The winter chill was still in full effect, but she had no time for that. Daisy-May Shaw had to go to the feed store and get a long, huge list of things for her parents. It was early morning, and she was now in her dad's pick-up truck because there was several bags of things to get. She opted out of taking a sibling with her because there would be fighting and honestly? Daisy wanted to get this done quickly so she could get to school.

She entered the feed store in her school uniform but with boots on instead of the normal flats. Those were in the truck.

Braided pigtails rested on her shoulders as she looked the list over and moved down the isles, grabbing gardening equipment, horse grooming things, medications and who knew what else. "God," she muttered to herself through a yawn. "I need coffee..."

William stood in the early morning, clad in his HITS uniform, a large bag of cat food on his shoulder and a few supplies tucked under his arm that he intended to take home to his mother on the weekend when he went home to visit. He desperately missed the farm and his family.

The mutter of needing coffee made him look up over the shelf he was standing in front of to see a young woman with blonde pigtails standing in another aisle with her back to him.

"I think there is a coffee shop a few blocks down," he suggested softly. He knew these early morning could be murder even if you were use to them. Spending his whole life on a farm until just recently meant he was usually up before the sun. Finishing his senior year in the city meant attempting to adjust to a different schedule, but it wasn't really working.

The six foot tall boy gave a small slightly nervous smile.

If it wasn't for the fact she knew others were here, that would probably have startled her. The blonde girl swung around to look at the tall boy who seemed to hover over all the aisles and just blinked. Okay, she thought she was pretty tall at 5'6'' for a girl, but apparently not. Oh well. She just gave him a warm grin and a nod. "Yeah I know it. Just.. Ugh, out on errands for the parents before work." Honestly it was a surprise to see another her age here.

"What's got you here so early?" She walked around to see what he had tucked away, ever curious and just hummed. Cat food? Well she could... Glancing down at her list, she saw she needed it too and just sighed. "So cats, eh? I have like ten. They all live outside, but Jesus, how they eat."

William nodded, "I've found myself doing errands since I obtained a license. My brother's are very happy to pass the duty on to me. It means none of them half to get up earlier than they want. Not that the crack of dawn isnt insanely early anyway."

He shifted slightly as she walked around to him, "getting cat food and some supplies for the farm. My roommate has three cats and we are both very busy with school, so getting the biggest bag is the best idea."

He gave a small laugh at the mention of 10 cats and them eating a lot. I don't have a lot of cats. We don't really have too many animals? My dad likes useful animals he says,] ... cows, pigs, chicken, and sheep. I have a border collie though."

He looked at the list in her hand briefly, "thats a nice little list there. Need a hand?"

She listened as he said he didn't do animals, but they hard a farm. A snort sounded and Daisy just grinned a little bit. As much as she'd love to say she didn't understand that, she did. If it were up to her there would be zero cats at the ranch. She was much more of a dog person. "Well," she said, glancing at her list and then nodded. "Yeah. Everything's been paid for, I just have to.. load it up in the truck." She pointed to the old clunker outside with peeling blue paint and rusted parts. It was a stick, and old as dirt, but it still ran smoothly.

"Cat food, brushes, god knows what else," she muttered to herself, puffing out. She blew at her bangs before pushing them around and then grinned. "You can get the heavy stuff."

William nodded, "let me just put these things in my car and I'll come get your heavy things for you." He headed for the register and paid quickly, before shuffling to his car and returning to where the heavy things were.

"I'm William, its nice to meet you," he said while he went to pick up a few things to load into her truck. "I've only just moved around here, to finish out my senior year and start college. Just started at HITS. It was a nightmare getting in. What about you?"

He easily hefted the things and carried them over to the truck. This was nothing out of the usual for him. Just another typical morning, only he was carrying someone else's things.

"I'm Daisy-May," she said, after his introduction. She was honestly in no hurry to get to school. As much as she loved her friends there, well, the lessons she could do with out. "Call me Daisy. As for school, I go to Sovereign Heights Preparatory. Lived in Destiny City all my life, just about. On the outskirts, obviously." She gave him a little grin and loaded the what she deemed as the accessories, though it was by the bag full.

"I give horseback ridin' lessons to some kids who wander around, but other than that, no real job aside from chores on the ranch. Thanks for the help. It'd have taken me forever, and then I'd be late." There was no ounce of upset in her voice as she said that, just a laugh.

"Where were you before?"

"I'm quite happy to help. It's a bit odd not doing these sorts of things every day of the week, but I wanted to come to school in the city, so its something I need to get use to.:

William laughed, "I'm surprised then that we havent met. I lived on a farm on the outskirts all my life. I am mostly just new to the actual urban and suburban parts of the city. My dad owns the Adams farm, it's the one with the 7 brother's."

He wasn't sure if that was any help, the outskirt and farmlands were pretty big, but he knew a lot of kids from the farmers market and when you lived on the outskirts unless you went to school in the city, other farm kids were what you had.

"Maybe you've finished in enough time for that coffee you were wanting?"

"Oh I'm not surprised we haven't met sooner, honestly. If I'm not at the ranch, I'm at school. If I'm not at school I'm probably at a friend's house." She just grinned a little as they loaded up the very last thing into the back of that old, beat up truck. It groaned and squeaked, rust fell down to the cement of the parking lot, and it drew a blush of embarrassment from the blond. "I don't... This isn't my truck. I drive a nice car."

Like he would care. She mentally rolled her eyes at herself and just blinked at the next question.

What time was it? She pulled her phone out of her uniform pocket and thought. It would take a bit to get back home, and by that time she'd need to haul a**. "There's ...not much time to get coffee now, but if you want, after school I literally always need coffee to stop me from sleeping at the wheel. Here. Put yourself in my phone and I'll text you?"

"Makes sense ," he said softly, "I was homeschooled all my life until my senior year and only in the second half, but since the school continues past the 12th grade it matter very little. So I wouldn't have met if you don't spend a lot of time in the rurals."

He placed a hand on the truck as it groaned and squeak, he didn't notice her blush or embarrassment, instead at her statement he looked more closely at the truck. "It's a fine enough truck, nothing a little elbow grease and some love can't cure. Older models are built tough to last. I can imagine though that a young lady would not want to drive an old truck to school."

He smiled and stretched while she grabbed her phone. She declined coffee, but suggested after school and handed him her cell for his number. He entered it in and handed her phone back to her. "Coffee after school would be nice, I would like that. See you around Daisy."

He headed off to his own car, he had a little time to spare, but he never minded getting to school early. That big building was never dull for him. He was rarely ever in such large places.
