Trifen?! Who cared about them? They were fish weren't they?
“Yer just scared!” taunted Red, the released water falling around her, “Of me!” she said. Her furs were waterlogged now, and it was a labor just walking, but it was pretty clear to Red who had won. She had won. Obviously. She smirked, not noticing, just behind her, a bright orange Triefen who was very interested in the tail of her pelt.
As she tried to approach Esmeralda to continue her belligerence, it decided to strike.
She staggered, trying not to fall backwards into the water. “What the?!” she snarled, turning around to see the fish trying to run off with her pelt, “Ye' little...” she leapt at it, only to have the motion make it easier for it to get a good grip on the tail. With a yank, and with her horns facing forwards, it managed to get it off her head.
Satisfied with its prize, the beast began to swim away... taking her pelt with it.
“Oi!” she shouted, struggling after it, “You give that back! That's mine!” Worse, it was the one thing she had left of her brother. No way was she losing it to some... fish! “Give it back!” she shouted, lunging into deeper water.
It was about then that she realized she couldn't swim, not at more than a doggy paddle, and this coastal current was a little more than she could handle... “Give it...” she garbled, struggling to keep her head above water, “Back!”
