Here are the rules of the game; Reference as many songs as possible without directly using the title of the song. If title is used, it does not count. Make sure the title of the song is in brackets at the end of posts.
It was early evening, but the sky was already dark. The stars were beginning to glow, but it made no difference to the dim lighting of the park outside townsquare. Tristan was sitting on the end of the slide in the park. His expression was difficult to read, a mix of apprehension and excitement. There was a group of people surrounding the small stage in the middle of the park. There was a kid on stage with a microphone, and they looked like they had no idea what they were doing.
But they also looked like they were having fun. He watched them for a moment, before making his way towards the group. It was a karaoke machine! He'd heard about those; one could sing with musical back up, without having to memorize the words. He wanted to try.
He'd never thought himself much of a singer, preferring to have lines rather than verses when performing, but maybe, maybe he'd give it a chance.

Mac skated through the park handing out musical performance flyers to all he saw. He was hoping to get a big turn out the next time he sang. But what he didn’t expect was to find a large group already gathered at the park’s center stage. What was going on? He decided he would move closer to take a better look. The closer he got, it was obvious what was going on. He heard music. People were singing. His eyes lit up. “Karaoke!” he cheered, skating his way through the crowd over to where the line for singing started. A group of chattering individuals was hovering over a book of song lists nearby. It was enough to get Mac’s blood pumping. He wanted to perform! But what should he sing? It was truly a hard decision!
Without really paying attention to who was standing in front of him, he continued to skate forward in deep though. He bumped right into someone. Oh no! “I’m sorry,” He began; adjusting his shades, yes the shades he even wore at night when there was no need for them. He peered down over the sunglasses to see who he had run into. It was an unfamiliar face so Mac decided he’d introduce himself.
“Hi. The name’s Mac. Are you thinking about singing?” He asked with a friendly grin. “Its really fun. You should give it a try.”

Tristan winced as he was bumped into, whirling around to see who it was. "It's okay," he said. Why was the guy wearing glasses at nighttime? It was evening, the sun was almost gone. "You know, you might be able to see better without those," he began, awkwardly. He didn't want the other guy to think he was being critical of him.
"I'm Tristan," he said, as the other boy introduced himself. He certainly seemed friendly enough. Enough that he had the minun smiling back at him. "I was thinking about it," he said. "I've never sang in public before. I usually act, instead."
