The underground tunnels may seem simple enough at first, acting as a quick way in and out of the base on any given night, or a sneaky escape route in case of emergencies, but the way they snake on almost endlessly in all directions could easily leave an unguided troll lost and disoriented. There are even tunnels stretched so far they haven't been completely explored, though most are heavily barricaded if their final destination remains yet to be seen.

The musky air is thicker and harder to breath, and a candle to guide you is few and far between, but knowing at least a fraction of the winding path puts you at an obvious advantage. Some of the tunnels are used to temporarily house lusii, especially large ones, who double as guards. Other parts of the underground maze spiralling away from the surface are used for storage, but there's still plenty of unused space.

HOW TO PLAY

Teams can roll (1d6) to search for clues and expend a stamina point, either in the same location or in two different locations, using the form below. All trolls must search the same room as their teammates during each individual session. Please double check that you're in correct room before rolling.

TEAM NAME
Team Members:
Your Roll: (edit in)
Current Stamina: starting with 2/2

Once you've rolled, you can check the chart (see spoiler) for your discovery. If you've landed a clue roll, your clue will be PMed to you at the end of the day. Please do not share clues in a public setting, but be sure to hang onto all of them and share them privately with your group!

You are free to respond to the mini-prompts you receive in this thread as well as roleplay. Landing on an NPC roll will trigger a short walk-by, which could give you even more hints, and will be posted in the room thread it was activated in. It can also be reacted to via RP, and other teams who rolled that day in the same location can witness it. Keep your eyes peeled and remember, the more you RP, the more you can search!

Reaching 200 words of RP per teammate in the ORP or any LOCATION thread will grant each team member an extra stamina (1 extra per location/orp for a maximum of 7 total throughout the entire game). Please quote the mule when each team member has met the requirement in any given thread. You may continue to RP in any room thread even after your rolls are complete. Additionally, at any given time during the week of gameplay, your Team Leader may quote the mule and grant your entire team 1 extra stamina, but only once.

Each day a mule post will be done in each location thread declaring the start of the next day. Your teams stamina fully recharges, and the prompt encounters in a thread may change.

The last day to roll is the 18th!

UNDERGROUND TUNNEL DISCOVERIES

If you rolled a 1...
You pass a redblood sorting through some crates of new hooded cloaks, separating sizes, who waves in greeting. She seems grateful to see other trolls. "It's so creepy down here," she shudders as you briefly chat. "I've heard rumors that these tunnels were carved out sweeps ago by some giant lusii. Wack, huh?"

If you rolled a 2...
Looks like you found something... (Please quote the mule to receive your clue PM at the end of the day.)

If you rolled a 3...
It's hard to know what sort of clues you should even be looking for down here, but surely with how barren these tunnels are, anything suspicious should stand out right? Like that—! Oh, never mind, that was just a squeakbeast..

If you rolled a 4...
Looks like you found something... (Please quote the mule to receive your clue PM at the end of the day.)

If you rolled a 5...
You pop open some crates, finding boxes upon boxes of trollgroucho glasses. Huh?

If you rolled a 6...
You turn a corner, finding yourself unintentionally bumping nose-to-nose with a large, menacing looking gorillabear lusus. It huffs, vaguely offended, but otherwise turns away and shuffles off, disinterested.

TROUBLE
Team Members: Kursha Vidari, Byakko Mawiya, Rasali Panaka
Your Roll: 4 (the best roll clearly)
Current Stamina: 2 - 1 = 1

As Kursha lead the way through the winding tunnels, he occasionally turned to confirm their location with Byakko. While he had no real destination, the last thing he wanted to do was waste valuable time getting lost. Because exploring the desolate corridors was definitely not a waste of time as it was. There was a good chance that they would find clues in the empty halls. Clues just... sitting around, out in the open...

Okay, maybe not. In truth, he was just eager to explore, and the caverns reminded him of those he had explored as a kid. It was a touch nostalgic for him. And if they happened to find something along the way all the better. But otherwise he was unconcerned. Who knew when an opportunity like this would present itself again?

Kursha watched his teammates out of the corner of his eye. As far as he could tell so far, Byakko was a bit of a hard a**—she took herself way too seriously though that probably came with her position. She had ideals to uphold, lives to keep safe, blah, blah, blah. He would have to see if he could find her snapping point.

Then there was Rasali. She was a bit of an enigma. Admittedly, Kursha was playing cautious with her, hesitant to pry too much in case he revealed his intentions. But if he had learned anything from their last meeting, it was that she seemed relatively gullible. He could use that. Besides, nothing ventured nothing gained.

He was considering the different questions he could ask, when up ahead a clump of figures appeared. As he and the others drew closer, it became apparent that the figures were lusii... playing cards. A tiny lizard beckoned them over.

For a moment, Kursha was thrown. Then a broad grin spread across his face. “You think they might have seen anything?” he asked. “We could play a few rounds and ask.”

TROUBLE
Team Members: Kursha, Rasali, Akko
Your Roll: 5
Current Stamina: 2 - 1 = 1 (+1 bonus)

Akko rose a scarred brow at the small lizard beckoning for her group to join them in the lusus' game of cards. Weren't they all specifically posted in the tunnels as guards? A frown tugged at her otherwise deadpan expression. Perhaps they were just taking a break- no need to jump to conclusions. Still...

Glancing over at Kursha as he spoke, she shrugged stiffly. She doubted they had seen anything of note, but what other leads did they have? "If you feel so inclined..." She trailed off, and despite her verbal endorsement, the look painted on her face was clearly one in disfavour of the idea. Lusii were never her choice company, even if they were unassuming and rebel-affiliated. Besides, there was no time for play. There were scoundrels afoot!

The next night has begun. All teams stamina is restored back to 2 points, (with the exception of bonus stamina, which rolls over to the next day if it haven't been used!)

Leaving the Intel Department, Zeffer lead the way out into the halls until the three were drifting through the long winding tunnels that connected the base to the outside world. The area interested the blueblood vaguely; he hadn't taken a very good look on his way in anyway, and maybe there would be something worth their while? He was sure Tete would have something smart to say, but he wanted to be good and thorough. He knew Aprife would be with him on that part, at least.

They'd only been walking for a few minutes before something caught Zeffer's eye. "Heeeeey! Maybe this will tell us something..."

The trip through the tunnels to make it here hadn't seemed so uncomfortable or maybe it had gone by in such a blur that it hadn't mattered either way. Aprife couldn't say he'd been paying less attention then, he was always paying attention, but he couldn't remember feeling like the tunnels were getting narrower the further they went, not the way he was feeling now. It was unusual, though he tried not to let it get to him. It was likely just the lower than normal lighting getting to him.

Luckily, it wouldn't have to get to him for long, as Zeffer's voice pulled his attention away from shrinking of his own mind. Found something? Aprife couldn't hide the grin on his face now. This was the first time his matesprit had spoken up about a possible lead. "Awesome, nice find." When he laughed, it echoed some.

"Thanks!" Zeffer couldn't help but grin proudly, finally feeling as if he'd done something legitimately useful. He was about to continue digging around some, before the echoes of footsteps sounded down the hallway...

Odavat Tresna is down in the tunnels, hefting around a crate that looks like it's gotta be empty for as easily as he's carrying it. Well, he does have some pretty impressive muscles, and he probably spends a lot of time moving supplies around, so maybe it makes sense after all. Oh well, better leave him be, he looks awfully busy.

Christ.

"Christ." Muerte repeated, voice echoing his thoughts. It was but a hushed hissed, muttered quickly under his breath as he glanced around the seemingly endless tunnels.

It was dark.

Dark and cold and ultimately dreary and while Muerte Perist was hardly bothered by dreary there was a certain... emptiness that resounded off the walls and in his chest. Save for the footsteps of his teammates, the only other sounds were inside his head; his breathing, his heart. His eyes watched the shadows on the ground, seemingly dancing under the flicker of candle flames.

His hand gripped his saw tighter, and for a second he briefly wondered when he'd even gotten the damn thing out. Quickly, he returned the weapon to his side, only to find his now empty hands pawing fruitlessly as the ends of his button-up coat, grasping for something to do, something to occupy themselves with, something to just—

The sight of another troll—unfamiliar to him—was thankfully enough to jolt him from his tiring thoughts. He wasn't sure why the atmosphere down here was affecting him so; something about it reminded him of his hive and his basement and the thing that lurked in there and, ah, now's not the time to reminisce Muerte.

He watched the foreign greenblood for but a moment, the shenanigans of the duo behind him falling upon deafened ears, as was the approaching of someone newer still...

While you're searching through the tunnels, a short troll with a round face—you think her name is Poutzi Verela—pushes by you, not even bothering to apologize. When you turn to see where she was rushing off to, you realize she's stopped and is sneering right at Zeffer. You try to ask her what her problem is, but without a word she turns and stalks off. It looks like she was returning from the outside, at least you're pretty sure one of the exits is back the way she came from.

"Oh." Zeffer mumbled as they turned the corner, only to stumble upon another rebellion member hard at work. He couldn't help but notice his scars (had everyone been hit in the face?), and was tempted to speak up until he saw how distracted the greenblood looked. Well...maybe it'd just be better to leave him alone for the moment. He was about to take the left fork down a new set of tunnels, when a little bespectacled redblood came rushing in out of nowhere. "Hey!!"

Turning to look back with the others, a look of consternation crossed Zeffer's face as the little nerd glared right over at him. "'Scuse me!" He hollered a rather sarcastic apology after her, before draping his arms around Aprife and Tete's shoulders. Random trolls shoving him around wasn't really much of a bother, but he couldn't help but wonder what had been up her butt. Were they clogging up the tunnels that badly? He returned his attention to his comrades.

"Hey, y'know what we should do? If we split up for a while, we might be able to cover more ground." It had worked during the elixir incident, he couldn't see why it wouldn't work again. More people searching more places, they'd find twice as many tidbits. His horns knocked gently against Aprife's as he snuggled in against him after a moment. "We could meet back in the main cavern in an hour or two. Compare notes." He let out a soft exhale of laughter, knowing Aprife would get the joke.

The sudden influx of activity—he was starting to think they were the only trolls even bothering to wander the tunnels, was that possible—came as a pleasant surprise for one Social Butterfly: Aprife Invasi. If only that greenblood had stayed, he would've hit him up with a few nagging questions, but the look on his face had said stay away, so the yellowblood only mulled over things from a distance. The guy looked awfully used to carrying crates, could it be he worked in the supply department? Seemed like official enough business, then. For now.

There were others to focus on, after all, namely a redblood with an apparent lack of manners (not that he wasn't used to that by now, Tete had been with them for a while). He couldn't understand why she'd stopped if he were so eager to plow into them in the first place, but when he gave her another look, he realized she was staring right at Zeffer. The look made him uncomfortable, a little angry even, but she was gone before he could bristle too much. Not to mention his matesprit really was as good at diffusing him as he was at riling him up.

The arm around around his shoulder was a welcome moment of comfort, and the suggestion wasn't half bad either. "Alright, that sounds like a good idea." He breathed out slowly, feeling a relief when remembering their progress. They seemed to be doing well. "See you then, I'll be waiting." Of course the joke wasn't lost on him, he was repressing a stupid grin and mostly failing.

It wasn't until the blueblood faded away into the darkness of the tunnels beyond that Aprife finally turned his attention to Muerte. "What do you think, should we split, too...?" The question slipped out entirely, but trailed away near the end. Something seemed off...
