It was unusual for Anguis to be out so far from the city, out from his hive even. He spent most of his days inside reading and often it was his twin who had to drag him out so he would do something besides the aforementioned activity. Yet here he was, tramping through this forest and trying to not get caught in the brambles as he took a look around. While he hadn’t entirely thought of actually leaving his hive when he mumbled his idea outloud, Dragondad had gotten wind of it and immediately decided they were going. So here Anguis was and while it wasn’t what he really wanted to do, he decided he was going to make the most of it. He could use it as a chance to buff up and get used to forest area, even if it did seem kind of dangerous. Dragondad would make sure he’d be okay though and at the moment he was curled around Anguis’ arm as he walked around, taking a look at all the plant life and even recording a bit about it in a notebook he had thought to bring along.

Weywot wasn’t doing anything as unusual as Anguis seemed to be doing. Instead, she was digging her way under areas she hadn’t been before because being in the dirt and dark were very comforting for her. She’d went to a blueblood dance recently and made an absolute fool of herself. Thus retreating to live like her badgermom taught her to was very comforting. She did, however, need to peek her head out and see where she was. From the kind of soil above her head, it was safe to say that it wasn’t under some sort of water thing. So she started making her tiny hole to look out of first before widening it when she was sure it didn’t seem to be dangerous.
After a bit of digging, she widened it enough to climb out of and grunted when she pulled herself up...and next to a tree. Okay so she was in a forest maybe? She frowned as she sat on the grass and crossed her arms over her chest. “....I have no idea where I am,” she said to herself.

Rounding another group of trees, Anguis took a glance around and was surprised to see another troll nearby. It wasn’t like he was following a set path, although then again he wasn’t very deep into the forest so he could have just stumbled upon someone else who had decided to walk. Nonetheless, he walked over, waving as he neared. It was always nice to talk to someone and it was a nice night out anyways and Dragondad didn’t seemed too bothered by the other troll. That, or he was napping on Anguis’ arm which wasn’t uncommon.
“Hello!” He offered, giving a grin. “I’m Anguis, who are you?”

Weywot managed to jump when she heard a sudden voice around her. She hadn’t even heard footsteps before the voice sounded. With a startled yelp, she almost bolted straight to drop into her hole again, but at the last minute, the blueblood managed to actually look at who was talking to her. Oh, it was just another kid. She couldn’t relax right away, but she took a calming breath and just tried to give her own version of a grin, teeth all janky and broken from bumping around in the dark. She was covered in dirt, probably producing dust clouds as she patted herself off to try to make herself presentable. That ball had taught her that she needed to work on that.
“U-uh.. I’m WEYWOT.” She got really loud introducing herself and winced before ducking her head a bit more. “SORRY.” And she’s couldn’t quiet herself down.

Anguis winced himself at the volume, but still kept his smile. Alright, she was a little loud, nothing he wasn’t used to with Forera. It did catch him by surprise though, but he could get used to it. The grin unsettled him a little, but he continued onward, determined to continue the conversation. He was going to talk to someone besides his twin and his lusus for once, that was certain! In any case, she seemed nice if just loud.
“It’s alright,” He said, taking a closer look at Weywot. She looked like she was covered in dirt, although that wasn’t anything too terribly bad, he had come home covered in worse. He was interested in the hole near her though, did she come through that? It would explain the dirt. “Did you make that hole?” He asked, indicating to the only one around while taking an uncertain step closer.

Well at least he didn’t seem offended at her screaming. She just rubbed her neck slowly and flushed, skin picking up that bright blue of her blood. Then this troll mentioned her hole and she looked at it before bobbing her head sheepishly. Crawling over on her hands and knees, she jumped down and grabbed her shovel before throwing it out and then crawled out again. “Yes. Uh. BadgerMom and I… we sort of dig all sorts of tunnels?” She was trying so hard to keep her voice at one level. Weywot looked down to her nails, wincing to pull dirt out from underneath her so she could be somewhat presentable. It wasn’t working with the dirt in her hair, and on her horns and what not.
“UHM. BUT yes. That’s mine. Sorry if it’s somewhere near your HIVE?”

Oh, a shovel, that was how she made it. Anguis blinked, then frowned at his own thought. What did he think it was made with? Sheer force of will? Still, it was interesting, Weywot made tunnels everywhere? That he definitely wanted to know more about. Had she ever gone to Busthind mountains? No, the rock there was probably hard to dig through. Same for Chittentown, unless maybe there was some softer dirt under all the sand. He hadn’t really been there to inspect the ground and didn’t really want to, to be entirely honest. He was snapped out of his thoughts though, with a question.
“Oh, no. I don’t live here! This is just a forest I came walking through tonight. Decided to catalogue the plants and stuff and uh..” Anguis blushed a little, realizing how nerdy it sounded. “I tend to stay inside and read a lot. How far have you gone, with your tunnels?” He asked, trying to get off the topic of his reading. It sounded a little lame, compared to a lot of other things he could do.

“Uhm.” She thought about how far she’d went and just shrugged. She had been digging a lot, basically since she grew out of her grub size, so she’d gone pretty far with BadgerMom. Weywot just shrugged again and looked a bit helpless, lips quirking up into an awkward smile. “I don’t know? We dig new tunnels a lot, but we go… down tunnels we dig to dig new ones so maybe not as far as you might think?” She scratched her head a little bit, dirt dropping down to her shoulders and down to her feet, the black coming through a bit more.
“So you… like plants?” She hated trees because of the roots, but she guessed other plants were okay. Weywot didn’t know any of the actual names for anything but ‘tree’ and ‘grass’. That was basically it. “That’s… That’s interesting. I don’t really know specific names.” He was a lot smarter than her, but it wasn’t hard when she spent all her time in the dark underground.

Oh, that was a little disappointing, she didn’t really know. Then again, when you spent a bunch of time underground, you probably didn’t know, Anguis figured. But she had a network set up it seemed, maybe she was closer to places than he knew? Well, he wouldn’t really know unless he found them, huh. “Maybe not,” He agreed, “But you never know. I might see you pop up nearby sometime.” He smiled, then took a look around at the foliage around him. The notebook had been tucked under his arm upon seeing Weywot, the pencil tucked behind his ear, but he perked up at the question.
“Well, a little. I think they’re interesting and it’s nice to know, I guess. I like learning.” He added, Dragondad shifting on his arm and Anguis took a glance at his lusus before opening the notebook he had been writing and drawing on to show Weywot. “I know a few, I kind of drew them with the names to remember them later.” He said, offering the book to her. He wasn’t bothered by the dirt that much, although it was a little more than he was used to.

Her eyes flitted to DragonDad before tilting her head a little at him. DragonDad was cute but she wasn’t sure if it was actually nice to say that, so she just picked that moment to give him an awkward smile before looking back at the other troll. The pencil behind his ear was odd, but she had rock behind hers most of the time.
“Oh.. I used to do that with certain rocks,” she said, nodding. Her arms crossed over her chest as she thought back before actually letting out a laugh. “Soon you won’t need that and you can just identify by look only. Or feel. Maybe smell. Some plant roots are smelly.” She wrinkled her nose at that and then scoffed. She hated smelly plant roots, or the really thick and green ones. “They’re really… Weird. ..Plants..” She was bad at this conversation thing wasn’t she? At least she wasn’t screaming now.

“You did it with rocks?” He asked, smiling a little brighter. “That’s really cool, I don’t really know much about rocks. I hope I get better at recognizing them, it’s useful.” He blinked at the plant roots for a moment, then realized that since she dug tunnels she saw them. “Oh yeah some of them are.” He agreed, then went quiet for a moment. “Sorry, I bet talking about plants is a little boring. So what do you like? Rocks? Since you mentioned them.”

Weywot brought a hand up to rub at her nose, feeling it itching and possibly smearing dirt on her lips and face in the process. What did she like? That was a question, wasn’t it? “...I like digging. Uh.. I like..Moving.” She enjoyed telling jokes, but her jokes weren’t appropriate for her age, according to BadgerMom. Nope, she had very mature jokes that were gross. She liked sitting around in warm dirt without a shirt on but she had a feeling that wasn’t something she could actually say out loud. “....Uhm. I don’t have a lot of hobbies,” Weywot answered, brows knitting. “I went to this blueblood ball once.” She got her toes stepped on. But just talking about the ball made her feel really awkward. “UH. I DANCED THERE.” She winced gain at her loud voice and then just kicked at some grass. Oops.

Dancing? He had never danced, well never danced in a ball at least, but he was curious to what it was like and wanted to try. Although not if it was anything like Forera did, although then again his twin usually tended to defy everything in her actions. Common sense was one of the many things she defied, although he’d do anything for her despite his complaints. Speaking of which, she was around here somewhere, tagging along with the explanation that she was bored but she had run far ahead of Anguis and he had no clue where the older troll was. He didn’t really care though, since she was bound to ruin everything.
“You can always pick some up, hobbies are never limited. Besides, I think the digging is cool. How was the ball though? I’ve never gone to one.” The last part was said somewhat wistfully, although he tried to keep it out of his expression. It did sound nice, even if he was clueless about the dancing. He couldn’t imagine all the blue bloods in one place though, it sounded so weird.

“Boring,” she answered his question blunt and honest. She sighed and just kind of looked upwards, squinting hard. “Really boring. There’s this one troll who stepped on my foot on purpose..” He was lower rank than Weywot so she should have done something about it, but it was so sudden and honestly, she didn’t expect Lunear to do that, so what could she do? She didn’t know how to ‘punish’ or get even with someone. “...Other than that it was a bunch of blue bloods standing there looking…”
The word was escaping her right now. “Snooty?” Was that the right word? She squinted at herself and then shrugged before looking towards her hole again. She should probably get back soon. Her BadgerMom would be waiting for her. Shifting a bit towards her hole, Weywot looked at the other and just gave a sheepish look. “So… I should.. probably get going…?” Maybe? Weywot wasn’t even sure.

“Oh…” He said, a little disappointed. “Well, if you go to another maybe it’ll be better? If I was there I’d try to not step on your foot at least.” Anguis gave a little chuckle, although he knew he would probably never be in position to do that. But it was a nice thought at least, right? Weywot was really nice anyways and deserved a better partner than that.
He laughed at the idea of them all standing around though. “Yes, snooty is right. That does sound like what it’d be like, although you’re really nice. Like, you’re not snotty at all,” He clarified, looking a little embarrassed as he hoped that didn’t sound bad. “Oh! Uh-” He paused mid-sentence as he heard Forera call his name from somewhere nearby. “I need to get going myself. I’ll uh.. see you around? I guess,” He smiled awkwardly.
