Suhuba
Spring Showers
Prompt 1

Solo or RP Format
Can be used toward Solo or RP req

After the frigid chill of the harsh winter had left Tendaji, it seemed that most were happy to just return to their normal routines, though the normal routine didn’t seem to be what the weather had in mind. It wasn’t long before almost everywhere noticed the way that the winter air had seemed to push precipitation onto the land in its place. Rain flowed seemingly non-stop, reaching all the areas of Tendaji, even frozen Zena saw its share of rain, though the temperatures were still much too cold to support such a thing and rain turned to hail, which froze over the ground.

The critters of Tendaji only wanted to seek shelter from their flooded homes and the wet downpour that surrounded them. They found their way into homes, huts, sheds, anywhere that could stay dry - and preferrably warm.

Aminah unloaded the last bag of her things into Jerarda's home tree and looked down at her clothes. They were soaking wet. Aminah sighed. It had been raining like this for days now, and didn't seem like it was going to let up any time soon. It made the already dark forest floor even gloomier.

Aminah looked to Jerarda and smiled. "Even the weather can't stop me from moving in now." The room was still lined with her things. She hadn't even had time to put them away yet.

Jerarda had been busy while Animah was out, this new tree home was a bit rushed in the making and now with the rains she was paying for it. Using a special type of sap mixed with dirt she was patches places that were leaking water and causing little puddles to form. It was the alkidike way to co-exist with the tree's roots and make sure no harm came to them, but having their home flood would be down right embarrassing.

That and she didn't want her new mate's things to get wrecked. Looking to where Animah stood the water dripping off her hair and nose she finished with the patch job she was working on at the moment before grabbing a cloth and cleaning her hands as she approached her. "Well for that I should be thankful. With this rain we will be kept in close quarters." Jerarda purred as she came up to the girl and wrapped her strong arms around her. Leaning over to lick the droplet of water on the tip of her cute nose.

"Is that the last of it?" She inquired as she hadn't expected quite so much stuff.

Aminah felt her lover's arms wrap themselves around her and pull her in close, a blush rising to the surface of her cheeks at the intimate contact. She still wasn't used to the signs of affection, but she wasn't complaining. It sent a tingle down her body and she looked up to Jerarda.

"That's the last of it." She swallowed and grinned to Jerarda. "It's really not that much, is it? I gave a lot of it away before packing." She didn't really think she had that much with her, but she did insist on bringing her entire desk and its contents as well as the little knickknacks from her family. And Niro, her moracker, and Bay and Bon, her menk... She guessed the list just kind of kept going.

She leaned in a wrapped her own arms around Jerarda, making sure to rub some of the water onto her mate with a giggle. "I hope you don't mind helping me dry off."

Jerarda gave a short bark of a laugh at her new mates question, of course she didn't mind helping her dry off in fact she had many ideas on how to help her get dry and all of them naughty. But there was still the matter of helping her unpack and settling her in so she supposed her naughty thoughts would have to wait until things were more in order.

Giving Animah another hug she released her and then went to gather something to help dry the woman off. Looking over the stuff that Animah had brought into their new home she mentally adjusted where she would need to expand their home to accommodate the desk as well sleeping area's for her pets. It was a strange concept to her having pets, she had never had any herself but she didn't want Animah to have to choose between her or her little furry friends so she would put up with them.

The day was already getting late and the rain had yet to let up, the sound was soothing but it caused the alkidike to yawn. Stretching she motioned for Animah to head over to her,

"Are you dry yet? I think its time we slept we can worry about unpacking in the morning. If your not dry I can help you get dry in bed." She suggested with a smirk.

Aminah rubbed at her skin with the towel Jerarda brought her, though her clothes would just have to be air dried. She felt the heat rise in her cheeks at the tone of Jerarda's voice. But her own smirk flickered onto her face. "I don't think these clothes will dry anytime soon. I may have to just take them off and let you help me." Aminah winked to Jerarda and approached her mate with a devious look in her eyes before stripping her top off and closing the gap between her and Jerarda.

"I agree, we should get to bed." She traced a finger against Jerarda's stomach and let the Alkidike lead the way.

They had gone to bed, it was dark and Jerarda was happily snuggeled up with her chosen one against her side. Dragged out of sleep as she felt something brush against her arm she gave a groggy cuhckle wondering if Animah was up for more fooling around. The sensation was beginning to make her giggle, it felt odd like something or many somethings walking along her arm. What was Animah doing? Opening her eyes as she felt something looming over her face she gave a slow blink in confusion as a bug like creature was staring back at her. It took a moment for Jerarda to realize that...there were more skittering sounds coming from the bed room and that the presence of Animah was beside her not..on top. Bolting apright the poor creature that had been sitting on her was flung off and onto the floor where it landed on her back, much to Jera's shock as she looked around she was greeted by..many many more eyes...looking at her and seeming quite content with their location.

"Animah.." She managed to croak as she noted another one beginning to crawl on her lover and she punched the thing off. "Animah! Wake up! We..have...guests..”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aminah was more than sound asleep. She had always been a heavy sleeper, and the company of her moracker Niro had her used to the sounds and feeling of something small being next to her. But when she finally roused enough to hear Jerarda’s voice, she could hear the… almost sour tone of it. With a start she jolted up in bed and made eye contact with the creepy crawlies skittering around the room. “What are those?” She screeched out. Being surrounded by bugs was not something Aminah was comfortable with the say the least. “How did they get in here?” She moaned.

She clutched onto Jerarda’s hand, hoping for some support. She would like to think that normally she was level headed and would have dealt with this calmly, but the thought of them crawling on her while she had slept was enough to send shivers up and down her body. “Jerarda! Get them out.” She almost hissed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rubbing a hand against her check still trying to wake herself up fully she was more and more irritated as she mentally took count of how many of the bloody bugs were in their home. Too many she ...wasn't exactly sure how many there were. Glancing over at Animah who was now awake and looked very uncomfertable at this new development she squeezed her hand. "I am not sure...perhaps the heavy rains have forced them to see shelter some where dry...though it looks as if I need to make sure the doors and windows to our home are ...properly sealed when we close them. " She muttered with another squeeze before she rolled her neck and popped her shoulders. Moving she went to squat on the bed, her eyes scanning the room for the closest one before she lunged for it, scooping it up with both hands and having to avoid the clittering mandibles and flailing legs. They were pretty useless on their backs but they had the ability to flip themselves over...so she was going to have to literally pick up and throw each one of these creatures out of their home.
"Animah they won't hurt you..w.ell they could if you let them bite you but for the most part they are just a nuisence..." Jera stated in a fashion that betrayed her annoyance with the appearance of these creatures.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aminah watched as Jerarda got up from the bed and nodded slowly at her reasoning. Of course. The rain. It shouldn’t have been a surprise to get a few critters looking for dry ground… but did it have to be so many? Aminah flinched as Jerarda picked the first one up and held it out, the legs and mandibles flailing for its life. Aminah leaned forward in the bed, scooting closer to Jerarda. “You’re not going to hurt it are you?” She was honestly worried for the oversized bugs, though Jerarda would have a hard time persuading Aminah to pick one of them up as well.

She reached for her staff and climbed out of bed, watching her step and trying to keep a radius between her and the maglardilla. She poked one of the flying bugs with her staf and flipped it quickly belly up, watching it flail and panic with a cringe. She definitely didn’t want them hurt… just out of her home. She was momentarily feeling uneasy about moving into a tree. She wondered if this was something Jerarda dealt with a lot… and hoped not.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jerarda was struggling to avoid being hit by flailing limbs when Animah made such a small and heart rending request about not hurting the invading insects. Giving a small chuckle she shouldn't of been surprised that despite Animah's dislike of bugs she wouldn't want them hurt. "No I won't hurt them, just forecfully remove them from out home. These critters can become quite a pest if we just let them hang out...they'd start eating everything." Jerarda explained with a frown as she noticed one had already started on chewing on the bed. With a swift movement of her foot she caught it from the underside and flipped it over with a skittering sound of distress. "Come on before they decide this is the perfect place to live..”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aminah swallowed hard and looked at Jerarda already at a loss. She had said ‘Come on’, like Aminah was supposed to do something. She looked at all of the critters again, nibbling on their things and climbing along everything including the walls. She shivered and after a moment’s hesitation she followed Jerarda’s call.

She started flipping maglardilla over one by one, but when she noticed them starting to turn over before Jerarda could come back for it… well, she had a choice to make. She winced and reached out with fingertips, first pushing the shell and immediately recoiling when the limbs flailed harder. With a look of dread on her face she gingerly picked one up and held it out as far as she could. “Ohhhhhh…” She hopped from foot to foot, looking for where Jerarda was putting them. “Ahhhh! It’s moving! Jerarda. It’s moving. IT TOUCHED ME.” She screeched. The feet of the maglardilla she was holding managed to grasp onto her with its tiny little hooks for traction and Aminah flung the poor thing across the room, shaking her arms and trying to get the feeling of the bug off of her skin.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jerarda hadn't quite anticipated how much Animah would dislike handling the creatures, as she went about flipping them over she would take each one and hurrying it outside and back into the night air. Of course even as quickly as she was managing this some were flipping back over before she got a chance to get them. It was when she was trying to toss two outside she heard her mates terrified scream and she turned dashed back into the home. Wondering what had happened when she heard her lovers words. Giving a small chuckle she went to scatter a few that had decided Animah would be a great thing to climb and were heading in her direction before going to pick up two that were still flipped over. "They don't like water why not use your magic to try and force them to leave? Then you don't have to touch them." Jerarda suggested with two of the things flailing in her grasp.

Aminah blinked wide eyed to Jerarda. Water magic? She stared down at her staff and suddenly felt like an idiot. Of course, if they came in from the rain they obviously didn’t want to get wet.

She slumped her shoulders and sighed. Now it was almost trivial to get rid of them. Aminah used her water magic to push the clusters of maglardilla out of the house, while Jerarda used her hands to… Aminah swallowed… pick them up. She’s going to have to think of a way to get Jerarda to scrub her hands before she touched Aminah again. The thought of the creepy crawlies all over their house had her wanting to immediately clean everything as well. She shuddered and watched as the last of the maglardilla left their tree. “Is… is that all of them?” She asked her mate, hoping beyond all hope they wouldn’t find another one in the middle of the night.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the last one of the maglardilla were forcefully thrown out of their home she dusted her hands off in an job well done fashion before turning to then give a yawn. It had been in the middle of the night when this had happened, now that it had been dealt with she was more than eager to get back to bed and snuggling her lover. "I think we can call this dealt with? I will see about making a door that those things can't just go through in the morning, as well check the windows and vents just to make sure they are small enough to not allow them back inside..." Jerarda chuckeled as she went to give her Animah a kiss on the side of her head.
