She was getting close to promotion, she felt, even if hours of countless training showed that her aim hadn't gotten better. It was a small concern in the back of her mind that she wouldn't be suited for Sun if this kept up, but there was no point in worrying about it right now. All she could do was keep moving forward. Claude idly tapped the barrel of her pistol in the open palm of her hand, scanning the training field for someone to spar. "Hey." She called out when someone passed. "I'm looking for a spar."

Rep had been all but staking out the training fields since crossing H, doing what he could to try and recoup the fear that Marie had taken, to placate the demanding creature and in turn return Tracey's own fear to a level that would hopefully alleviate the pain and let him ******** rest. If it didn't well... he had no idea what hed do.
All that remained in the interim was picking fights with as many people as he possibly could.
He was relieved he didn't need to start a fight with the unfamiliar woman, instead giving her a huge toothy grin. "Well ye've come to the right ******** place then." he said, tossing his two-tone hair out of his eyes. "That I can help you with."

Great. It was something of a fresh relief to find someone else enthusiastic about sparring. Claude did a once over of her opponent, since this was the first time she had seen him, and noted the heavy scarring on his face. Ah. Wait. He had a Scottish accent too, and she was immediately reminded of her meeting with America, who did a (poor) impersonation of someone Scottish talking about scars. Hm. Maybe she was talking about this guy? Claude gave a firm nod of her head and raised her pistol in preparation. "Ready when you are." She told him.

Rep did not take much time to step back and summon Tracey, the axe still a sorry state, all broken fractured gaps, still tightly bound up in Marie's coils. He didn't attack first, giving the pistol a curious look. Guns, he ******** hated guns, they were the worst possible thing to fight, his opponent could have theoretically unlimited range while his own was tightly confined to the reach of the axe, despite how ample said reach could be.
He nodded. "Likewise."
He refused to let himself get worn down by how badly he was going to inevitably get thrashed. All that mattered right now was the fear, any amount of fear and he'd be ******** golden.

Once again, it was a curious thing to be surprised here on Deus, and for the second time in a short length of time, she was. The guy's weapon looked like, for a lack of better words, a ******** wreck. It just didn't seem 'normal'. Her usually impassive expression was tuned to curiosity. Damn. With his consent to get this underway though, Claude took the first shot, and fired. Immediately after, she got ready to start moving for when he'd come after her. HP: 40 / 40

He knew it was going to hurt. <******** guns. he thought irritably as he charged after her, Tracey behind him. But if there was one surprising thing about Rep, it was that he could move startlingly fast when he had to. Not by the conventional method of running (because with a weapon like Tracey running was enormously off-balance) but instead he leapt, clearing several meters as he launched himself at his target, slamming down Tracey on Claude's fear shield, still slighted at the lingering sting of the bullets.
"Knew it was going to ******** hurt" he grunted

The trainee tensed, expecting the other to have to run at her before swinging. She was caught off guard when he leapt instead, and cleared a large distance with that single leap. Even with his weapon fractured she was thankful for the shield as it bore down on her. After taking the hit she dashed away from him once more, twisting her torso to fire back at him but missing. She was going to stay on her toes this fight, especially after seeing him move. "What's wrong with your weapon?" She asked after a moment. HP: 34 / 40

"I crossed the wrong people one too many times." Rep explained. "He's fear starved or something, least that's what I've been able to figure out since fighting seems to make him - and me - feel better." Indeed these spars were about the only time when the constant maddening pain of the situation abated.
He leapt again, slicing in with Tracey at the other hunter's collarbone. "So you are ******** helping me out." he said with a smirk.

She eyed his weapon still as he said this. "Ah." Was all Claude uttered in response, though she supposed it was good to know. There was a lesson to be learned from others. "Glad to be of service, I suppose." She drawled but he was a means to an end as well. Damn, she couldn't get over that leaping he did. She was struck and pushed backwards. Claude returned fire, and afterwards started to move again to be less of an easy target. HP: 28 / 40

"Don't be that way." he crooned with an edge of endearment. "I'm gratefulll." and his words oozed with pleasantness, able to do nothing but eat the damage to his shield (damn guns, he thought) before running after the other hunter. He leapt, swung and only managed to clip Claude as she moved away. "I'll be real gentle. Just hold sssstill."

Admittedly, she found that amusing, and it showed in her soft snort. She did a better job of dodging his this time, hoping all this time spent sparring was actually starting to pay off. She shot back, but it was weak at best. The plus side was that Ula hummed pleasantly, ready to let off a charge, and she supposed she'd give to him, since he was ******** being gentle." The trainee deadpanned at him. "That'd be a waste of time." She switched her pistol to her other hand, and realizing she didn't know his name yet, went about rectifying that. "Claude." She introduced herself, belatedly. HP: 25 / 40

"Rep." he replied, looking delighted. "And its no very often I meet a b***h who has good opinions." He found himself warming despite himself to the cold and focused huntress he was up against. "Some people on this ******** island want to be treated with kid gloves, nae balls where it counts"
And he swung again, content to deal with the distance he couldn't close by using Tracey's reach as best he could.

Rep. Noted. Hm. Being labeled a b***h when she hadn't done anything (yet) wasn't the greatest, but oh well. She said nothing in reply, except arching a brow. Kid gloves, huh? She hadn't met anyone who fit that description while sparring yet. Keeping her distance seemed to be working for the time being, and Claude turned, bracing her pistol with both of her hands and pointing it at Rep. The runes glowed brighter, but when she pulled the trigger the flint of her pistol let off a spark. Nothing happened after. Damn. Claude's eyes lidded as she took to moving again. That was the first time her charged attack failed. "Did you used to be a Sun?" She asked, glancing at him over her shoulder. HP: 24 / 40

Rep didn't comment on the charge, he'd been braced for it - insomuch as he could brace for anything lately with his dubious shield capacity - but he knew the pain of a mis-charge all too well. He instead addressed her question. "Aye. For a long time." He dropped into his spread legged fighting stance again.
"Long long assed time. It got too preachy in the end. Too many ******** politics around what to hit and when to hit it."

Ah ha. So this was definitely the same person America had told her about. Curious. Claude noted he seemed rather civil right now...but she was certain that was because she hadn't spent a long period of time with him. Or maybe they'd gotten off on an okay foot. Hm. Claude tried to shoot, but ended up just missing him by a hair. "And other divisions have less politics about what to hit and when?" She questioned, quirking a brow. HP: 24 / 40
