They're quite sturdy. Their skin doesn't rip when you claw at them or stab them. They don't speak to you when addressed either. They just stare at each other and occasionally slowly raise a hand to their mouths and point.
Serve the bears:

Maddie was frowning and staring at the floating abomination, raising a claw to poke at it. Was it... food? It kinda looked like that human nut that was called something like a "peanut"? It looked like a peanut. Were peanuts good? She had heard sometimes human scarelings had developed a weakness for this, and upon consumption would have their heads explode. Pity she wouldn't see something like that here. That, and, she doubted any human scareling could fit such a thing in their mouth.
Still, this thing was just... THERE, and she was pretty sure it wasn't there before during the times she had frequented the Forbidden Forest. Maybe it was due to the thing called "Scarentines" gracing the school. So weird.

Chase had thus far been amused by the strange things showing up around campus. He had not, of course, ventured through anything, but he was making the rounds to look at things. The rumors made them sound fantastic. And so far, they had seemed they might be. The wendigo just wasn't sure that he wanted to go through one. Yet.
"Oh," he said out loud in surprise, seeing that he recognized a particular person poking around the portal by the forest, "Hello, strange bear."
The little bear ghoul. That wasn't a bear. Right. Not a real bear. He would have to remember that. But maybe she could answer a very important question of his - what was beyond these strange portals?
"Have you seen what's on the other side?"

She lifted her head at the voice, and her expression turned to a scrutinizing one to one that seemed to have just hatched a brilliant idea. "Oh! Mutant deer. Good timing." At his question, she only huffed and crossed her arms. "No, not yet. It's been saying 'MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD' for the past 3 hours and it's kinda unsettling." The bigger question was why she had been standing there for three hours.
"BUT, I'm sure you can answer that question yourself!" She walked over to him, gave him a lopsided grin, took one of his arms, dragged him towards the portal, and... pushed him in.

Chase exhaled very slowly. His ear twitched.
"It talks?" He looked from the portal and then back to the strange bear. He...realized that he did not recall her name.
He was puzzling over things- Why did the thing say 'mold'? Why had she been here so long? What was her name? -when she took hold of him. "Myself?"
Oh. OH. He understood what she meant about the time she pushed. He'd not been expecting it...especially not from one so short. Silly bear. That wasn't very polite.
One clawed hand wrapped around the ear of her hoodie (it was the right height for grabbing). Now, whether he was trying to catch himself or drag her with him was open to debate. Either way, she would be joining him on the other side of the portal.

Haha, dumb deer. He- She had not been expecting him to pull her through also, so when the claw snatched at her hood, her eyes widened, and she tried to pull away, but to no avail. He WAS bigger and stronger for that matter, so she ended up tumbling in herself.

He landed with far less grace than he would like to admit, climbing back up to his hooves as quick as could be. "Hmm."
A dark room. That didn't really bother him, he was used to dimly lit nights in the woods. But the room was a little small for his tastes. And all it held was a table, some candles, and two bears. Two...toy bears.
He turned to his companion. "Is this your house?"

Grace was definitely not Maddie's forte either, as she ended up landing on her face. There was some muffled grumbling and cursing, but she managed to push herself to her feet and dust herself off. "That was mean. I could have hurt myself." Nevermind the fact that she pushed him in first.
Though, she supposed the more important matter was WHERE they were, and if they could leave. It seemed the portal behind them was gone, replaced wig some door. A door that seemed to lead to something very familiar...
At Chase's comment though, she turned around and gave him a swift kick. Are you dumb? Of course not.

Chase let out a breath in a snort. She could have hurt him. Going headfirst into unknown places was not a good idea. Bears. Ugh.
"Ow!" He hissed at her kick. "I am not dumb." He glanced back at the sitting bears. "Are they relatives of yours, then? Did you not say you were a toy bear?" Certainly all toy bears were related. Never mind...this wasn't even Halloween. That detail was lost on Chase, it seemed.

She was going to maul this moron. "OH MY JACK you are so dumb. Maybe they're related to YOU because you're all dumb." She huffed, stomping over to one of the bears. "Hey you! How do I get out of here?" Of course, she couldn't really expect them to reply, but got mad nonetheless when they didn't, and shoved one over. Or at least, tried to. Were they glued to the damn seat? She stabbed at the other, poking it, but nothing happen. Ugh what were these things MADE of?
The only reaction she got was when they both raised their paws to their mouths. Food? So dumb. Who heard of stuffed animals eating food? Never mind the fact that she was technically a stuffed animal herself.

Chase huffed, his feathers and his fur poofing with agitation. "You are a toy bear. They are toy bears. It makes sense." It totally did.
With a sigh, he watched one toy bear go about poking the other toy bears. Seriously. Them being related seemed like a plausible thing. Chase didn't know why Bearghoul thought that made him dumb.
"Hhmmm." His attention was caught by the movement of the bears. Pointing to their mouths? The universal sign for 'feed me'. Chase was familiar with being hungry. He was usually hungry.
"What do toy bears eat?" He felt like he should know the answer to this question.

To his question, Maddie turned around and gave him an innocent smile. "Why, mutant deer of course! Didn't you know that?" She took a step towards him, two, still maintaining a somewhat mischievous smirk as she tilted her head. "The very first thing you do is break off the antlers. Wouldn't want those interfering with the meaty bits. Next is the head..." She made a decapitating motion with a paw as she continued to advance. "Of course, break the bones in the arms and legs, carve out the flesh and use the skeleton as decal. Poke the eyes out and remove the tongue, though I heard they can be quite savoury with a bit of sauce. As for the very last part..."
A claw was raised, and she poked at his chest while she licked her other claw. "Sautéing the heart is the very best, wouldn't you agree?"

Chase let out another long, musing, exhalation. He was basically snorting air into her face.
"I would not agree. Raw. The heart is best eaten raw and warm. Or braised. But sauteing is not." He flicked an ear. "And poking out the eyes is a terrible way to remove them. For best use they should be cooked in the skull, or at least scooped out whole."
He looked down at her with his slow, calm way. "Have you ever butchered anything before, Little Bear?"
That fact that he was supposedly a mutant deer was momentarily lost on him. Because he wasn't. They'd had this conversation and he was certain she would know that by now.

Maddie did not appreciate getting a face full of hot air and huffed back at him, though at her height, it probably didn't do much. Of course, leave it to Mr. Hades' Kitchen runner-up to show her up in cooking finesse. Show-off. "Of course I have! Why, let me show you!" She was grinning her little grin again as she grabbed his arm and all but dragged him towards the quaint little door behind them.

The little bear's huffing was noted, but only in the way someone notes minor things. Not because he shrugged it off, just because...he really didn't feel it.
"Oh?" He raised on eyebrow. "Yes, yes. Let's see what you can do." He followed her through the door without too much hesitation. If she was showing him how she could butcher that meant cooking. And food. He was rather peckish, he realized.
"A kitchen." He looked down at his bearfriend. "Do all toy bears only have two rooms in their home? Though," he drawled on, "a kitchen and a dining room would be the most important."
