The war had been over for some time and Sawenah had been laying low since she betrayed everything and everyone she knew on a foolish fantasy that the land of Tendaji could be united under a single banner. She had whole heartedly believed Corvik; believed they were working to make everything right, but it was all a lie that she was naive enough to believe. How could she ever return? How could she face the people she cared for; what would she say to Biroki or Takoda... she looked at the feathered necklace dangling from her neck and tears began to stream down her face, "What have I done?" She whimpered to herself.
Collapsing in a heap she laid her spear at her feet, curled her knees to her chest and laid her face to her knees and sobbed. How could she ever bring herself to return to Tendaji? In all this time she had claimed to be orphaned and not have a home, yet staring out at the forest of Jauhar she had never felt so homesick.

Arkesh was almost out of the woods (or rather into them) He had been running for days and had some close calls with the Sand's spies, as well as the royal guard. God's how did he find himself in this situation? He was on the most wanted list of the Oban royal army, as well as the Red Sands, two of the most powerful and influential forces second only to the gods.
Arkesh found himself in one of the border settlements. Tivrod, full of unsociable wood workers and other busy bodies; and lots of spies. While Oba failed to bring the other nations under the empire, there were many who still kept spies and forces close to the border. Nobles are a paranoid sort and keep their enemies close. This meant, that even though he was in the last worthwhile settlement in Oba he still had a ways to go before getting into Jauhar. He hoped that meant freedom.
He had been in the area for a day or so and was trying to get enough money for supplies. He had stolen an abundance of silks and fabric from one of the stores in the capital before he left. He figured he would be able to pass as an unassuming traveling merchant until he could find a place to hide out and recoup. But he was dry and dusty and looked like a mess. Perhaps that would make him look even less like himself and get buy easier. His cracked lips begged for relief but the look in Johari's eyes got the better of him. She was thirsty too and he placed half of his remaining water out for her. While she drank he began dusting off and pulling out the silks packed on her back.
He laid out a few to display so that he might try and sell or trade some. Arkesh got excited when a couple heavy purses (his word for rich folks) came by to look at his wares. He put his salesmen act on. "Ah yes! You won't find silks this fine outside the capitol! True quality for reasonable prices." "Won't find better outside the capitol he says," Said the older man to the younger woman.
"Hmmn, I better get a closer look." The pair leaned in and held some of the fabrics to better examine them.
"Yes feel free to touch them, that's how you can tell the quality. Strong but light and soft as a virgin's thigh." Arkesh replied, with much enthusiasm.
The woman blushed a little then started, "These are just like Razzahn's back home don't you think? He makes the best silk you know. It's a shame his store got broken into."
The man lifted the end of one to feel it for himself. His face made a frown. uh oh, this wasn't good. He could see the man make the connection in his eyes. Bad luck, who would have guessed someone who actually knew the store he stole them from would be way out here! Arkesh had to act quickly. He quickly grabbed the three rolls that were partially laid out and threw them at the two. It was enough of a distraction for Arkesh to untie Johari and start running.
"Guards! Guards! Arrest him! Thief!" The couple had raised the alarm and Arkesh needed to disappear quick!

Sawenah wiped the tears from her cheek and sniffled as she glanced back at the village. She had only been a few yards outside Tivrod, and could hear some sort of a commotion going on in the usually peaceful logging community. Strange, she couldn't recall seeing any guards since she had been staying in Tivrod... Rising to her feet she scooped up her lance and started a slow cautious shuffle back to the village.Elf Princess Flannery D8 small post. You got all the action in your upcoming post XD I can't do much or I'll ruin it~ Also, Feel free to disarm her in your next post... She doesn't have a very tight grip on her weapon and it'd be easy to catch her off guard.

"No no no no no, On'os save me!" Arkesh prayed as he ran from the guards. He looked back to see two guards after him. "I just need to ditch these guys." He was nearing the edge of the town and he thought he would take a fast corner to try and loose them. Arkesh was looking back when he whirled around the corner and was abruptly stopped when he ran into a person. Who ever it was he hit them pretty hard and he was pretty sure his head smashed theirs because it was throbbing. He was half laying on top of them and saw a spear fall and land some distance away. It occurred to him that this person might try to hurt or capture him too. He quickly scrambled to grapple them and he found their knife.
"Too late, no time left." The guards were too close now and he needed an escape plan. Without thinking much into it he pulled the knife to the poor person he knocked heads with and tried to get them up. He would try and use them as a hostage so he could get away. "Well, it's a first time for everything."akuma_kessaku Let me know if I need to change anything!!!! D: i hope all this is okay, if not i will change it

She had neared the commotion..... Wait, That was the commotion nearing- There was a flash of pain, she felt herself fall, or someone fell on her? It was a bit of a blur. All she knew is her head was throbbing and she felt herself being drug to her feet. There was something cold pressed to her throat and though she could have swore she was holding her lance moments ago... she found herself disarmed and in a hostage situation. s**t.
"Ummm-" She murmured in a bit of a panic as she scrambled backward with her captor, "W-What's going on here?" Sawenah grabbed firmly to his arm for balance as she pressed against the Oban's body to keep her neck from the blade's edge. The guards rounded the corner and skid to a halt as the came upon Arkesh with the mixed earthling, "Face it Arkesh, Its over. You can't get away from this." Indicating for his men to stay back one of the guards crept forward, "Put the girl down before you do something you're going to regret."

Arkesh held the girl tightly and continued step back farther away from the guards.
"Not today! I can't go back now, you know as well as I, I'll be hung before mid day!"
One of the guards tried to make an advance.
"Don't you move! If you do she's dead! I'm a dangerous man don't threaten me!" Arkesh's voice sounded ever desperate.
"Johari!" He called to his xaraan, she wasn't much of a fighter but she knew enough to trample the guards. In his anxious state, Arkesh grabbed the girls hair and started to drag her along so he could run and make his escape. He figured he would let her go as soon as the guards were off him. They were all but sprinting and one guard was trying to get up while the other was wrestling with the kicking xaraan.
"I'll let you go as soon as we loose the swords, but you better not fight me!" he tried to threaten his hostage as he ran with her.akuma_kessaku again if this is to much please slap me

You've got to be kidding... After everything she's been through this is how she's going to go? She felt the blade slip and nick the side of her neck. she let out a hiss of displeasure as she felt blood beginning to pool and trickle down her neck; it wasn't deep but it still stung.
When the bird burst through the guards the blade was removed from her neck, but the oban grabbed tight to her hair and took off at a sprint for the forest. Keeping her head down she winced and gritted her teeth through the pain of being drug along. "Fight you?!~" She snarled, "With what? You left my weapon in the village!" b*****d's lucky she had no particular attachment to the lance,or this hostage might not have been so cooperative.
They twisted and tangled through the trees until it was so dark she couldn't tell if her eyes were closed or open... And then they adjusted. She stared out into the trees and knew she wasn't in oba anymore~
Their pace slowed and she hit his elbow joint hard until he released her, then proceeded to slap him so hard he fell to the earth. Sawenah stepped away from the fugitive and crossed her arms,"You deserved that... For more than you know." She looked around and paled slightly, "I shouldn't be here..." She whimpered, feeling the pain boiling up from her stomach. Maybe they wouldn't recognize her? Maybe she wouldn't even see them. Anything's possible, right? They have lives of their own and surely wouldn't be looking for her.
