Personality: Cheerful and more than a little rough-and-tumble, Sable is a lively teen who is just excited to be going on an adventure. Often times that excitement means she's easily distracted by whatever new thing comes along, but when she really gets into something she can sometimes manage to dig in and focus. Since that doesn't happen as often as anyone would like, least of all herself, she tends to come across as stubborn about the things she does focus on. When coupled with her youthful curiosity, that can get her into trouble, especially when she doubles down on the stubbornness and overconfidence kicks in. But overall she's a well-meaning kid that just wants to enjoy herself.
History: Born and raised in Pyrite Town, Sable lived comfortably with her parents. Her father Hardy used to work in the mines back while Pyrite was still a booming mining town. Eventually the mines dried up though, and with it so did the work. He still manages to keep himself busy, him and his pokemon helping with the heavy lifting or starting up the old truck now and again, but none of his gigs tend to last more than a year or two at most. As for Sable's mother Beryl, she was the site manager of the mine her eventual husband worked at while it was still active. Technically she still is, but with the the ore long dried up and - in more recent years - many of the mines filled in she's worked to repurpose the few remaining and stable open shafts and defunct processing plant into a museum so her position's changed accordingly.
Given Pyrite hosts a colosseum and Duel Square being a popular gathering point for trainers, it's no surprise that Sable took an interest in being a pokemon trainer early. Even more so when her father got her a rotom for her tenth birthday to give her a partner so she wouldn't feel left out. Beryl wasn't nearly as supportive of the idea though, and while she tolerated Sable's curiosity early on, as the girl got older her mother started pushing that she should focus more on learning about how their business worked. Not that Sable didn't have any interest in the mining business at all, but her mother was specifically pushing the business side which was a bit much for the young teen. Sable started finding any excuse she could to duck out of the house to get a break from the studying and lecturing, which usually had the result of getter her even more lectures on her behavior, and eventually stopped bothering with excuses altogether as the relationship between the two soured over the years.
One day, an interesting opportunity arose that put the deadlock between mother and daughter to an end, or at least on hold. One of Sable's more distant uncles in another region had gotten himself involved in a few business deals, and while the details were too complicated for the teen the bottom line was simple enough: They had been assigned an "artificial pokemon" and were supposed to showcase its unique feature by using it in a league challenge... Except said uncle wasn't a trainer by any means and had no intention to be one. Since the goal was to showcase the new pokemon as their team's ace from the start he couldn't ask his own kids, who were already making their way through their own league challenges, to take it on and simply make it their new ace. But as long as whoever had it was "someone associated with the company" and endorsed as such, it was likely his business partners would accept calling in a relative as long as they performed adequately. That way, Sable would both get to have her trainer adventure and also be helping out the company, and maybe even get a bit more attention to the Orre branch if she did well enough. It was a good enough plan to get her mother to relent and actually let Sable go on an adventure... They just had to agree on which league.

HP | 50/50 Status | Healthy Nature | Blurb Perceptive | Each time an attack, status affliction, or stat lowering move is used against this pokemon, it will have an additional 1/10 chance to miss the next time that move is used by the same pokemon, up until the move has an 8/10 chance to miss. If a super effective attack is used against this pokemon, it will have a 2/10 chance to miss instead of a 1/10 chance.
The moves do not have to be used consecutively for this ability to activate. This ability does not work on moves that are unaffected by accuracy and evasiveness, or moves that have a guaranteed hit (i.e. shock wave). Moves used after hit ensuring moves, such as Lock-On and Mind Reader, will not be dodged by a pokemon with Perceptive, however the move used will still have an additional chance to miss for each use. Moves that already have a chance to miss, such as OHKO moves, or moves that have an increased chance to miss after each consecutive use, such as hypnosis, are not affected by Perceptive.
When this pokemon is asleep, perceptive will not activate to help dodge incoming moves, and moves used during the duration of this pokemon’s sleep status will not gain a chance to miss. If accuracy or evasion have been altered, this ability’s chance to miss should be treated as is it's own roll, separate from accuracy or evasion rolls.
