Ace woke up a bit earlier than usual, and decided to go for a walk. He did his fancy make-up quickly and yawned on his way. The sunshine was too bright for the sleepy man and it induced his craving for spicy foods. The tall man fiddled his phone out to check twitter, he didn't post much but it was a good entertainment as he waited for the sign of Captain on training fields. He could feel coolness from Catherine, as if the haunt had gently touched his face with her cold beautiful hands to keep him awaken. Thanks Cat. It helped at first, but the effect subsided eventually. His drowsiness was so awful up to a point that he could lean against something and fell asleep. The passer-by all viewed the Sun trainee wandered around like a tall tree that would fall onto them. To avoid something like would happen, he posted on twitter to keep him awake. Getting response from Jordan was surprising but he was thankful for the hunter who kindly offered him a coffee. The tall Sun trainee stood at the training fields, smiling. The colorful hair made him a big distraction there but he didn't seem to care about it. < You're thinking - a chili?> The weapon asked with a baffled tone. Yup, I'd like to put a chili in mouth right now. He chuckled, letting his imagination went further. Occasionally, there would be some hunters invited him for a spar. Ace was surrounded with an aura of newbie that they thought they could easily win, like a lost lamb in a group of wolves. However, the new Sun rejected all with lazy tone, didn't mind if they swore or flipped him off. That was what Jordan could see when he reached the training fields, a tall man with absolutely neat hair but clothes he put on like he was in a hurry, very home-style, loose and comfortable. Someone just flipped Ace off and went away.

It wasn't hard to find the trainee who'd posted wistfully about coffee; the guy's brightly colored hair was very distinctive and carefully styled. "You awake?" Jordan asked as he approached. He held up a thermos. "I sympathize with your plight, so you get one free." He looked somewhat more awake than Ace did, presumably having had his own coffee beforehand. He'd taken a little extra time to make the extra coffee. The minor ritual of preparing coffee or tea was something he found generally soothing, and it had mostly restored his good humor.

"Morning~" Ace drawled lazily with a yawn. The thermos Jordan was holding was being stared with intense attention. "I'm heartily thankful for your kindness." The tall man reached both of his hands out, like a kid asking to be picked up, ironically, he was the one much taller. He opened the lid and sniffed, the nice scents stimulated his senses. "It smells nice, what have you added?" The brighter voice asked as he took a deep breathe of it again, it woke up his cells. "Ace, new Sun trainee, nice to meet you."

"It's a spice blend. Not my usual thing. Cinnamon, cocoa, and cayenne, some kind of Central American thing." Jordan shrugged. He wasn't fond of flavored coffee, but his well-known love for coffee meant that people tended to give him coffee, and there was a small pile of unopened bags of flavored blends in one of his cabinets that he couldn't quite make himself give away or throw away. He didn't keep many things that he didn't use, but this was an exception. "Jordan Miller. Sun hunter." He held out one hand for a handshake. "What's your training regimen like?"

Ace took a sip, he wasn't so fond of the tiny sweetness that his eyebrow burrowed slightly until the spiciness took over and smoothed them even. "Do you think curry powder would work?" He took another sip, eyebrow burrowed like natural reaction and calmed down. It was like watching a pair of perk-up dog ears, slowly droops and raises up when you touch it. "Oh a senior. Captain's a Sun too, training regimen?" He paused for a few seconds and poured some coffee into his mouth. "Ah, you mean my weapon. Catherine's a beautiful scythe." He smirked proudly of his gorgeous partner.

"Curry powder?" Jordan tried not to sound horrified. He might not have succeeded. "I'm not sure that's a flavor that would go well in coffee," he said, as neutrally as he could manage. "Captain?" he asked. "Well, I meant what you do to train, but that would have been my next question. Interested in a spar?" Meegane please accept my apologies for being slow

He has his head tilted, then grinned big when he sensed the startled tone of Jordan. "It won't work?" < I'm afraid not.> You think so too, Catherine? "Ginger? Cinnamon? Hmm......those may be harder to get..." He stroked his chin, one hand on the elbow. Ace looked aside at the Sun hunter, "you're good at coffee?" The tall man didn't fond of coffee, but some was good for keeping him awake in the early morning. The mentioning of Captain made Ace smiled like a happy puppy. "Aya. Sun hunter woke me up, cool beauty. She dresses like a pirate and uses flintlock pistol, so Captain." He returned the thermos to Jordan, eyebrow arched up in amusement, followed by a lopsided smile. "Sure. I heard that Sun hunters focus on offensive skills, so they spar a lot. Is that true?" After his hands emptied, he put on his gloves to protect his well painted nails. A bit slacked, but still fancy. As he twisted his arm to his back, the scythe almost his height appeared to take up the space so that it became him wrapping his arms around the scythe. "I'm ready~"

"Kitchen ought to have ginger and cinnamon," Jordan offered. "Those sound okay." He raised one eyebrow. "If you'd rather have flavored, anyway." "I like coffee," he answered. "Don't know if I'm good at it, but I'd like to think so." "Mm. Don't think I know her personally." Jordan made sure the cap was on the thermos and took a moment to put it down on the ground off to the side. "Yeah, it's a good idea to spar a lot. Doing strength training, exercises, and training against dummies are all good, but keeping up your skills also requires fighting live opponents. Also, it's fun." He grinned. He summoned Ferros as Ace summoned, carrying the massive hammer casually held out to his side, and moved into a defensive stance. "Heavy weapon, I see," he commented, nodding politely to the scythe. "What's their name? This is Ferros." HP: 60/60 Defending for: 3

"Yup, I love spicy stuff." < and sweet.> The man winced mildly hearing that from his weapon. "I like it too, when it's not too sugary. Ugh. "you fond of instant coffee or distilled coffee? Is that someone on the island that will grind their own coffee beans?" He knew for some people, it's a luxury, an enjoyment, for him, it's just something to keep him awake.
He touched the edge of the curved blade, "I doubt the dummies can withstand our attacks? It would cut into half or beheaded when I use my scythe against it. I will remember what you say." Eyebrows arched up in surprise when Jordan poised for defense. "Hmm, you're not attacking?" Ace's eyes flickered away and back, " Ferros. He looked badass, a giant dragon? She's Catherine." The scythe's runes flashed, humming for a short period. <Nice to meet'chu, handsomes.>
The haunt singsonged as Ace swung the scythe to initiate the spar.

"Preferably brewed. I have a grinder, but that's only for when I have extra time to sit down and take my time over it; most mornings I just use packaged grounds." Jordan nodded toward the thermos. "If you like that blend, I have the rest of a small bag you can have. It's not my kind of thing." "Right, but the dummies are designed to be destroyed, and having a target that doesn't move helps you learn to keep your hits consistent and steady. Like learning to throw a ball and hit the same spot each time. Having that kind of control will make you a better fighter." Jordan nodded. "Yeah, he's an iron dragon. Nice to meet you, Catherine," he addressed the scythe. "I want to get a look at how you work together," he explained in answer to the question about why he was defending rather than attacking, and held his stance steady. The scythe came slicing in, striking with a surprising amount of force, and Jordan nodded to himself, twisting Ferros to knock Catherine away from them. A good start. The scythe had about as much reach as the hammer; she wouldn't have the same kind of sheer mass to deal with, but Ace would still have to learn to work with his weapon's size and weight. "Let her weight do some of the work for you," Jordan advised as he stepped in, bringing Ferros around in a lazy half-circle. "With heavy weapons, it's harder to get them going and get them aimed, but once they're moving it's damn hard to stop them. Not calling you fat, Catherine," he added with a glint of amusement, recalling Tracey's occasional disgruntled reactions to mention of his size, "just so that's clear." HP: 52/60 Dmg: 4 Charge: 1/3

"I'd like to take it, thanks Jordan." Ace frankly asked with a smile. "I see your point there but who's gonna fix them, is the organization a wealthy one? How many dummies are destroyed each day?" Not that he cared, but curious on the expenses. < Iron dragon seems cool, this one sounds like a couch, hehe, when did you hire one? ♡> The laughter burst out in Ace's mind all of a sudden made his strike slipped aside, instead of hooking the hammer handle as expected. C-Cat? < Oh myyyyyy he's so funny! Only those bitches who jealous of my size dared to call me fat but they all dissipated ❤> You remember? < Just an impression, I forgot most of it ♡> He heard the rattling of the doll limbs, the haunt seemed to roll on her back. Ace waved his gloved hand, "Nah, I don't aim, mostly I just move my arms freely. She said you're humorous and she liked you." He pulled the scythe up at ease, poised. "I think I need to work on not distracted by my partner's voice and emotions." His shoulders shrugged shortly. HP: 36/ 40

"All right, then. Come by room 207 later then so I can pawn it off on you," Jordan said, smiling. The scythe struck Ferros, a short scrape of metal on metal that bounced off almost as soon as it had made contact. Jordan took a couple of steps back, circling sideways and out of reach; he would make Ace come to him instead of lunging in himself. "Thanks," he said to the scythe with a small smile, and to Ace, "That's a good idea. If you can think together smoothly and you don't have to take the time to use words to talk about your plans and strategy, you can act more quickly." HP: 51/60 Dmg: - Charge: 1/3

"Excellent." Out of Jordan's expectation, Ace didn't lunge forward with his scythe. "It takes time, but honestly I think I learn new things quite quickly so it shouldn't take long." The tall man smirked lazily, swinging the arm holding the scythe. < Ace, it's the time~ ♡> "I believe Cat and I can be good partners like Ferros and you." < Soulmates! Another half! ♡> "I heard only full hunters take the rooms on the second floor, how long have you been on this island? Also, can I go for you?" The runes of the giant scythe gleamed and shimmered low, humming like a death angel. "Do you know any other scythe users?" HP: 36/ 40

Another sliding, glancing strike, just enough for the scythe's runes to light up with a steady glow. Ace seemed to be playing it safe, maybe sizing Jordan up as Jordan was doing to him, relaxed and holding Catherine in a comfortable grip. It wasn't really possible to judge the quality of the bond on a single brief meeting, but Jordan had a good feeling about this one. It was nice to see a pair that seemed to be well fitted together. "I've been here for - mm - about three and a half years," Jordan answered after a moment to think about it. "Moved upstairs when I got my promotion. Hm. Abbi has a scythe, and so does Roland. And Caelius, but I wouldn't suggest asking him for tips." He moved in for a smooth, long sideways swing. "Got a charge? Go ahead. We're in good shape," he nodded as he moved back again. HP: 49/60 Dmg: 7 Charge: 2/3

"Glad to hear that." The man made a lopsided grin, pull one side of his lean torso backward like an arrow drew back on a bow, used his leg on the front as a pivot point and tossed the giant thing out. "That's a long time." Ace said as he received the scythe swirled back to him. "Abbi's the girl with red hair that used a bunch of image icons on her tweets? I don't know that Roland though. Oh the notorious Death Lead, Mr. Caelius, how dangerous is that man? I'd like to see their scythes though." The trainer didn't know what was dangerous meant and asked with a lax tone, rested the snath on his shoulder at one-third counting from the bottom, its toe pointing skyward. "You know the Death Lead well?" He gave Jordan a sideway glance. HP: 29/ 40
