Methone yawned as she sat on the park bench. Powered an all, but seemingly useless as she lazed about.
There wasn't much action after the whole kidnapping thing with a lot of the senshi and knights, and she thought it was probably good.
Or the Negaverse could be on the lowdown, waiting for another opportunity.
She felt the the blink of some sort of energy and waited for it to come closer. Lithiasaur Look at this lame start...

Merlinite was having a pretty bad run of things lately, when he stopped to think about it all. Somehow he had managed to get himself in such a mess, he was in well over his head at this point. There was no way for him to get out of it, and he suddenly found himself at the service of a very furious and slightly deranged Negaverse General.
When he bent over backwards to save her life, he had not seen things turning this way. She treated him like he was her servant, but there was a clingy need to her, as well, that he could not ignore. She wanted him there, though she did not seem to know how to say it.
Or was he projecting that onto her, because he felt like he needed to keep an eye on her after how close to dying she had come, in his care?
Merlinite felt an aura nearby and moved toward it, tilting his head as he approached. He did not feel particularly social or antagonistic today, so he stood awkwardly, watching Methone thoughtfully, with a bit of confusion on his face.

The aura got stronger and finally, as she could tell, it was a captain of the negaverse. Stronger then herself. She would stand no chance in fighting him.
"Oh look here..." She crossed a leg, and rested her elbow on the top of her knee. "Don't be shy Handsome, I don't bite hard." She smiled widely, even lazily, like a smirk.
"Can I help you with something handsome?"

Merlinite was usually game for flirting and being reckless, but right now his confidence was shaken, and he was doubting everything about himself. He did not know who he was, so to speak, so knowing how to respond when a senshi teased him made him a little nervous.
He was not a fan of the uncertainty, and tried to hide it behind a scoff and a grin.
"The name is Merlinite, not handsome, but that's close enough. You're not a shy one, are you? That, or you think your feminine wiles are strong enough to distract potential enemies. I don't really care either way." He shrugged his shoulders, but it was a relief to not just be attacked out right.
If he could avoid fights at this point, he would. It was just too much to take in, and with Painite calling the shots for him at the moment, he was already in too deep. He did not need any more trouble.
"So, what, you just sort of sit and wait and hope a male walks by and notices your legs, or what?"

"Shy, no." She smiled, "I haven't been shy since my mother popped me out of the womb. Why waste time on delicacies?"
She paused, "It's a pleasure to gaze upon you Merlinite, and yes, far handsomer then you think." Her smile widened. "But you look troubled Handsome, and through my wiley womanly charms, perhaps I can help you."
She laughed deeply, switched one leg over the other and ran a hand down them.
"I'm glad you noticed them." She laughed again and patted the seat next to her. "It seems you aren't the type to attack first, questions later so why don't you sit down next to me handsome and let me know whats up."

Merlinite made a face, but it was thoughtful as much as it was teasing. He supposed she had a point. There was no point being shy or beating around the bush. He had never believed so, after all.
Being shy or awkward was not the way to climb up the ladder and get to the top of it, after all. He would step on anyone, and lie to the faces of the people he was supposed to care about or work with. He would do anything he needed to, to be number one.
Or that was how easy it used to be.
Sighing, he moved to sit next to her despite his better senses. He did not care about how she went about talking to him.
"I don't know what's up. I don't even really know what I'm supposed to be doing any more. I don't think it matters. Maybe I'm just starting to realize that my place in this whole war thing is to always be under someone else's thumb." He knew she did not really care about his problems, and she certainly did not understand what he was talking about, but why not talk about it? It wasn't like he had friends to chat it out with.

She accommodated by moving over her spot just a little, but wrapped a arm around the back of the bench and leaned over him just a little. It looked like, to outsiders looking in, a intimate couple just sitting together on a bench.
A very weirdly dressed couple.
"That's a dilemma huh?" Methone hummed, her free arm coming over to gently play with his jacket. "Tired of being someone's...assistant?" little b***h would've been better but Methone wasn't stupid, and she had no room to speak. She was living safely under Castor's and Flora's shadow until she grew herself.
"It's hard for us weaker ones isn't it?" She leaned back, "What else can we do but what were told? We can't fight whoever it is giving us the orders." She shrugged, her voice taking on a agreeing tone. "It seems thinking of what and where my place in this war is another waste of time. It's been raging on for a 1000 years, it's not gonna stop because I popped out as a senshi." She looked over at him, "I don't know what the goal of the negaverse is, I'm just told to fight. So I do."

"I wouldn't say I was weaker," he said petulantly, shaking his head. He still had a little bit of pride, and it bristled pointlessly at the idea of having to admit his own weakness, though he really needed to just come to terms with a few things. He would be better off for it, surely.
"I'm not anyone's assistant. Or... I wasn't until just recently, and I'm not really her assistant, anyway. I was just helping her and she sort of... well. It's complicated."
He wasn't sure he should be sharing his woes with her, anyway. He was so desperate to talk about it, he was not really being very careful. He knew nothing about her, after all, and was not about to willingly get himself into more trouble... or was he?
"I never cared what I was doing or who was giving orders. I always just thought if I kept at it, I would be the top dog, and I'd get my own little peons to order around. Now I don't even think I want that. I don't know."

"Sounds like she's using your good will to her benefit handsome." Methone examined a nail, "Assistant maybe not to you, but she's got you wrapped around her finger. Sounds like you just became her dog." And when women had dogs, it was because they needed someone to throw under the bus or use as a meat shield.
That's what she would do if she was terrible like that.
"I want little peons." She added, "I'm lazy, I don't want to work. So far though, its the opposite." She rose an eyebrow. "Whats the negaverse offer anyways that order doesn't? Why stick with a side that climbs over each other?"

And he knew it was as accurate an assessment as it could be. He was not a man of his own freedom any more, after all. Painite ruled over him because he was terrified of her. He did not regret helping her or anything like that, but he wished things had turned out differently. If he knew just what he was bringing back into the world...
Would that have made a difference? Would he have not saved her?
It didn't matter: nothing changed what was happening now. She was back. She was scary. And she was using him.
"I don't know. The way Painite acts... she seems all Chaos all the time and I... am worried, I guess, I'm going to lose myself like that. I don't know what kind of a person she was before... but she had to be a person right? At some point. She's not any more. What if that happens to me?"
He was talking to a complete stranger that mostly just looked like she wanted to jump his bones.

Methone frowned, shifted herself so that she could straddle Merlinite in a sort of way and drew his face up in her hands to look at her. Obviously she wasn't shy, but she was more concerned that this guy, this stranger would sink into a self loathing darkness.
Those were dangerous.
"You don't have to be chaos Handsome." Methone whispered, "You don't have to lose yourself if you don't want too, there is better ways." She paused to play with the collar of his jacket.
"I've heard of purification. I know a prince if you want one. I can talk to him." She cocked her head, "If that's something you're interested in anyways. No one has to know, it'll be small and simple and quick." Methone had no idea if Castor would even agree but if Merlinite wanted an option, she wouldn't not offer it.
"Maybe it'll get you out of this funk you're having."

Merlinite looked at Methone in surprise, not expecting such direct contact, considering. He watched her carefully as she held onto his face, shaking his head slowly against her palms.
"I don't..."
He wasn't sure what to say, or how to escape the doubt that was clinging to him. She was saying all the things he wanted to hear, but hearing them just scared him more. He felt like the Negaverse would find out, would somehow be able to see this whole thing, and see him for the traitor he was.
"No, I don't want to talk to anyone. I don't want anyone to find out about it... I just... I just need to think for a while. Just don't tell anyone, okay? I just have to figure out... I don't know. But if Painite finds out about any of this, she'll come after you and kill you. And probably everyone you're friends with. It's not safe. I should... I should go, before she notices I'm not around."

Methone's grip loosened on his face, allowing for him to move around. If he really wanted to as well, he could push her off and away from him.
"It's for you to decide handsome, but perhaps this is the answer you keep searching for, the one you are trying desperately to reach." She cooed in his ear before shifting. "But like I said, it's up to you handsome, and I am nothing here but a stranger."
His fear made her brow raise, and the excuse of protection was enough for her to slowly climb off him, without leaving in front of him.
"I understand handsome, go back to your general. Think about the offer." Methone put a finger to his lips. "Your secret is safe with me till you make a descision. If and when you want to, come find me. Perhaps I can help you. Make the transition a little easier." She winked, giving him a coy smile. "Don't worry prince Charming, She'd have to beat the prince...or Flora." Both of the two exceptionally strong. "But really, I'll leave you to your thoughts for now." She leaned down and placed a very gentle quick kiss on his lips and winked again.
"Look for the lights for me handsome." She laughed a little as she walked away, "Be safe on your way home tonight."
