Melinda sat in her dorm room, finishing up the last of her homework before she could finally have the rest of the day to herself. She didn't have classes, but she was trying to get caught up as quickly as she could. Leaning back slightly in her chair, she rubs at her temples as she looks out the window. It was honestly a decent say, and truth was she needed some air.
Only, she wasn't sure what she wanted to do.
Boaz was at work, so she couldn't go bug him.
Looking over at her phone, she slides her finger across the screen. Moving to her contacts, she scans through the names before she stops at her cousin's name first. She hadn't heard from her in awhile, and she was wondering if she was okay. She knew Christa though, and figured if she needed any help, she call her. She kept scanning, pausing at the name Gallo, Paris.
This made her smile as she set the chair back down on all four legs. It been forever since she seen Paris, in fact the last time they talked it was right before she left for home. A small frown forms on her lips, which she quickly tried to remove as she picked up her phone. Moving to her closet, she hits the call button and waits.
Honestly, she was hoping she wouldn't catch Paris at a bad time.Sunshine Alouette Promised I would start this, even if it is a lame start. OTL

Carrying around baskets full of laundry was no easy task with one arm in a cast and practically unusable, but Paris managed with the sort of grim determination that had kept her alive in the first place.
Once, she'd argued with Chris against having an elevator in their house. It seemed so useless when neither of them truly needed it, but her injuries taught her a valuable lesson in her inability to predict the future. The elevator certainly came in handy these days, and she took it up to the second floor with the laundry basket held against her hip with her good arm.
She heard her phone buzzing away on the bedside table as soon as she entered the master suite. Dropping the basket of laundry onto the bed, Paris picked up her phone to check the screen for the caller's identity.
It simply said, 'Mel.'
Paris accepted the call and brought the phone to her ear.
“Hey, Mel,” she said warmly. She held the phone in place with her shoulder as she turned to begin sorting through the laundry. “What's up? I haven't heard from you in a while. Everything going okay?”

Mel smiles the moment she hears Paris voice, honestly glad to hear from her "Hey Paris, yea everything is fine now..." she pauses as she looks at herself int he mirror for a brief moment "I've been out of town, back in England up until recently." she didn't want to mention anything about her past year at the moment "I was wondering if you were up for hanging out." she pause, realizing she sounded foolish for a brief moment.
"We could go shopping, grab lunch? I just don't wanna be inside my dorm, and Boaz is working." she just wanted to hang out, not to mention she actually was getting along with Paris before she left.
So she wanted to make up and see if they could become good friends.
Her move back towards her desk, looking down at the letter from her father. It was her inheritances, that she now was allowed access to given she turned twenty one.
Turning away from it, she frowns before she glance out the window "I figured we could catch up, unless your busy."

“Oh, no, I'm not busy at all,” Paris said with a smile in her voice.
She eyed the basket of laundry she'd placed on the bed but decided it could wait until later.
She could certainly use a day out with a friend. Since New Year's, she'd been spending most of her days recovering either at home or at Chris's parents' house. She was getting a little stir-crazy. Of course, after what happened over New Year's, she wasn't too thrilled about the thought of doing anything on her own, but shopping with a friend accompanied by lunch seemed like just what the doctor ordered.
“Where did you want to meet up? The mall?” she asked.
Paris drifted over to her closet. She entered to begin rummaging through her clothes, looking for something to wear that wasn't the lazy outfits of yoga pants and t-shirts she'd been sporting recently.
“We could grab something to eat while we're there,” she suggested. “I know a new Italian place just opened up there. We could try it if you want. My treat.”

Mel was super excited when Paris agreed to come shopping with her. It gave them a chance to catch up, and just be normal for even a small amount of time. Moving to her own closet, she pulls it open as she glance over her attire. Grabbing a light gray striped sweater, she figure this would work and keep her warm "Yea, we can meet at the mall. I have to make a run to my bank real quick and find out some information about some inheritances I got." she pauses as she grabs a pair of jeans off the hanger and tosses it and her sweater onto her bed "But I will meet you in front of entrance near the food court? Unless its cold, then go inside and I will find you in the food court."
Bending down, she grabs a pair of purple gray boots she been meaning to wear again, and now she had the chance "A new Italian place? How long have I been out of the city that a new Italian place opened up?" she was now really glad she asked Paris to come out and hang "How about we slipt the cost, that way I don't feel all that bad?" turning the speaker on her phone, she quickly changes into the outfit she chose to wear.

“If you've got things to do beforehand, how 'bout we meet up near the food court in about an hour and a half?” Paris suggested, juggling her phone as well as a few articles of clothing she pulled from their respective hangers. “That'll give me time to get ready. Trust me, you don't want me walking out of this house looking the way I do right now,” she joked.
She draped her chosen attire over the chaise lounge in her dressing area, settling on a blush pink sweater dress with a matching coat. She dug through one of her drawers until he found the black tights she was searching for, and made a quick trek up her closet stairs to fetch a pair of boots and one of her purses from the second level.
“And I guess we can split if you want,” she said. “Or I can buy this time and you can buy next time. It'll give us the perfect excuse to do this again.”

Mel couldn't help but chuckle "Alright, you can pay this time, and next time I will pay." pulling the brush through her brown curl, she set it back down on her counter "So hour in a half..I will see you then Paris." she grins before she hanging up the phone. Quickly applying some makeup on, she pulls on her bracelets and ears just as she grabs her purse. She was out of her dorm in a matter of minutes, wallet, keys, purse and cell phone in hand.
Humming to herself, she makes her way down to the parking lot as she slips into her SUV. Turning it over, she checks before pulling out and heading off campus. It didn't take her long to get to her bank, as it was only ten minutes away from the mall itself. Parking, she looks over the inheritances information from her father, she makes sure she had everything before slipping into the bank.Sunshine Alouette I am so sorry hun, my laptop tried to die on me. Then we had a problem with flooding in the house. Its just been a bad month. OTL

Paris took her time getting ready, pulling most of her clothes on before heading into the bathroom to apply her make-up. She kept it as natural as possible, with some light color in her cheeks, white shadow lining her eyes, a pink spread over her lips. She took her time curling her hair, making sure she was pleased with the way it looked even if she missed the much longer style she'd sported before it was necessary to cut it.
When she was done, she pulled on and fastened her blush pink coat, then searched for the appropriate boots and purse. Ensemble complete, she left the room, headed downstairs, and went into the garage to climb into her VW bug. It was too cold to drive with the top down, so she left it up. She waited for the garage door to open, pulled out, hit the button to close the garage, and began to make her way to the mall.
Since she'd given herself so much time to get ready, Paris ended up being the first one there. She stood patiently, sending a few sappy texts to Chris while she had the time.Pixie Krysta Ordreg It's okay! No worries! Take your time! :3 <333

Mel finally stepped out of the bank thirty minutes later, placing her card and information back into her purse. Flipping her wrist over, she frowns at the time as she realizes that she was late meeting with Paris. Slipping into her car, she was out of the bank parking lot and heading towards the mall. She felt bad that she was making Paris wait on her, but it was honestly a good reason.
Finding her a close parking space, she checks to make sure she has everything before she was out of her car. Locking it as she walks away, she pulls her phone out just as she slips into the mall. her eyes scanning the food court before she spots Paris. A smile forming as she slips through the crowds.
"I'm so sorry I'm late, I wasn't expecting it would take me so long at the bank." she gives Paris a smile before she looks over her attire "Okay...that outfit looks great. Can I just go shopping in your closet?" she teases as she smiles at her "Its good to see you again...its been awhile."

Paris smiled happily when she noticed Mel's approach, finishing a salted pretzel she'd gotten to snack on in the meantime and throwing the wrapper away before heading forward to greet Mel with a hug.
“Funnily enough, my closet's big enough to shop,” she joked. “You can come over any time you want. I actually don't have very many people over a lot, so it'd be a nice change.”
Paris pulled away once she was satisfied with the greeting hug, a smile still on her face. Shopping was a nice distraction from all the unpleasant things that had been going on in her life since New Year's.
“Did you want to eat first or walk around for a little while? The Italian place I told you about it just upstairs. We shouldn't need a reservation, I don't think. It's not quite lunch hour yet. I can wait a little while if you'd rather, but if you're hungry I don't mind.”
