My boyfriend was talking at me while I was doing something so I asked him to shut up please and he responded with "Okay, fine. Go die." I apologized for being short with him and he just said "Fine."

Now it might just be me but I don't think that Shut up = Go die.
And i'm just a liiiiiittle upset about it. emotion_donotwant

Thanks I appreciate it. He probably won't say anything about it because it was his reaction to me being "hostile" to him. I just decided to cool off in a different room so I don't smack him upside the head yum_puddi

well i would. try not to act mad about it, just let him know that you thought it was too dramatic and that it upset you that he would say something like that. My boyfriend said something like that to me once and thats what i did and now he always takes a second to make sure i doesnt say anything so extreme, and if he slips up he realizes it and apologizes.

If something upsets you always talk to them about it.

Telling your boyfriend to shut up, probably isn't the best way to quiet him down. You should say "Please can you quiet down I am trying to do _________."

or something similar. A mature response should have a mature reply.
