Benoni was not one who enjoyed solo missions unless told she had to do it. This outing was not actually a planned one but the twins had put her up to the one and she was not one to take a dare if issued. More so from the twins who were most like her brothers. Even though it often ended her in trouble or looking the fool and worse getting reprimanded by Evron. But if what they told her about this house was true she would return with such treasures that their lord might forgive her acting on her own. She was geared to be a guard but she did want to be more use to her master. Right now he did not need her protection and it looked like he never really would which would mean he might become a guard of the treasure and she did not like being alone in her own head.

She gave a twitch of her head she was thinking too much right now. She flew around the darkened house checking the windows for an open one. She may be a ghost but if she took an item she would need a way to help get it out so an open window would be the easiest for her to use. She found a small unlocked window and was able to open it with nearly no noise.

Benoni moved into the house her eyes already adjusted to the darkness of the night and she moved silently threw the hall towards the rooms she figured were bedrooms. She could start there often people kept the best things there or on display in living rooms. Just being in the house she could tell his person had more than enough treasures to spare. A sick wide smile drew wide over her lips as she neared the first room she would try.

There were three bedrooms in the relatively small cabin. It clearly belonged to a teenager, or perhaps a group of teenage boys. The place had that too-clean feel, that meant someone had been hard at work up until recently. That person was Draven; the dragonite had patiently explained to his trainer, Rhiyn, that dishes needed to be washed after using them. It didn't seem to have made much of a difference; Rhiyn stacked the dishes in the sink as if expecting them to wash themselves and stack them back into the cupboards. Which they did, with the dragonite's assistance.

He'd finished with the kitchen, and had moved into the living room. He'd at least gotten Rhiyn to stop throwing his clothes over the furniture. That'd taken a bit; he knew the man had grown up without needing to do many of the things he had to do now, but he was determined to teach him! He dusted the shelf over the fireplace, and stopped to glance back into the hall.

He stared. There was a girl there. And that girl was not Briar. Nor Claret; he didn't think even if Claret had grown over night, that she would have sprouted wings! "Hey!" he called to her, moving towards her. He crossed his arms. "What do you think you're doing here? You don't belong here." She definitely wasn't one of Rhiyn's pokemon; far as he knew, he, Briar and Claret were his only pokemon. When he reached her, he repeated, "What are you doing here?"

Was she lost? How had she gotten in? Was she one of those criminals the television was always talking about? Rhiyn called them "Hooligans".

Benoni cursed under her breath hearing a voice behind her. She had been sure the lights had been off but it seemed that the one in the kitchen had not been and it had illuminated the room enough to allow her to be seen. She though did not turn but instead ducked into the closest room. She was not proud of this moment and if she did well she would not tell the twins what had happened.

Inside the room there were quiet a few expensive looking items all around and she had a feeling that the person who spotted her would be hot on her trail so she looked for a place to high but some objects glinting in the moonlight caught her attention and she floated over to them her jacket covered hands picking up the gems and broaches looking at them.

The girl didn't say anything, she didn't look towards him. Was she deaf, or something? He'd clearly told her she didn't belong. He'd heavily implied that she needed to leave. He followed her into his room, frowning. "Hey, get out. This is my room," he explained, tapping an impatient foot. He saw what she was looking at, and almost smirked. The brooches were from a costume store he'd found in town; he was fond of dressing up the suits he tended to wear. They were nothing more than shiny, cut glass.

"You can get those in town," he said. So this was one of the hooligans Rhiyn had talked about. They broke into homes and they stole what was valuable, sometimes they hurt people. This girl didn't seem to be that type. He wasn't particularly worried about his safety, nor the safety of the others in the cabin. "I think I got them for about two dollars each. I thought they'd look nice paired with my suits. I could show you where to get them, if you'd like?"

Anything to get her out of the house. Before Briar woke up and was frightened, before Rhiyn woke up and did something rash.

So she had choose the wrong room. It was his room so of course he would follow her here. She was doing a horrible job on her first solo thieving. She gave a sigh and looked over the jewelry in her hands. So this was all fake. She heard him still talking and the items were getting less and less valuable. She could not go back all proud with what she had only to have them declared as worthless. Why was she trying to think so much? When she thought things started to get confusing and mixed up in her head.

She was not super smart but she knew that store were closed during the night so even if he showed her she could not get in. Though of course if it was closed and no one was there she could sneak in and steal. Oh no there she was thinking again. Her head twitched as she tried to shut out the thoughts. Her copper eyes scanned the room looking for something a bit more expensive. She set the fake things down and moved to grab a jewelry box. Surely there was something real in there.

She slowly turned to look at him. She did not like how close he was. If he drew any closer she would attack him even if what she was holding grasping was useless.

While Draven may not have minded the cheap gems and brooches being stolen, he certainly seemed to mind when she put her hands on the jewelry box. He meant to give that to Briar as a Valentines gift. There was a crystal rose within it, something he'd carefully chosen from a store. It wasn't Briar's favorite flower; and he supposed he could have custom ordered one, but he'd heard a single red rose meant romance. In some sort of flower language, he didn't understand it. This one wouldn't wilt; it wasn't alive. It would, hopefully, last forever.

"Give that back!" He growled, moving towards her. If she didn't return it, he would be forced to attack. "Look, you can take anything else you like, but not that. Just give it back." He wanted to surprise Briar with it. He wanted to see her face light up when she opened the box.

"I'll use hyperbeam," he warned.

Benoni's smile grew wider. So this box was what was important. She wondered what it was that was really inside of it. She pulled the box closer to her body now and shifted to face him. As he moved closer to her she back up ready to leap out the window or the door. Since the window was closed she would half to go out the door but he was blocking her so she moved to crouch above his bed trying to get him to clear the door.

"I can use it as well. We can use it on each other." She made is found like it would be fun her voice happy and excited. She would fight if she had too but she wanted the box even more now since he wanted it so much.

"Then I'll use dragonrage on you instead," Draven wasn't sure how he felt about a thief being able to use his favorite move, and he wasn't sure how he felt about a bug type using it. "Look, just give it back. It's a present," he explained, "For the girl I like, and I don't want to have to go out and get another," he supposed he could though, he wasn't all that short with his allowance. He could buy her another rose, even if he wouldn't be able to replace the jewelry box.

"It's just a glass flower," he attempted to reason with her. She was clearly one of those hooligans who would break into homes and steal things to get a bit of money. "I don't want to fight, really..." But he would. Outside. If he had to. "Could you just give it back? Please? You can keep the jewelry box."

The effect of his threat of his move did not seem to have the desired effect he had intended. Instead of looking fearful the Shednija's smile only grew wider. "Oh a fight we can do that if you wish." She gave a rather warmed little giggle and then her tilted head looked down at the box in her head, "If you can get more rich boy go and get more." She found herself hating the fact that he said he could get more. If he could go and get more why did he need this one. It was not irreplaceable. So why could she not take it to the clan? It did not make sense to her.

She did stop when he said what it was. A glass flower? How did a flower turn to glass? She tilted her head to the other side her smile fading a bit as she started to ease open the box to see this strange thing he mentioned. "How can flower turn into glass...rich boy trying to trick Benoni?"
