It was time he found his place here, and made all things right in his world. His world revolved around these stormy lands now, and those within it. Specifically, a light in his life, the light pelted female who had shown him his spirit could be lifted, and there was somthing in this world to strive for. The darker female, his amte's counterpart and best friend, seemed wary of his presence, because he was an outsider, but not for long now, he needed to win a challenge - he was a son of war afterall, how challenging could it be?
Though, truth be told, he was born of the lighter side of war you could say. Though his father's strength, he hoped ran through his veins to aid him through this ordeal, he knew he had to stay true to his being.
He came to an open area, cast in an illusion as gods are able, hiding his wings (back and foreleg) from view. They did not even appear as symbols. He did not wish for an easy way in.
He wanted to earn rank, and come home to his mate.
A family, was quickly on the horizon.
He wanted to be there for them.
His roar bellowed across the land, awakening something in his chest - he just hoped it was enough.

Phosphor had taken on many challenges from the rogues that wished to join and he felt as though he knew how to judge those that approached the Stormborn. The goal was not to fight to the death, but rather to test the newcomer to see how they fared in a battle. Rarely was blood drawn with Phosphor. He tempered his strikes, using only his paw and not his claws, and made sure to coach those that seemed to be struggling. He may have been a demon before joining the pride, but that didn't make him evil. He wanted others to join him in his new home and if they needed a bit of help he was glad to give it. The roar that summoned him to the dueling area was much louder than he was used to hearing. Upon seeing the challenger he paused for a moment. He had never seen a lion so perfectly white and so large before. Still, he knew he couldn't turn down the request, and he strode froward with a small grin on his face. "Well met, challenger, and welcome to the Stormborn. I trust you're ready to prove yourself to me?"

K'Anatak waited, and albeit, not for long. Soon came a lion, much darker than himself in base pelt, but with markings like fire and the sun. Very peculiar, although, perhaps something of his families heritage. He himself, bore no markings of his great father's legacy, only a small trinket, a silver band, on his tail, gifted to him and his brother.
A brother whom he wished not to see within these lands.
But besides that, sometimes K'Anatak wondered, what his future brood would appear like would any take on the appearance of his father, their grandfather?
Time would tell soon enough.
K'Anatak nodded to the male, a slight bow of the head for respect, "I have lingered here for a time, and I wish to take my place in the storm." He raised his head high, "do not hesitate," he said with a grin, and he rushed forward.
K'Anatak knew he would have to be careful when approaching.
He'd need to do damage, however, he needed to not have his wings be touched, or else, this lion might think him a strange omen enemy.
when he got close enough K'Anatak made a move, but moved a forearm as a decoy, and swiping his tail like a serpent at the males legs to take them out from under him.

Phosphor returned the little bow of the other male's head before bracing himself. He usually let the challenger take the first attack so he could gauge from the start just what he was up against. He hadn't been raised as a fighter but as a discipline, and while he had gotten used to his 'victim' fighting back, he still wasn't the strongest in paw-to-paw combat. This wasn't the sort of situation where he'd use his training to slowly wear the other down, though. This was an analysis of whether or not this lion would be fit to join the pride. And judging by his first attack, Phosphor knew he'd fit right in. He knew the bluff was coming, but the movements were so fast that he barely had time to react. The strong tail whipped out and caught his front paws as he tried to dart back. Rather than knocking him off his feet, however, it simply jerked him aside and left his legs throbbing. The swift move left the male's backside open, though, so Phosphor pounced on the opportunity. Literally. He didn't use his claws, but let his paws land heavily on the larger male's rump, trying to make his knees buckle. Phosphor wasn't small by any means and he fit right in with the Stormborn even though he hadn't been born here, so even though he was smaller than the white male he hoped his weight could assist him in his attempt at subduing the other.

Although the connection happened, it wasn't as successful as K'Anatak had hoped, but it still got a point across. Though as he passed, the male chose that opportunity to strike. K'Anatak felt no claws, but a weight pressed against him, and his knees gave in, and he felt the wings on his forearms bristle slightly, but he fought the urge.
He wanted a fair test, he did not want to cheat.
There was an obvious sense of tension and thought on K'Anatak's face.
He broke away at the last moment, and grinned, though not with mischief, but with...pride? Dare he say it? That he was able to land an attack?
He better not feel it too strongly, for fear of bringing his brother this way.
K'Anatak shook himself and started forward, his wings wished to widen and flap, causing an upheaval of wind - but he withdrew the thought again. NO, he thought, this must be fair.
So he went head on, aiming to test strength against strength, shoulder against shoulder.

Phosphor knew gods existed. It was hard not to in the Stormborn - there were many that were born from gods, there were those who went in search of gods fro trinkets and battle stories, and having grown up with the demon pride he knew there were gods that would come to visit prides they favored. He didn't know the lion before him was a god, as he had yet to see one in person. but he knew there was something very strange about the other male. Something wasn't quite right. The little gust of wind that kicked up in the otherwise still air made him pause for just a moment, which allowed K'Anatak to charge forward, letting them meet head-on. Even though he threw his weight into the attack, Phosphor was the one that was knocked back. Perhaps he had made the other male's shoulder a bit sore, but he had felt the power behind the attack as he landed on his side. Shaking his head, he picked himself up from the ground with a little grin. "You're very strong," he said, lowering himself into a crouch. He had let the other male attack twice now, and it was time to see how he'd do with an attack directly from the front. Those were always the hardest to defend, as there was even an instinct within lions to freeze up at the sight of a ferocious beast coming for you. He pounced. claws extended and teeth bared. He had no intention of using either, but for the full effect he had to go full on. He'd retract his claws at the last moment, but for now it seemed as though he was intent on drawing blood.

K'Anatak had a small moment os satisfaction - perhaps, perhaps this was going well and he would be fine. he could join Fen..his mate, the loving light he found here, and they would be home in the storm. But his mind fleeting, seeing the male land hard, hearing the words strong, it distracted him. And in a moment, K'Anatak realized the darker male was jumping at him, fang and claw bared.
He would have nowhere to go, if he dodge - a wing would get caught.
So he let the strike connect, full weight, knocking into him, and they both tumbled.
As they hit the ground and rolled, K'Anatak's shoulder ached.
He pushed himself to stand - "You are strong as well," he looked at him, with dark eyes, but K'Anatak's dark eyes were gentle, always gentle.
Perhaps he might let this male know - perhaps.
For now, he rushed forward again, hoping, not to connect to draw blood, just to wind his opponent.
((psst, how many are we up to now? XD <3))

Phosphor was surprised that the lion didn't move, but he rolled with the attack away, pulling his claws in so when he did make contact it was just a hard hit. They rolled together and he got to his feet again in time for the large male to charge once more. His body was already aching from the hit to his shoulder and legs, and he knew this attack would be the last. He leaned into the blow to try to stop the attack, but he was pushed back a few feet in the process, his paws leaving grooves in the dirt. He lowered his head to catch his breath, chuckling quietly to himself. "All right...you've proven yourself," he said, lifting his head. "You're going to do well here, I think. I'm Phosphor and if you ever need help, seek me out." This was why he enjoyed taking challenges - if he found someone that was more than worthy to join, he could learn their name and give them his in return. It wasn't hard to make friends as long as you were courteous, after all. DragonsRage24 One more from each of us and we're all set!

K'Anatak came to stand, catching his breath, and he smiled, feeling not pride, but, success? No. Gain? Not quite. Perhaps a true, solace, a sense of unbridled happiness. "I thank you Phosphor, I am K'Anatak," he said and took another breath closed his eyes and his chest found a calmness.
His wings ached to stretch, but not yet. Not yet.
"I hope to do well here, find my place. If you ever need another paw, call aid on me as well," K'Anatak said with a nod.

Phosphor was glad the lion seemed pleased with his words. Good, he wasn't sure how much longer he could have continued to go full-steam at the lion. He didn't even seem tired! He'd be a good asset to the pride, that was for sure. "K'anatak," he repeated with a little nod, committing the name to memory. "I'll do so. Now go on, go explore," he said with a grin, nodding in the direction of the center of the pride. "I'm sure you're eager to see what it's like." He turned away after that, deciding to walk along the edge of the pride in case there were any other hopefuls. He just hoped they wouldn't be quite as big or strong as the male he had just fought. K'Anatak nodded at Phosphor, and smiled as he turned to make his way. True, he had seen much of the lands thus far, his wings able to carry him. But now, he could do so as a pride member, without worry of being chased out. He could also have it known that he would claim Fen as his own - non-other could do so.
His mate, his life, was here now.
As he left, a brisk wind passed his, and as he left the field where their battle has taken pace, a white feather, seemingly appearing out of nowhere fell swiftly to the ground.
