I just learned that some gamestops will be holding a midnight launch for the new 3DS/MH4U/Majora's mask. I'm exceedingly excited about this, even though I ordered my game from Amazon and it won't come till the 19th at the latest.
The last midnight launch I went to was for pokemon X/Y, and a bunch of us just stood around playing MH3U.
So I'm just wondering if there's a midnight launch near any of you guys, and if so, are you going? Are you going to dress up in your nerdy finest? Have you ever been to a game's midnight launch before?

There's one an hour away from where I live, but I won't be going. All of my MH4U stuff was ordered online. Plus I feel like I'd be the only one to show up since it's not that popular of a game in the area I live at. Never been to a midnight launch before though.

Well, it's not just for MH4U. It's technically for the new 3ds, and majora will also be launching.
But it sucks that it's so far away.

I would love to have gone to a midnight launch at mine personally. I am sure they are having one here (I am in a small area but the gamestop is pretty much the only place for electronics of any kind so they are actually pretty big lol. The last launch I went to was Destiny and that was a lot of fun ^_^. Unfortunately though I am in the same boat you are lol, had to order online and won't be seeing mine till the 16th at the earliest. Part of me is really hoping for an early shipping mistake (those do happen from gamestop now and then, even breaking street date on occasion) but I doubt that will happen lol. I am soooo excited for it though @_@. I will probably get through to hunter rank 5 in one sitting >.> -is a little obsessive-

I plan on going anyways, with my brothers, and seeing how many missions and stuff we can do in MH3U.
I'm tempted to also pre-order the game tonight in store, so I can play it, and when my fancy one comes in from amazon, I will just swap the game out and give it to my friend who got me into MH in the first place.

I am thinking of doing the same actually! I mean I am getting the new 3ds one so it will be preinstalled but I can still use the save data and then send it with my old 3ds xl to a friend of mine so we can play it together ^_^. I kind of want to stay patient though XP. I mean that would be fun, but I actually have work that night unfortunately, and then work again the morning afterwords so idk if I could really do it lol

Yeah lol, but I think it might still be worth it @_@. I am a huge monster hunter junkie lol. But yeah I am not sure which I will do lol. I Also love pokemon though (has X, Y, and both Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on my 3ds, all with far to many hours in them >.>). It's actually an interesting tie in my 3ds (almost even) between Harvest Moon A tale of two towns, Fire Emblem, and Pokemon X with MH3 not being on there much because I played that on the wiiu mostly lol.

I am vaguely in the same boat! Owning the pokemon games and logging many hours, though I play X/OR and use Y/AS as event farming versions.
I've logged a lot of hours in 3U, but they're mostly in multiplayer. I'm only hunter rank 3 though, because I'm not very good.
(And rather then AC, I have my hours in Fantasy Life, Rune Factory, and Shin Megami Tensei 4... and about a million other games. HA! I'm just all over the place in games.)

I am really considering getting Fantasy Life because I hear good things about it lol, but it's below Bravely Default on my buy list and way below a load of other games I want to get lol. I have a ps4 too and that is where I do most of my buying lately. I don't remember my rank (it's been a while) but I remember farming a lot of Zingore's and doing a bit further than that if that gives you any ideas lol. I am not the best at it, but with the proper preparation I can do pretty well ^_^. I do love Shin Megami Tensei 4 and Rune Factory 4 though, both amazing games ^__^.

I am so bad at the monster names! xd I'm like "The thing that's like a giant mud puppy that shakes mud at you!" or "The underwater thing!" I'm also horrible at spelling the names for the ones I do remember, so unless it's Jaggi, I'm not even going to try spelling it.
The last time I was playing, I was farming Rathian I think, but it would not... drop... the thing I needed. Then it gave me like 6 at once. Then was fighting the ice bunny (Lagombi? Seriously, what are names...)
I thought about getting bravely default, but my brain died when one of the male characters had the same name as one of my female coworkers. It's not a common name! But Fantasy Life is fantastic, if simple. A very "feel good" game.
I basically only buy for my 3DS anymore. But I don't have a PS4. All my systems are old!

Barroth I think is the mud one? I know which one it is because I remember him, dude who looks like he had an upside down boot on his head if his mud shattered lol. Yeah lagombi I remember because it was on the demo. Zingore is the electric dog looking dude who looks a bit like raiku with suicone's coloring. He is a MASSIVE pain in the a** -_-. I can't remember if it's like hunter rank 5 6 or 7 but it's somewhere aroudn there >.>. I do love my 3ds, the new one is going to be soooo awesome -is so excited I can't stand it-

But I feel like it would be kind of a waste since I will be moving over to the next one soon lol. Still some extra practice on my 3ds one might be nice. Well I got the monster hunter one because I love the design of it, and obviously the game too lol. So I am looking forward to it mostly for the new stick thing on the camera. A little concerned though because I have huge hands, and I am worried it's going to be too tiny XP.

I'll have to do that. I've been poking at the demo for 4 recently. I'm probably going to go back to 3 and be like "WHY DID I STICK WITH SWORD AND SHIELD ALL THIS TIME?!" But I'm TERRIBLE with the long range weapons. I'm not a marksmen at all. I like to be in the monster's face, and I need something that lets me still move quickly.
I should start thinking of a name for my hunter. That's gonna take the longest ever!
I'd have liked to get the MH one, but I can't for now. So that's alright.
You think the new 3ds is going to be too tiny, even though it's an XL? When I got my XL, I was shocked how huge it was compared to the DS lite, which is what I have. Then again, my hands are tiny.
