This was it! Her first night out on patrol and Harmonia couldn't be more excited about the whole thing. Of course she had to wait until her parents had gone to bed. Thankfully neither of them were nights owls. She herself was usually fast asleep by this time but here excitement had done wonders to make sure that there was no chance of sleep happening. The cold of the night didn't bother Harmonia as she ran down a dark alleyway before jumping onto a fire escape and up onto the roof. She stood there and marveled at what was pretty much a new world for her. The moon's glow lit up the rooftops. Some were spattered with snow while others were fairly clear of the white stuff. With each roof she jumped to Harmonia took care to avoid any parts that looked slick. The last thing she wanted was to slip and hurt herself on ice on her very first night out. Despite her obvious enthusiasm everything seemed so surreal and Harmonia was having a bit of a hard time wrapping her head around what was all happening. This whole senshi thing was like a hero out of a fantasy novel. -She- was now apparently one of these fighters of justice who's main goal was to keep the bad guys from winning. It all seemed crazy but Harmonia could feel the well of excitement bubble up in her chest. This is going to be so much fun! It's like I am a super hero! She giggled to herself as she hopped from an office's roof onto a home. Harmonia vaguely wondered if the occupants could hear her but only a few steps later and she was already off onto another building. Harmonia hadn't really been paying attention to where she was going. The possibilities seemed endless with her new abilities and she eventually found herself near Crystal Academy. Oh. I think this is where Roslynn said she went. She vaguely recalled the girl from the museum mentioning that. Curious about the campus Harmonia made the decision to get a better look at it. Stopping on a building Harmonia looked at the school. The campus itself wasn't as big as her own but it definitely was more beautiful. Even with the blanket of snow on it it was quite obvious that this was a private academy. Maybe if I payed more attention to my studies I could have gone here. It didn't really matter though to her. A school was a school. With a sigh Harmonia put her hands on her hips and looked around at the other roof tops. "Alright. I am ready for something to happen now." As much as fun as exploring was Harmonia was set to see what else she could do.

There was a strange power signature on his patrol route, but it wasn't a knight, and it wasn't the kind that gave him the bad vibes like before. Corinth frowned a little and turned toward the strange source of power, making quick time along the rooftops that he'd come to learn almost intimately with the near constant patrolling with Dallol. Of course, now that they were an item again - patrolling was becoming more a trial of endurance to see how long he could take spending time with his girlfriend in her squire outfit and NOT ask her to find a corner to cuddle up in for "warmth." Shaking his head, he forced such thoughts away to focus at the task at hand. Landing on the rooftop that held the stranger, he cleared his throat. "Hello there," He slowly closed the distance between them, keeping a wary on eye on her. This must be one of those Senshi Faust had talked about. "I'm Corinth, Page of Neptune, and you are?"

Harmonia sensed the power signature heading her direction. It was a weird thing, to sense power signatures, but it also seemed pretty useful. Unfortunately, right now, it was only good as an indicator that someone was coming as she had no past references to base anything off of. The only thing she knew was that it didn't feel...wrong or bad? Oh well. She'd figure it out. The sound of someone off to her side caught Harmonia's attention and she looked over to see an older boy standing there looking unsure of her. It was that instant that she felt a bit unsure of herself as well and tugged at the skirt of her uniform. Here she was facing someone who, she assumed, was also a senshi. Of course the first person she had to have run into was a boy. Wait...a page? Is he not a senshi? "Hi." She smiled trying to ease her own uncertainty. "I'm...er...Harmonia, Senshi of Harmony." I need to get better at introductions. "Um, I am sorry, this may be a bit rude but what's a Page? Is that like the boy's version of a Senshi?" This is starting off great for me. I should be more assertive like my fantasy novel characters. Though that's kind of hard when I am so new at all of this.

"Oh, we're not senshi," Corinth chuckled softly, shaking his head. "We're knights - we're on the same side though, at least that's what Faust told me - he's one of those talking cats..."He had thrown him for a complete loop too. "I take it you're new?" It wasn't that he was calling her out on it or anything - but he figured it might be good to find out how much she actually had experienced. "I haven't been around for very long - but I know enough about what's going on to give you a bit of a primer - though I don't know anything about senshi to be honest."

"Oh! Well I am glad that we are allies!" She smiled broadly. I have so much to learn. At the mention of Faust Harmonia grinned. "Faust is the one who introduced me to all of this and yea, I am new. This is actually my first patrol." She smiled broadly as she spread her arms and looked out around her. "This is all so amazing and exciting!" She looked back at Corinth. "It's like being a magical hero in a fantasy book." "Oh! Yes, if you can tell me what has been happening that would be great! As fun as it is to wander the city like this I can imagine it gets boring without any excitement happening." At this point Harmonia had forgotten her awkwardness and uncertainty for the interest of the topic at hand. Right now she couldn't get enough information. She was just obsessed with this new job of hers and eager to really get to work and do good!

His face fell almost immediately when she mentioned the magical hero in the fantasy book thing. Everything else she said kind of washed over him in a dull roar of useless information. Shaking his head he could hear the tone in his voice change. "Don't think like that - it will get you killed." He knew he was sounding meaner than he should, but she needed to get this damn fool notion out of her head now. It would save her pain later. "This is a War. Not some silly kid's adventure book. Trust me, I ******** know..." He reflexively grasped at the center of his chest. He had died that day... he knew he had died. He had been lucky - he could have endured far worse... "My girlfriend... she's also a knight. I had to scoop up her battered and bloody body out of an alley and take her to the hospital after one of the enemy beat her till she was nearly dead. She was in a coma for days..." He clenched his fist then. "You give the enemy an inch, and they will kill you... I should know... I've already died once. I was with my girlfriend in our normal identities and they attacked her... I got in their way.. and they..." He could feel his voice cracking as he tried to push through the memory of the pain. "He reached inside my chest and... he pulled out my star-seed. That... That is the core of your being and if it's gone... or destroyed. That's it... you're done."He looked out over the city before he continued. "This isn't a gift or a kid's game. If anything it's a ******** curse and a s**t-ton of responsibility. We have to uphold the greater good. It's up to us to ensure our loved ones and the innocents of the city are safe."He turned and glared at her - even if there was no real malice behind it. "If you can't do that - save yourself the trouble... go home and never power up again."Kolina I AM SORRY THAT CORINTH IS A BUTT, BUT DYING DOES THAT

Harmonia took a step backward at the sudden shift in Corinth’s features. Everything he was saying to her just wasn’t computing in her brain. She had already built up this incredible fantasy about her new life as a senshi and this Knight was telling her it was anything but what she imagined. Usually the naive one to accept anything given to her, she was not swallowing this pill of reality. She wanted to hold onto the fantasy she had created for herself. The enemy didn’t even have a face yet to Harmonia. To her they were nothing but fantastical people whom she could only imagine what they looked like. The bitterness, pain and anger that Corinth was depicting to Harmonia was not something she could fathom and the more he spoke of the pains and near death experiences he had the less she could take. No. No! That’s not what this is!By his last words Harmonia had taken yet another step backwards and was shaking her head. “Stop. No! I don’t want to hear anymore!” Tears were forming in her eyes as she looked at him. “You sound so angry about all of it but if it’s so bad and terrible why do -you- keep powering up and coming out here? Why do you keep doing what you’re doing? You’re saying you want to save people but you don’t look at all happy or proud of that fact! Being a Senshi or a Knight has to be amazing because you’re doing good for people and I don’t want to hear anything else against that! Let me enjoy what I do!” By the time Chailee finished talking the tears that had welled in her eyes had already trailed down her cheeks.

s**t. He'd gone and made her cry. Well that was just great. Sighing, Corinth pinched the bridge of his nose for a moment, before placing his drum on the rooftop and shrugging off his jacket, moving over he draped it over Harmonia's shoulder and then ruffled her hair up with both hands. "Look..." He finally said. "I'm sorry I got all bitter about it. The truth is it's not easy - and people get hurt, I'm not going to sugar coat it for you. You want that you're gonna have to find someone willing to lie to you - or just doesn't know any better.""But," he continued, raising a hand to stave off any potential protest. "I think I owe you an explanation as to why, even as bitter as I am, that I continue to come out here and power up."He took a moment, trying to think of the best way to really explain it to her - then decided he'd just talk to her like he would have Rosy - she was about the same age, give-or-take by the looks of things. The Glamor made it hard to tell sometimes. "I thought a lot like you did when I started out... Almost dying fixed that for me quick. Watching my girlfriend get really hurt hammered home just how awful our enemy is. They... don't care. They don't. I've seen them attack kids. I mean children, like - younger than you.""I power up every day because if I don't, that's one less person out here to stop them." He said with firm conviction. "Because we are the only thing standing between their evil and everything we hold dear. We are the Aurors, the Night Watch, the Heroes."He tapped her nose with his index fingers - a platonic gesture generally reserved for use by older siblings on their younger. "I said what I did, because I don't want to see you get hurt. I don't want to see anyone get hurt. As much as this seems like a game - it's not. It's war and it's ugly and its nasty and terrible. But we have to do it because if we don't - who will?"He ruffled her hair again and took a step away from her, letting her keep the coat for now. "Like I said - it's a hot topic for me cause I'm a bitter old man. You're still young - try to keep that innocence as long as you can."

Wiping away her tears she hadn’t been expecting the kind gesture for Corinth. With the picture he had just painted her she had quickly assumed he didn’t have much care for another persons feelings. She stared at him after her put his jacket on her shoulders and ruffled her hair, not even caring that he probably had messed up her curls. It made her feel...unsure. Maybe there’s more to him than I thought? And then he explained to her his thoughts and feelings on the matter in a tone she could understand. She didn’t feel attacked or the need to be defensive, she just listened to his words. It was still hard to completely believe. After all, she was new to all of this and really, as an avid reader who uses books to escape the real world, it’s no wonder that she looked upon this senshi business as another way to escape mundane life. She wanted excitement and adventure and Faust gave that to her. But maybe she didn’t fully realize what she had gotten herself into? Unfortunately for her and Corinth his words would only strike so deep. It’s hard to push out a strongly fed desire from the heart even if it was not something that should be nurtured. A chuckle escaped Harmonia at the obvious reference to a few books. So he really is a bit like me I guess. When he tapped her nose she opened her eyes wide in surprise. It was a gesture she wasn’t use to having been raised as an only child. It was odd how the gesture just seemed to platonic and innocent but at the same time comforting. “I wouldn’t say you’re an old man. Bitter, yes, but not old.” She smiled. “I may not see what you see and that’s probably from experience.” She paused as her hands clutched the collar of the coat. “but I’ll definitely keep all of this in mind. It’s just...difficult to take all of that in. I’ve not seen the face of our enemy yet and so it’s hard to make all of this seem real and...dangerous.” “I am glad you didn’t sugar coat anything for me.” But it’s hard to silence that child-like voice in my heart that wants this to be more than you described.

"I really hope you never do - you're a cute girl and I would hate to think what some of those sickos would contemplate doing to you..." Corinth made a face and shuddered. His comment had been completely platonic. She was cute but in that chubby-cheeked child way. At least to his older brother vision. If Dallol was a goddess in his eyes, Harmonia was at least a cherub, or an angel. She'd make some boy stupidly happy if she ever managed to make it through this unscathed, or even if she didn't. Some guys liked scars. Mental and physical. "It sounds like to me that Faust didn't give you the whole run down... I don't think that was his fault though I'm sure there are things that he is not aware of."But he did want to kick that cat the next time he saw him if he was awakening senshi and not warning them of the s**t they were diving into.

"Oh no! Faust told me a lot. He just, uh...didn't go into it as much as you did. I mean..." She let out a breath. "He didn't seem to have the experience in all of this like you have had." She shrugged. "It wasn't like I would have told him no anyway even if he had told me everything." She smiled a bit as she thought about Faust and how she had reacted to him. "I really didn't ask too many questions either. It was more of 'Yes I'll do this' and only then did I ask a few things." She shrugged. "My excitement over meeting a talking cat and being gifted this ability to be well...as cliche as it sounds, a magical girl were just too extreme at that point to really think about what I could be getting myself into." Harmonia clung to the jacket for a moment or two more before walking towards Corinth and slipping the jacket from her shoulders to hand back to him. "Here. Sorry I cried and made you feel bad. I can be a little emotional at times." She smiled warmly as she passed him the coat. "But thank you. It was a nice gesture. You live up to your title as a Knight." Walking over to the edge of the building Harmonia looked out over the rooftops. "Say what you will about our plight, but, it's kind of amazing what we do and well...get to see." She gestured to the brightly lit city and the millions of roofs and skyscrapers that surrounded them nearby and in the distance. It was truly a unique view of Destiny City.

Corinth nodded, and taking back his jacket he chuckled and looked out over the city with her. "True, but it comes at a cost." He said quietly, moving away for a moment to pick up his drum again, before looking around the roof. Damn, there wasn't anything he could use, so he moved back to Harmonia and tapped her lightly on the shoulder. "Stay here for a second, I'll be right back."Then he turned and vaulted down to a lower building, then so on and so forth until he reached street level about a block away. Powering down in an alley, he slipped into a nearby convenience store, buying a notepad and a pen, he slid back out of the store and placed them on the ground before powering up again, then picked them back up and brought them to Harmonia. Writing down his cell phone number, he handed it to her. "Here, in case you want some company while you're on patrol.""I never hurts to have backup..."

Harmonia looked quizzical at Corinth as he jumped down from the building. "Wonder where he's going." Having the roof to herself for a minute or two allowed her to reflect on what she had learned tonight. Faust had given her a good over lay of what to expect and Corinth was giving her insight from a fighter's point of view. If she had spent some more time reading the guide on her phone she may have been a bit better prepared when she came out here tonight but was over all happy with the experience. She made a point though to vow to herself that she'd go home and put more effort into studying that guide. Ya know, after she finished with all of the current homework that she never wanted to do. And this is why I am in a public school and not Crystal AcademyHarmonia looked out over the campus. It's pretty and all but if I went to that school how would I ever find time to be a senshi and stay ahead of my studies. She wrinkled her nose at the thought of devoting all of her waking hours to work or some sort when she heard footsteps behind her. Turning Corinth was there again and he was writing something down before giving it to her. "Oh!" She replied enthusiastically. "Thank you! I'll make sure to save this." She blushed a bit. "Um, I'd give you mine but I don't have it memorized yet." She laughed more at herself than anything. "The next time we meet up I'll make sure to have it for you." She nodded. "So... Now do we just kinda of...wait here to see if anything happens? Are a lot of patrols as quiet as this?"

"Well if you like, you can run the rest of my route with me?" Corinth chuckled, nodding his head. "It's fine - about the number I mean, just text me when you get home and I'll put you in my phone." He smirked. "Just use your senshi name - we don't' need to trade civ ID's yet."He looked over at CA and shook his head. Naw, better to not bug the Desert Rose right now - she was probably resting up for god knows what sorta tests. He was so glad he was gonna be exempt from most of his finals he was sure. "But to answer your question, yeah it can be pretty quiet. I don't know if they're planning something big or what - but quiet can be good or bad."

Harmonia smiled and nodded. "Sure. That sounds like a plan! I am sure having company makes the night go quicker." "I'll make sure to text you then." She was excited to have someone she could lean on for help if she needed it. And he wasn't willing to push for her identity which was another thing she appreciated. Being new to this whole experience wasn't quite ready yet to expose herself to anyone. "I really hope that whatever their up to isn't too terrible." From what she heard though whatever the Negaverse was up to was likely to be something nasty. She had a partner now. Well, at least for tonight and someone she could call on should she want company. Knowing there was at least one other person at her back made her feel very good. Maybe we'll even become good friends over time. She smiled at that thought. "Well, let's get going!" She grinned. "I expect you to show me all the best places to patrol." Torvil For some reason I thought I had replied to this. Glad I checked it out before loging off for the night.
