February--the year was still young. In the coming months, the theater would be alive with the chatter of the actors and with the laughter of the stagehands. The playwrights would be hard at work, and the whole cycle would begin again. Already the first actress was running workshops and lessons to build the confidence and camaraderie of the stage. That meant that, soon enough, Ruxandra would be swamped with work and unable to enjoy herself. But for now, while the days were slightly lazy and all she had to do was weave, knit, and tat, the nantlil was free to pursue some leisure. And the first stop for leisure was to show a little gratitude. She remembered a time at the theater when they had received assistance from another citizen of Castrum de Drac--not one of their theater fellows, oh no, but a brilliantly-colored tahtll who, according to Ruxandra's questions, apparently did...stuff...throughout Castrum de Drac.
It was true that not everyone in the tribe had a specific job. Some worked in an official capacity, in the toymakers' workshops, in the palace, as guards or blood-givers, or even self-employed, but all of those people had a loyalty (even if it was primarily to themselves and their own business). She'd not yet met someone who worked, but not consistently. It was...strange. Sort of sweet, actually--that someone from outside the Theater would step in to help. It deserved recognition, it really did, especially since Ruxandra had been distracted on that occasion and had not had an opportunity to thank him. Unfortunately, she had also neglected to ask his name, which was the first stumbling block in her plan. Patience, perseverance, and no small amount of sweet-talking had managed to dredge up a name that matched her description: Drakiabel. He helped out with the toymakers when he was bored, apparently. Since Ruxandra's entire job description was "help out the toymakers" (with some extra trifles on top), she immediately felt a vague connection to him.
Weaving the basket had been the next step, and when that was done and lined with moss from the caves, she filled it with treats. Blood sausages and a flask of blood collected from one of the blood-givers, classic treats. As one of the brighter-pelted Dark tribers, Ruxandra didn't think it particularly likely that Drakiabel ever got much of an opportunity to go to the surface. So she didn't think it likely that Drakiabel got much of an opportunity to have blood, either. Yes. This should do. This should do quite nicely. Satisfied, and with not a small amount of pride in her step, Ruxandra picked up the basket in her mouth and headed out towards the stranger's dwelling. Once there, she set the basket down and murmured, "Hello? Drakiabel?"CaliWolfe I'm assuming that he's at least once helped out at the theater. I mean, he helps out with everyone else...? I apologize profusely if I'm overstepping boundaries, though. Please tell me if I am. xP

The vibrant tahtll had been asleep, his mind aflutter with images of skies and soaring through the night with the moon alongside him as guidance. He couldn't see during the daylight hours, and as such when he knew it was day he slept. Of course, he didn't always know when it was day or night since the caves he called home were always so dark and snug and nice. It was a good place to live, he wouldn't rather exist anywhere else.
Drakiabel had no job or task he liked over any other. He liked everything, or some would say he liked nothing. For why else was he always here and there and everywhere? Some days he would gather food, or rather this would occur at night when he could see. Other times he would be seen mending clothing or stitching materials together for puppets. Another day yet he had been spied plucking weeds from out of the ground and making dwellings look pretty. He also had savored a paw at the creation of treats and goodies that made other's mouths water. He most frequented visits to the theater however, and that was where he enjoyed in helping as a stage hand. He liked doing things and at the theater things always needed being done. If nothing else of a job interested him during that day he was quick to go there and aid them in whatever they were currently doing.
He heard a voice call and arouse him from his sleep. Not that he minded, he wasn't much for sleep. The tahtll lifted his brightly pink face off of the ground and was relief to find no drool left from where he had flopped over for the night and refused to get up. He went to the front of his little cavern and was surprised to find someone had actually been looking for him. He did his very best to stifle a yawn and not look sleepy to his visitor.
"Hello." He greeted her, recognizing her features to match the description of someone in the theater itself.. Ah, but the same escaped him. Oh well, he supposed she'd introduce herself. Oh and look at that, she had brought him a basket of goodies, how kind.
"Good morning." He said sleepily.Geyser Eelborn No worries, he's definitely helped out at the theater before!

The poor thing was hungry! He was yawning! Inwardly, Ruxandra tutted. This would not do. No, no it would not. She set her basket down and surveyed the brilliantly-hued tahtll. She had forgotten about some of his features--the blood-red sclerae, or the vibrant green eyes. He had definitely stood out in the theatre, but he would stand out even more amongst the common populace, all golds and pinks and blues. His fur was mussed from sleep, and he looked quite tired, to Ruxandra's eyes. She was glad, even more than before, that she had made the journey out here. He definitely needed some help.
She gave him a wide smile and pushed the basket towards him with her paw. "Good morning, Drakiabel. You might not remember me--" he definitely did not, if he had not used her name-- "I'm Ruxandra, I work in the Theatre of Days Past. I work with the toymakers--I'm not a toymaker myself, but I design the costumes for the puppets. I remember seeing you at our theatre last week, helping out, and I wanted to thank you. I did not get a very good opportunity to do so before, I was very busy. Anyway." She gave him another smile. "I don't know what your favorite is, but I brought you some breakfast." She pushed the basket forward a little and settled on her haunches.
She did not know what to do now. She could leave...or she could stay. She was suddenly curious about this jack-of-all-trades. If he did not take the basket inside, she would stay a little while and chat with him. After all, if she was going to be on break, she might as well spend it with someone else. She might as well enjoy herself and make the most of the break. Besides...maybe I could convince him to help out a bit more. It would be nice to have someone to help, and someone to talk to.

She knew his name? They had met before, and he had gone and forgotten her name. He mentally reminded himself in that if he wanted any hope at all of finding a more stable career he would have to start with being able to remember his colleagues names.
"Ah yes..." The Theatre was where he enjoyed helping out. He remembered that even in his sleepy state. Drakiabel was about to comment on how he didn't quite recall who this Ruxandra was but then something clicked in his mind. Oh right! They had seen each other before, maybe exchanged a few words as he helped assemble puppets. "Ruxandra! Hello!" He suddenly blurted.
He then looked down at the gift she had brought him. It was so nicely put together, dear him, he could only imagine the disaster it would be if he himself tried to make such a thing. "You didn't have to do that." He told her in a as-a-matter-of-fact tone. He then realized that could have come off as disinterested or mean, and he wasn't either of those! "I-I mean, I'm just doing my part right? You didn't need to thank me or anything. But I do appreciate it! Honestly!" He had to admit, it was nice to be thanked. With food too!
Drakiabel then looked over his shoulder, into his small den. It looked so dark and comfy and ready for him to curl back up on his floor in, but... "Did you want to come in?" He offered. He didn't imagine waiting for however long Ruxandra had was very comfortable. The least he could do was offer to share the meal she had made with her. "I mean, it would be better to sit than stand right?" He found he liked sitting better then standing, and sitting on a front entrance, he didn't feel that would be very comfortable either...
