 Arissa's Ronen950/950 vs.  Jorge's Layla1000/1000 Quote: You will make an introductory post and roll a 100-sided dice during your introductory post. This post is basically you walking onto the stage once more with your Pokemon in a Pokeball or next to you. Then your opponent will do likewise, also rolling a 100-sided dice. Person with the highest roll goes first. HP/Attack bonuses count if your Pokemon has them. Pokemon that cannot evolve any further have 1000 HP. Pokemon that can evolve one more time have 900 HP. Pokemon that can evolve two more times have 800 HP. Now for every attack post, you roll one 6-sided dice which will let your opponent know how to react to your post. 1 = your attack misses, 2-5 = your attack hits for 100 damage, 6 = your attack hits for 200 damage. Even stuff that normally does not do damage - such as growl - will do a kind of unseen damage in that it will hurt your opponent's dignity or whatnot. Super effective/resistance/immunity/whatever do not count. Although please don't say you punch a Ghost Pokemon in the face. That's just not elegant - try to make all attacks seem reasonable and keep beauty/grace/cuteness/etc in mind. Also try to humiliate your opponent if possible - you are making your own Pokemon look good and your opponent's Pokemon look bad! At the end of every post, please include your Pokemon's HP. After 5 posts from both sides (10 posts in total not including the intro posts), time will be called and the battle will end regardless of if a Pokemon has fainted or not. You will be scored on both how much damage you have done, your general performance throughout the battle (so RP your best!), and your creativity throughout the battle. A response post from each side after the 10 damage posts in response to a KO or finished time is allowed to bring the battle to a culmination. Judges will post shortly after to let you know who won. If you do not make a post within 24 hours (subjected to change) of your opponent's last post, you are automatically disqualified and your opponent wins the battle. We will then alert you of your next battle.

Arissa had been pleased with Ronen's performance, and congratulated him on a job well done while they waited for the judging to be completed. Once the scores were announced, they found that despite the tough competition, Ronen managed to tie for top score! Kishin crowed and cuddled her son while Arissa cheered for him. But they didn't have long to celebrate; that was only the qualifying round, and the part that Arissa found more challenging was about to begin. Once their battle was called, she waved for Ronen to come with her. "That's our cue. Let's give them a show, Ronen!" He chirped, let Kishin preen a stray feather into place on his wing, then hopped up to fly alongside Arissa as they entered the stage.
The young lady strolled out, her pokemon bobbing gently in the air beside her. She stopped at her spot on the edge of the field and allowed him to continue on, drifting side to side as if being blown along on the wind. Once he neared the center, the floated down to land on the stage and looked up expectantly for his opponent, head cocked quizzically.

Jorge was ecstatic. They had made it into the next round! Their hard work had truly paid off. Jorge was bouncing from foot to foot as Layla just laid on the ground, casually grooming herself. Layla was nowhere near as nervous as Jorge. The Vaporeon was actually excited for this part.
Their battle was announced over the loudspeaker, and Jorge patted Layla's head. "Okay, we made it through the first round, let's make it through the second, alright?" she said as they walked.
Layla nodded, her eyes narrowing as they approached the area. Jorge stood at the other end of the field and sent an awkward wave to her opponent. Were they supposed to acknowledge each other? Layla rolled her eyes at Jorge's big nervous grin and walked ahead. When she was just several feet away from her opponent, a Togetic, she sat down daintily and stuck her nose in the air at him.
Jorge winced from her spot. Well... it was also about humiliation, right?

Jorge took a deep breath and calmed herself. She had to be like Layla for this to work. Calm and collected. She looked out towards her Vaporeon, who was sitting absolutely still in her starting position and waiting for Jorge's cue.
"Haze," Jorge called.
Layla slowly and gracefully spun from her sitting position. After two full spins, she stopped, locking eyes with her opponent. Her tail swayed once, twice, and then her eyes glowed. A thick, sparkling mist rose from her skin and swirled around her body before it covered her and her side of the field entirely. Tendrils of the haze spun from the main cloud and floated towards her opponent, hoping to obscure his vision and the crowd's vision of him.

When the mist reached out for him, Ronen immediately hopped into the air and fluttered out of reach. It was instinct to try and avoid an attack, after all.
Arissa considered how to turn it to their advantage. Finally she decided and called, "Light it up with Shock Wave!"
Ronen began to spark faintly, the electricity forming a crackling aura around him. Bits of the lightning broke off like rising bubbles to form small balls of electricity, which floated in the air around him. When several had formed, he pointed to one of the misty tendrils that was still reaching for him. A ball of lighting shot towards it, flew through to the center of it, then exploded with a crackle that sounded like fireworks. The light diffused through the mist, lighting the strand up. He gestured with his other hand and another ball of lighting followed the movement to fly off and light up another tendril, this one producing a small boom.
Ronen floated back a little to stay well clear of the mist, then began casting forward more balls of lightning with sweeps of his hands. They shot forward one after another, flying through the misty side of the field to explode with crackle-booms and bright flashes. Ronen started whistling as some of them flew forward, adding to the impression of a fireworks display on a cloudy night. He wasn't just firing off lightning randomly though; some of the flashes were low enough to illuminate the floor of the field, and he kept a sharp eye out for the dark silhouette of his opponent. When he though he found her, he swept both his arms forward, sending all of his remaining lightning balls at once. They flew forward, converging on the spot he directed them to and exploding at the same time, creating a dazzling boom and flash.

Layla saw the balls of lightning coming towards her, and hurriedly melded into the mist, wincing a bit as her tail sizzled before joining her in the haze. She leaped from the mist farthest away from her opponent, regaining solid form.
"Aqua Ring, Layla!" Jorge called, outwardly calm and inwardly glad that her Vaporeon had gotten out of that lightning storm.
Layla smiled and hummed a few notes. With a few swings of her tail, the mist surrounding them suddenly burst into millions of sparkling water droplets. The water joined together into long glittering rings that surrounded the Vaporeon and spun to a beat of her own making. The water pulsed with each tap of her paw against the soft earth. She danced around the field surrounded by the rings of water, trying to catch her opponent off guard while showcasing her agile form. When she thought she had found an opening, Layla spun, the rings around her mimicking her movements. She stopped suddenly, a dramatic end to her dance as she slammed her paws to the ground, shooting the water rings away from herself so that they rained down upon the field in a beautiful shower. One ring had been aimed towards her opponent, because it would be quite hard to remain floating when soaked.

When Ronen saw Layla beginning to dance, he trilled happily and joined in. Though he was high in the air instead of on the stage, he bobbed and spun gracefully through the air, chirping an accompaniment to the beat of her paws. When the footsteps stopped, he started to turn to see why.
Arissa saw the water coming and hurriedly called, "Reflect, now!"
Ronen swiftly put up a hand to created a shield without wondering why. Since he was still turning, the mirror-bright wall formed an arc around him, flashing into place just before the ring of water would have hit. Instead the water splashed harmlessly against the silvery screen, cascading away in a shower of bright droplets.
Ronen couldn't let it end there, though. He grabbed the edge of the wall and shook it up and down as if laying out a blanket. The wall flexed as if it were cloth, then solidified into a shape like a wide bowl with a spout at one end. As the falling water began to collect it in, Ronen flew beneath it and created another shallow disk, then another below that. When the water in the top bowl began to overflow, the purpose became clear; the water flowed from one bowl to another like a fountain, tossing up droplets as it splashed from one to another. Ronen made a couple more disks, then shaped the last one into a half-pipe that funneled the rest of the water towards Layla.

Layla tried not to scoff as the water came towards her. She made a show of running towards the water shooting at her, leaping into it, and appearing at the other end with a smile. Water was something she could always turn her way, so her opponent using her own move against her did nothing.
"Aurora Beam!" Jorge shouted.
Layla turned and faced Ronen, her eyes glowing eerily once more. Using the reflected disks to her advantage, the Vaporeon opened her mouth and sent out a beautiful beam of opalescent rainbow light. The light bounced from disk to disk, projecting rainbow images all throughout the field, until it finally headed towards the Togetic.

The shimmering beam bouncing around was really quite pretty. Ronen had to stop and watch it, and was slow to react when it headed his way.
"Magical Leaf," Arissa called.
Ronen threw up his arms to scatter leaves in all directions just as the beam hit him. He was quickly encased in a layer of ice from the neck down, and since he was unable to fly, he began to sink.The leaves nearest him were also frozen to him, forming a spiky ball, while the remaining leaves gathered below him in a pile.
He fell straight down into that pile, scattering leaves everywhere, including a few frozen ones that had broken off. He actually bounced a bit from the impact, then started rolling towards Layla. Although Ronen couldn't move himself, he directed the leaves to start pushing him, so that he picked up speed as he went, barreling towards her with leaves and flecks of ice tossed up in his wake.

Layla saw Ronen rolling towards her and jumped up and onto it, wincing a bit at the spiked edges that poked at her paw pads. She smiled through the pain and ran on the ball as it continued rolling, maintaining perfect balance. When it began to slow, she flipped off of the ball and into one of the piles of leaves and ice.
"Blizzard!" Jorge exclaimed.
The leaves and ice surrounding Layla began to float into the air and swirl around her, creating an ethereal cyclone. Once all of the leaves and ice in the pile below her had been added to the swirling display, Layla danced out from the center and twirled as snow and ice started raining down onto the field. The cyclone froze in place, creating an intricate latticed ice formation as snow continued to fall. As Layla's dance picked up, the wind and ice did as well. With a swing of her tail, a wave of jagged ice and snow was sent towards Ronen as Layla continued her dance around the frozen cyclone.

Ronen was fairly helpless to resist the attack. He best he could do was duck his head closer to the ball like a turtle withdrawing into its shell, then shut his eyes and wait out the stinging winds.
It was time to get Ronen out of that shell. "Ronen, break free with Shock Wave," Arissa told him.
Ronen opened his eyes and concentrated. A faint yellow glow formed within the crystalline sphere, and soon sparks began to dance from point to point on the spiky ball. The light within grew brighter and began to flicker, while the lightning formed larger arcs across the surface. More and more sparks flashed across, then cracks started forming in the ice. The fragmenting sphere briefly refracted the light from within and sent small rainbows shimmering across the stage. Then all at once the sphere shattered, sending sharp, electrically-charged shards of ice in all directions, and freeing Ronen to stand up and stretch.

"Aqua Ring, Layla!" Jorge called. This was it - the last move. They'd done so well so far, and Jorge was so proud of Layla. If this last move went off without a hitch, Jorge would be happy no matter what.
Layla had dodged the shattered ice with ease and prepared for her last move. Drawing from the snow and ice on the field, Layla brought all of the water towards her and gathered it into strands. Once most of the water was spinning around her in tight, elegant strings, Layla phased through it. What was left was the likeness of a Vaporeon made out of the rings of spinning water. Layla smiled and manipulated the water around the field, dancing along with her water copy. After a few more twirls, Layla sent her copy into the air. The water Vaporeon spun as Layla swished her tail on the ground below. She turned her attention to her opponent as her water copy did the same. With a smile and a hop, Layla sent the water clone at her opponent, aiming just in front of him. Her water copy soared through the air before diving into the ground in front of Ronen. Large splashes of water were sent up into the air, catching the light, as Layla turned and struck a final pose.

Arissa knew their time was running short, they had one last chance to impress the crowd. As the water clone headed for then, Arissa called, "Fairy Wind." She was mildly surprised when the liquid figure slashed just in front of Ronen instead of running into him.
Ronen could work with that better, though. As a spray of water was tossed up, he raised his hands to summon a wind. Following his gesture, a gust of shimmering air shot up from the ground, tossing the water into a tall fountain that began to puff away into mist as it dispersed. The wind swirled around and caught the tiny droplets though, forming shimmering, whirling clouds.
The clouds started to form shapes. Slowly at first, like what seems to happen when you stare at the sky on a bright summer day, vague figures that were up to interpretation. But as Ronen flew to hover among them, they coalesced into smaller, more distinct shapes. As Ronen bowed to one figure, it finished forming into the shape of a small humanoid just his size with large butterfly wings. The fairy fluttered its wings and bowed back. The other clouds resolved into other fairies as well, and they all bowed toward Ronen.
Ronen reached out to touch the hand of one and began to lead them in a dance, swooping and spinning in the air. The fairies, Ronen included, wove around each other, inscribing a large orb in the air. Then he broke off to one side and the fairies turned from their dance to follow.. He circled the stage once like a comet with a long, glittering tail, then turned towards Layla. He tucked in his wings and dove towards her, but at the last moment he snapped his wings open and curved up and away. The fairies did not however, and crashed straight down toward her, puffing into small clouds of vapor as they impacted. Ronen flew up to hover in the air as a bell chimed to signal the end of the match.

The bell rang and Jorge practically leaped across the field. A few feet away from Layla she recovered and remembered she was supposed to be a poised and professional coordinator. Whoops. She grinned at the crowd and waved before gathering her Vaporeon up into a hug.
"You did such a good job," she sniffled. Layla snuffled her trainer's hair in response and allowed herself to be manhandled. Jorge let the Vaporeon down, but kept a hand on her head as they both took a bow and waved to the crowd. They turned to leave, when Jorge remembered there was another person on the field still.
"Oh!" she exclaimed, quickly turning and waving at Arissa. "Great match! Good luck!" she yelled. Together, the two skipped off the stage to await the results.
