Strange.

That's how it had been. Receiving a formal invitation to tea had been a happy surprise. The manner in which she had been given the letter with the invitation in it had been nothing less than bizarre. A bird with one eye and greasy black feathers had hopped up to her and nudged her hand with a cream-colored envelope. After she'd taken it, it waited until she'd read the message and muttered aloud that she'd be happy to go before flitting off in a puff of smoke.

Very peculiar. As was to be expected, she supposed, when one was invited to afternoon tea by the Goddess of the Strange. She remembered Contempra from when she was younger while enjoying a leisurely day with her father and they'd spent the afternoon with one another. She distinctly remembered that the other Goddess's tail spoke and bore the name Steam.

Lada was unsure why Contempra and Steam wished to enjoy her company for an afternoon, given that so much time had passed since their initial meeting, but she supposed it would be alright. Now, if only her hand would raise itself so she could knock on the ancient door to the Goddess's Gothic manor. It was a rather hesitant knock, accompanied by a weak "Hello?"

She wasn't nervous, not really. She just didn't want to offend an old acquaintance.

The goddess and sent out the letter a few days before the tea and she had become so excited once the raven returned and told her she was happy to come.She smiled brightly and started to get things ready right away. She had to make sure everything was perfect.

Setting things up in the dining room. It was finally time for her to arrive soon.She was gitty. She kept fixing things even though it looked fine to begin with. It had been so long since she had company...not since her mate and her went their own ways.

She then heard the other at the door and she took a deep breath and headed for the door. She stopped at the door and took a big deep breath and opened it with a huge smile on her face. "Oh darling it has been so long and you have grown so much!"

Lada had been about 10 seconds away from simply giving up and calling it a day when she heard footsteps quickly approaching. She took a quick moment to check her reflection on the nearest shiny surface - unsurprisingly being the gleaming metal knocker she probably should've used instead of her own fist, but that was in the past now. She looked alright, though nervous fingers twitched and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.

And then the door flew open. Lada was immediately struck by how much smaller the other Goddess now seemed, jarred by the difference as their last meeting had had her only coming to Contempra's waist. It was understandable, she assumed, since so much time had passed. Not to mention that her father towered over most people and she had inherited most of her height from him. At the moment, though, she was sort of bowled over by the other Goddess's enthusiastic greeting.

"Ah, h-hello!" she stuttered, smiling at Contempra's obvious giddiness, "It's good to see you, too! You look lovely, as always!"
