It wasn't as startling to hear a Khehora speak as he thought it would be, but then again he'd been told that they were highly intelligent creatures. Miri found his gaze drifting over to the gray and white dragon, noticing that he'd only really noticed it because of the discoloration against the white of the snow. He dipped his head in greeting, shivering as a bit of wind found its way down the back of his thick jacket. Oh how he wished he was anywhere but there at the moment.
Miri chafed his hands together and refrained from blowing on them, knowing that the moisture in his breath would just freeze on his mittens and make it that much harder to keep warm. How he missed his home, with the fire and hot water. At the current rate he thought that he'd never get warm again and would have to become the first Firani dovaa to become inured to the cold.
He hummed in acknowledgement of her answers, "The influx of people are probably here for the dogs, both as research and hunting." He said as he pushed a tiny bit of magic into his core, even though he knew he really shouldn't. "Would you mind if I followed and watched? You're going to be hunting those dogs right? I'm here for research and I promise to not get in your way." He gave her a lopsided smile, "As is my survival rate is rather low if I continue out alone like I am. I'm not much of a fighter as you can probably tell."

Erionda opened her mouth to say something but closed it quickly. She really didn't have anything to say. She hadn't really expected his answer as an outcome. She narrowed her eyes and gave him a hard stare. Trying to piece together what his true intentions where.
She was having a hard time believing it was even possible for someone else to be so interested in studying new things not just herself. But then again it could help. Having someone else to see and confirm or possibly catch information she might have missed could prove useful. It caught her further off guard when a pure blooded Dovaa had strait out asked.
Lanzecki gave a snort before taking to the skies once again. Circling towards the pup hoping to catch it off guard.
"I'll circle from the left." Uassae spoke as he too took to the skies.
The hybrid turned her gaze to her companions silently then back towards the Dovaa. "They are a rare site here. I've not been able to study them much myself." Nodding she continued. "I'll let you tag along. But you've got be to ready to get out of the way if I tell you to. I'm not interested in having Dovaa blood on my hands." Her voice was low calm and collected as she spoke. Almost emotionless. Her hand grazed the hilt of her sword. "I hope you understand."

Miri watched as the gray Khehora took to the air, a brief pang of jealousy, he still had some very long years ahead of him before he could even dream of flight. "Don't worry too much about me, I fairly good at escaping danger." He of course failed to mention that he would sometimes run head long into more danger, trying to flee from the first one.
Slowly he made his way over to the hybrid and offered her a mittened hand, "It'll be a pleasure working with you, I'm Ismiril, and thank you in advance for taking care of me."

Erionda's own light pink feathered wings emerged from her back as she looked off towards her companions. Her magic burning within her as she stared out over the frozen desert. She would use the same trick she used so often in hunting. Her own snowflake like dome of ice. Extending her hand out as she prepared for the pup to run in her direction to evade the Khehora that would eventually flank it on both sides.
Pausing the hybrid turned to regard Miri. Caught off guard the Aiskala girl took a step back. Fear flickered across her face. No one had extended their hand to her unless they had other intentions. It just hadn't happened. There were only two people who had meant well in the past. "Sure..." Erionda replied. Looking him over suspiciously. "I'm sure you know who I am, guessing from the fact your a Firani and have been to Eowyn. I assume my face is still plastered in the posters there. Nonetheless I'm Erionda."
Hesitantly Erionda let her hand come out to meet his. A slight tremble in the way she held it out. She tried to play strong, play the part that she wasn't moved by anyone but it was starting to become obvious that a pureblooded Firani was intimidating her.
Grinding her teeth nervously Erionda turned towards the pup once again. It was yelping as Lanzecki and Uassae surprised it from behind.
"Now." Erionda called, shoving her fist deep into the ground. Her ice blue eye flashed. A gust of wind as cold air seeped from all around her. Moving towards the pup to create a cage around it. A dome like snowflake trapped the small animal within.
Pulling back to her feet Erionda's wings fluttered a moment before closing tightly against her back.

Miri tilted his head at her back, a puzzled look painted on his face. He should know her? While it was true that there were people with wanted posters Miri hadn't given them much thought. Besides the hybrid seemed nice enough, if a bit wary and brisque with him. But, he supposed, he would be to others if they were a wanted person. "Well met Erionda." He said once she'd dropped his hand, and eyed her pink wings. To him they were very pretty, and like most wings, probably fragile as well.
He wondered if she was cold, if the way her hand had shook in his light grip was anything to go by. It never once crossed his mind that she was intimidated by him. He, the firani with the broken horn and a fear of those larger than him.
The yelping of the puppy caught his attention, and he watched in awe as the two khehora herded it towards Erionda. He shuddered, teeth chattering as the cold air seeped from around the hybrid as she called upon her magic. He huddled down into himself until the last the magic faded away, the pup trapped in a cage made of ice.
He felt sorry for it, knowing how it must feel, and found himself hurrying on over to it. He gave the khehora a wide berth and knelt down next to the cage, making soft sounds as he wiggled his hand near the bars. The pup was young looking, all fluffy fur and round like a baby. There was a fear in its eyes that melted Miri's heart. He dug out some of the dried meat he had and held it out to the pup.
It took a while, but hunger eventually won over and the baby took it and tore into it. "I wonder how long it was separated from it's mother for." He murmured.

Erionda felt the air as Miri moved past her towards the cage with the pup. Shrugging she merely watched onward. Studying the way the Dovaa moved. A bit surprised he wasn't reacting to her like the others had. The hybrid had become used to fights, people wanting to kill her, people hating her, and even using and abandoning her. Her shoulders slumped as she looked onward. Perhaps that's what this was, just another purebred trying to use her to gain his own goal in Aisko.
It made her heart hurt, she yearned for the past, to start over. But there was no chance of that. All she could do was become stronger. She needed to abandon the heart within herself. Maybe then she could be free of the pain. For now though, she would use this opportunity to study the world around her. The pup in general. This was a good excuse to get out and study something new.
Lanzecki looked taken aback at the large width he had been given by Ismiril. Why was HE being avoided. He was loved, by everyone! First there was this new baby Khehora that Erionda had found in her travels a few weeks back and now this Dovaa who pretended he didn't exist. Or worse yet! Was doing everything he could to avoid him. Huffing Lanzecki's wings opened and closed as he tried to think what to do next. He wanted this strange Dovaa's attention. No one ignored HIM!
Uassae rolled his eyes at his 'brothers' actions. This was only going to lead to more trouble. The smell of meat assaulted his nose. While he was able to keep his own passions under control the same could not be said for the Ayrala Khehora.
Erionda caught the feelings of intentions across the bond. Her eyes shifted to Lanzecki as she moved like a feline, stalking towards it's prey. "That's enough of your attitude young one." Erionda called her focus on the Khehora. The question of meat, that grew into a demand echoed in her mind. "There is food at home. Only if the Dovaa... Ismiril... attacks. Only then can you set your claws. Until such a time you will back off."
Lanzecki huffed several times. Turning his head towards Erionda. Snarling as his hind legs thrust into the ground in a tantrum like manner. "He's the one who put distance between us. I'm not a monster."
The older Khehora snorted as he tried not to laugh. "You look like one right now."
Offended further Lanzecki's claws hooked as he rushed around the dome like cage towards Uassae. Leaping at him.
Erionda rolled her eyes as the two Khehora began their fight. She wasn't sure if saying anything was necessary. She wasn't going to give the chance for the Firani to see any weakness in her. Watching on she waited. Slowly lowering the barrier between the Dovaa and the pup.
"Ignore them, if it's tame enough not to run try to train it. See if it will follow. You have done this before haven't you?" Erionda folded her arms across her chest and took a step back preparing for him to attack just in case.

Miri looked confused as the khehorans started to squabble and then flinched, shuffiling closer to the cage as they started to fight. He squeezed his eyes shut and huddled down, trying to seem smaller, hoping that their bout of aggression would end soon. He bit his lip as Rio spoke up, and peeked at her, wondering if she would turn aggressive as well. He...he didn't do well with acts of violence.
"N-no I-I haven't." He stuttered, shivering. He knew he would have been twisting his fingers together had they not been bundled up like the rest of him. Swallowing he tugged off his mittens, and for the first time since he'd stepped foot onto the winter wasteland, he didn't react to the cold. With shaking hands he let the pup free, and watched as it tumbled out of cage. It didn't wander too far, not with the two fighting khehoras near.
In fact it huddled between Miri's legs, whining softly.

Erionda blinked three times as she watched Ismiril intently. There were things in the way he moved that made her calm down. To release the pet up magic she was storing in her. He was either very cold, or he was afraid of her bonded companions. She debated what to do. She didn't like watching others suffer in fear, but she didn't want to show weakness either. A conflict that battled inside her for some time before she stepped forward.
Waving her hands to shoo off the two Khehora, the hybrid watched as their squabble took to the skies. It felt like she had seen a similar moment like this before, but she shrugged it off. Her mismatched eyes settled on the male Dovaa and while she kept her distance Erionda's vulnerability warred within her. She didn't know what to do. She didn't know how to act. Or what to say. She struggled as a frown marred her face.
Memories of the construct monster and the cage he had kept her in flashed before her eyes. Shuddering fearfully Erionda turned so her face was hidden from view. "Did you get what you came for?"

Miri shivered, his fingers buried in the soft puppy fluff on the creature that hid between his legs. He could feel it shaking, and in a moment of pity, scooped it up to let it cuddle against him. A cold nose pressed against his throat, but the warm puffs of air kept him from feeling it. The sounds of fighting grew distant as the combatants took to the sky. He could feel the tension bleed out of him and he refrained from sighing in relief. He stood, arms wrapped around the puppy the was as long as his torso, but its squirming caused him to let it down.
The prompt attacking of his boots made him narrow his eyes and settle down for an impromptu training session. It was helped along by some tidbits of jerky and while Miri was sure the puppy would forget everything he just taught it, it was a start. It was only after the pup had started to behave that he realized that Rio had asked him a question.
"Oh, not really. I...I wasn't aiming to try and tame one. I just wanted to watch them in their native habitat..." He looked at her, eyes a bit worried. "I live in a place much warmer than here and I don't want it to get sick because of the climate." He rubbed the pups head, smiling as it leaned into his touch. He'd check for gender at a later date, when it was safer. Standing again Miri tugged his mittens back on.
"Would you mind working with me for a bit longer?"
