Harley was bored.
There was someone sleeping on the bench.
Suddenly, she felt a lot less bored.
Blue eyes probably sparkled with mischief as she made her way towards the unsuspecting man on the bench, and without any further warning, she sat on him as heavily as she could.
"Good morning!" She announced loudly, as if her sudden weight just didn't do the job properly. "Do you have some free time?" He had to. He was sleeping on a bench. Maybe his bed was broken? Either way. Bench equalled fair game.

At some point between reading the tale of Rincewind meeting Cohen the Barbarian Matt had fallen asleep on the bench his book resting on his chest and no concerns of any work for the day. His dreams where consisting of him wearing some oversized wizard hat while defending of hordes of zombies with a butterfly staff that turned everything into something undesirable cute. In truth for him it was more of a nightmare, and grew even worse when some behemoth of beast zombie showed up that once transformed turned into an oversize panda like stuffy that was pink and holding a cup of coffee. It teetered for a moment before falling forward, crushing Matt in the midsection. “OH GOD WHAT THE HELL!” He jolted awake as the unknown female landed on top of him. “Oh god… that hurt…what… yes… wait… who are you?” He looked at her with a deeply confused look plastered on his face, maybe he had been mistaken identity pranked. Enoh Love that is ok! Best wake up ever for him

Harley, grinning, stayed put as he flailed himself awake, and let out a delighted laugh at the clear confusion on his face. This poor man, he had no idea what he had accidentally gotten himself into, did he? She wondered if he would ever fall asleep in a public place again.
"Awesome!" She cheered to his (probably accidental) 'yes'. "Wanna spar with me?" She leaned over to look at him a little better, her bright eyes lidded with mirth...unfortunately for him, it meant she had to lean sideways on his stomach. As far as she was concerned, he was a human shaped addition to the bench itself. She couldn't get over the look of confusion though, it was just so cute on him.
"Name's Harley Kiddo! Most people call me 'Hattie', though." She introduced herself as pleasantly as she could, fishing out one of his hands to shake it for him, in case he was too baffled to remember how.

Matt just remained there still staring at her in all confusion as if trying to put some sort of non-existing pieces together as to why all of the sudden some cute girl was sitting on him as if he was the cushion of the bench. Tho it could have been worse, a lot worse. She could not be cute, and male, and weight over two hundred pounds of sheer muscle. Just the thought was regrettable. As she leaned over his muscles groaned over the extra weight, it was harder to breath and not in the fun she takes my breath away sort of feeling, again this could have been much much worse, thank god she was cute. “Yea.. nice to meet you Hattie, names …Matt,” He sort of managed to gasp it out as she moved around looking for his hand to shake with hers. “I’ll spar with you if it means you’ll get off of me at the moment.”

The poor man on the bench was all sort of wheezy, but Harley didn't bother to move off of him. He hadn't told her too after all, and for all she knew he had abs of steel.
"Matt! That's a great name!" She continued to shake his hand, which at this point was more like shaking his whole arm. Thankfully for him, the moment he said I'll spar with you was the very moment she dropped his hand and hopped off of him, spinning around to face him again. "Want some help up?" She extended her hand down to him, wiggling her fingers expectantly.
"...And why were you sleeping on the bench anyway?"

She didn’t seem to budge for the time being and Matt was pretty sure that it was starting to get harder to breath. His arm started to ache as she kept shaking it out of his socket, at this rate Hattie would defeat him before they even to got to the training grounds. As if saying the magic words all of the sudden Hattie jumped off him, his lungs quickly filling with air as he gasped lying on his side. “Oh thank god… and thank you, and yes.” Reaching out he grabbed her hand and hoisted himself to his feet dropping his book in the process. “Well I was reading, sort of, I guess I feel asleep… it’s a nice day outside and well…it’s been a long week in the infirmary with paper work.”

"How can you 'sort of' read?" Harley laughed, momentarily amused by the concept, but it was one that was very quickly brushed off. "But yeah, it's kinda nice out, I don't blame you...but maybe not a bench next time, yeah buddy?" The red head chuckled, helping pull him to his feet before letting out a delighted oooing noise. He was taller than her! That was fairly rare on this island. A happy turn of events indeed!
She moved a bit, and her foot bumped the fallen book, startling her for a moment. It was stared at for only a moment before she leaned down to collect it, bringing it back up to him without a second thought and, curiously for her, not even a glance. Normally she was more nosey than that, not that this poor stranger would know.
"Are you even gonna be okay to spar with me?" She asked instead, suddenly concerned for her newest victim.

“Weeellll… sort of reading is like reading a few pages and then everything starts to blur and then the next minute you are asleep with the book on your chest.” To be completely honest Matt couldn’t remember anything that he had read. The first few sentences and then everything got sort of muddy from there on out. Wasn’t there a dragon? Giving her light chuckle and half awkward smile as he stood over her, he nodded to as if to say yes ma’am. “To be fair I wasn’t expecting to completely fall asleep here, or be woken up by someone jumping on top of me, but next time, next time I won’t I’ve completely learned my lesson.” He was however a little surprised; she wasn’t nearly as short as every other female he had met at dues. As she handed the book over he half expected the question of geekness or lame to come in but instead she handed the book over without question, “Thanks.” Looking at for a moment he opened it look for a moment and then gave up trying to mark of the last page he was on and tucked it into a jacket pocket. “Oh no I’ll be fine I might have slept the entire day away if you hadn’t woken me up, I think I’ve been asleep the last few minutes…hours…more like hours I think.” He had left his watch back in his room and last time Matt remembered being awake it was just after breakfast.

Realization dawned.
"Oh!" She announced, suddenly understanding it all. "Okay, cool, kinda reading is a pain though, because you never remember what you were reading." Which made her curious to see what he was trying to read, now that she was actively thinking about it - and she would have looked too, had he not mentioned his unfortunate waking. Instead of being nosey, she grinned up at him, her bright blue eyes back to being happily narrow.
"Glad I could help! Everyone should be aware of the dangers of outdoor sleeping." She elbowed him lightly, having spun around to be at his side, instead of in front of him. By then he had placed his book in his pocket and, typically for Hattie, it went out of mind.
"Hours, huh? Guess that means you're more than rested! Ready to go, then?" Even as she asked, she snaked her arm around his, ready to drag him to the training field if she had to. "What level are you, by the way? Am I about to get my a** kicked for insolence?"

She was rather cheerful Matt noticed, sort of like another familiar red head he had met, except the other one was really short in comparison. “I have no idea why I try to read when I am tired I just sort of end up having some sort of weird nightmare in the end.” He returned her smile out of politeness unsure if maybe there was something else she wanted, or maybe she just felt bad? “Maybe I’ll invest in one of those hammock things versus bench, make it more trap like if someone tries to leap on me when I sleep. As for not sleeping outside I can’t make you any promises it won’t happen again, it kind of just… it’s a bad habit when it nice outside.” It was like a cat thing, if it was sunny, and warm and wonderful he just wanted to be outside and read, and typically napped until it got too cold for him, like when the sun disappeared or when some lifer loomed over him reminding Matt of paperwork. Matt wasn’t entirely sure how she got to his side and wrapping her arm around his but he took it as a good sign and nodded. “Rested and ready to get my a** handed to me yes onward!” Matt chuckled at her, “No worries I am still a trainee and I haven’t won a spar yet so I don’t think you have to worry about me getting you pay back for crushing me almost to death.”

"Nightmares? Did you have one today?" The thought piqued her interest, at least; what Matt was trying to explain to her sounded delightfully foreign, this whole nightmares-when-you-read-while-tired thing. At least the idea of hammocks was distracting enough for her to not linger too long on the whole nightmares thing.
"Oh! When you do, tell me, okay? We can have outdoor naptime parties on nice days!" Now didn't that sound lovely? It totally sounded lovely to her. "I'll bring audio books." Which to her, sounded like an incredible compromise.
"Oh, pshaw, I'm sure you'll have an epic win eventually. You're probably the type that hides their true power until the last moment. Then, whoosh~" She held out her hand, fingers spread as if she were casting something. "~You clear the battlefield. Right?" Bright blue eyes shot up to him again, and she was back to grinning, infinitely proud of herself. "You'll just let me think I'm safe." She pat his arm and shook her head; she was on to his tricks, and no amount of innocent blue eyes and gorgeous thick eyebrows would change her mind.
"BUT! I'm a trainee too. It'll be pretty close at the very least. Yay or Nay charges, you think?" She asked, as she rounded the corner and headed into the training field.

I did have one, it consist of zombies that I defeated using a fairy want that look a lot like my weapon… downside was everything turned into these super cute plushie things that were so cute they were creepy. At some point some huge zombie appeared and when I turned it into some oversized stuff thing it fell on top of me and crushed me. Shouldn’t have underestimated the stuff cute things.” As he described the dream he waved his arm in front of him as if he was still zapping zombies with some sort of imaginary wand. “Despite how it sounds it was a lot more terrifying in person I reassure you.” There was a moment of hesitation on his face when she mentioned hammock party, however as soon as the word book escaped her mouth his attention was completely redirected. “OH you have audio books? Which ones? Which authors?” Matt’s enthusiasm showed for a moment, even if briefly about his hobby before he caught himself and dialed it back a little. For all he knew she was not really interested in books at all and he felt like an over eager puppy. “And as long as you promise not to leap on top of me to wake me I will invite you and there can be mini hammock parties.” He laughed as she mentioned the thought of him hiding his real abilities until the end, “No no it’s more of the other way around, I usually start out pretty good but then fizzle out in the end. Which saying it out loud sounds a lot worse…” No one liked when things fizzled out in the end, it was a let down a massive one. Eyeing her as she grinned he returned the smile wondering how good she was at sparring, With his luck she was great at it and he was going to end up on the ground defeated again, cute things always seemed to kick his a** and there was no way he was going to get suckered into being nice in spar again. Nope not to another adorable blue eyes red head. “Nay on charges this time if you don’t mind,” he replied as he eyed the training grounds again. A tingle of excitement started in his fingertips, which Matt found a little unusual. Most of the time he dreaded it. Enoh Love Sorry for long post and pfft haha Matt terrible rolling starts

Matt told her his story, and she hung on every word. It was fascinating, and strange, and strangely fascinating. Everything she liked in a tale, or, in this case, a dream. "Dude," She gasped out, in complete awe. "When you have dreams like that, you need to come and tell me, okay? 'Story Time: Featuring Matt' is pretty awesome!" She spread her hands out in front of her too, as if she were imagining a sign that put his name in lights.
"Er--well--about that--" Her words became disjointed as, fora moment, she showed something rare; embarrassed hesitance. He was just so excited, but after a dream about zombies and fairies and so-cute-they're-horrifying things, her audio books were...terrible. "I only have two and they're...romance ones." She opened her bright blues wide with attempted innocence. "Like the super corny, super smutty ones...BUT I can get new ones! High fantasy is pretty cool too." Though now that she thought about it, would her audio books even work on the island? Probably not.
For his attempt at an ultimatum, Matt received a definitely less innocent and certainly more wicked grin.
"I make zero promises. That is now many promises I make." Harley cackled for a moment. "I leap first, ask questions later!" She announced like a personal motto, pointing at the sky with her other hand on her hip. She elbowed him suddenly. "You're pretty cute when you get excited, did you know that? I mean, you're pretty cute already but like...your walls just - boom!" Her hands fluttered and her cheeks puffed in a mock-explosion.
Her mock-explosion ended with the summoning of a very large, almost skull-like axe, which she wasted no time in swinging at him in a wide arc. HP: 40/40 Damage: 2 hanging gallow omg i am word vomiting and i am sorry

Matt was honestly surprised that Hattie was interested in his nightmare as far as he was concerned it was some on par with someone being completely insane. “Weeelllll I may pick and choose from the real nightmares but if I have another one that is as insane as zombies turning into creepy doll plushies I’ll keep you in mind, just as long as its not like some weird poetry reading thing where people come to listen… and no telling anyone else.” As he spoke Matt looked at her giving her a mock serious face about keeping it secret before grinning. In all honesty he didn’t care but he was pretty sure that everyone didn’t need to know his insanity. When her face went from grinning to a short moment of embarrassment Matt couldn’t help but laugh a little at her charming way. “I have read my fair share of romance novels, sometimes twice when I used to get really bored at the hospital and there was nothing around to read other than charts. Trust me they are not the worse thing in the world, some of them were pretty good actually.” Not a lot of them but some of them he enjoyed again it was the more adventure based one. “Honestly any book is fine with me, as long as its not sparkling vampires or high school kids with minor love dramas or some sort of long drawn out historical political thing.” As Hattie made her declaration with her hand on her hip Matt stared for a moment and then started to laugh, “I am never going to be able to sleep outside with you around any more am I? There go my peaceful naps, floating away forever, goodbye.” Still chuckling he waved his hand in a goodbye motion before covering his face with it shaking his head in disagreement as if trying to hide any sort of fluster. Elbowing her back he shook his head again this time with his grin showing. “Noooo I am definitely not cute, handsome is debatable, but not cute. Cute is what you are adorable is what you are when you get a little embarrassed.” Cute was also the cheeks puffed mock-explosion expression. What was surprising was the oversized axe that she swung with ease at him gazing his chest, in returned he summoned his own spear and lunged forward towards her shoulder not wanting to hesitate too long to let her attack again. "Dude, even if it's like, 'test taking with no pants on', story time." Really, Hattie just liked talking, or being talked to. Even if it was ridiculously silly or horrifyingly embarrassing; she just wanted the chattering company. "But good to know about the romances ~ I'll start bringing those around!" Romance novels were a relatively new thing for her; and it was all Horace's fault. All of it.
"Nope. Not unless I'm sleeping with you." She announced proudly, still grinning away as they both waved to his peaceful sleeps. "Or, you know, you tell me to leave you alone. I'm pretty okay with that." Despite her earlier promises of zero promises, she knew when a firm 'no' was to be adhered to. It was a secret she didn't often let people in on, because it was more fun to be a surprise.
"Okay fine, Handsome. Handsomely cute." She hand waved away the compliments, that grin of hers a near constant now, even if her face was beginning to hurt. The battle begun, she swung at him, and he responded with a knock to her shoulder, sending her stumbling back a pace or two; her attempt to take another swing at him missed entirely, as she was knocked off balance.
"Earlier - you said hospital. Did you used to work at a hospital?" She asked as she recovered, trying to keep an axe-sized distance between them. HP: 36/40 Damage: nope
