Rene sighed fingering the plastic bands around his wrist lightly. Fall risk. He snorted. Yeah right. If he was a fall risk why did the doctor just tell him he could get up and start to move about. Just cause he passed out before didn't make him a risk now did it? The teen snorted again. Whatever. Eyeing his IV Drip for a moment, Rene slipped from his hospital bed with a small wince. Slowly the teen edged himself out of his room, only stopping long enough to find a nurse and tell her where he was going if anyone should come to look for him. Luckily, as it turned out, Rene's room wasn't too far down the hall (and around a corner but honestly who's keeping track) from Chris' room, slipping in the door and closing it behind him just as Brahms's Lullaby came over the speakers in the hallway. The dark haired boy then dragged himself into the chair closest to Chris' bed, plopping in it with a groan. Rene scrubbed at his face, mindful of the tube on his arm, trying not to bed it too much before he looked at Chris, giving him a lopsided grin. "...Well that all could have gone exceedingly better... Next year I vote we stay home and have a movie marathon or something." Rene really didn't want to do that again... Ever. Even bandaged up, Chris still looked like crap. So it made Rene feel pretty bad that he was atleast able to hide his wounds under a shirt. "How you feeling?" Guine AHAHAHA 8| Had this typed up, forgot to hit submit

Chris was alone for the moment. While Paris insisted on not leaving his side, she did have to eat and his mother had convinced her to take a small walk to try and gain back some of her strength. At least she was doing better. They all were now that they were out of that place.
“Rene,” he let out a sigh of relief in the sound of his friend’s name. He wanted to get out of bed and hug him and make sure he wasn’t any more injured than he looked… But the nurses had a close eye on him, as he’d already attempted to escape from his bed before. Even still, it was rather embarrassing for people to see him like this. He felt pathetic and helpless and hated that. “I’m fine,” he exaggerated, ignoring the fact that he’d more or less been fed oxygen for a couple days, his hands were completely bandaged, and there was a bandage covering part of his left eye and eyebrow. Most everything else was at least hidden by clothing. At least he’d regained the use of his voice.
“Are you okay? You shouldn’t have gone in there… what if…” What if he’d been hurt or killed? All in an attempt to save him and the others? Chris didn’t think he would be able to live with that guilt.[Mistress Morbid] I am horrible for not tagging this for so long. I’m so sorry. ilu QQ

"You look like a pirate." Rene said, making a circular motion with his finger at eye level. "Not saying it's a bad look for you, but I don't think that will work with your work uniform." He teased. "Then again, we could always just start calling you Odin." Was now the time for jokes? Maybe not. But they probably both needed a good laugh.
Rene sulked in his chair as Chris started the 'You shouldn't have done that' speech. "I'll live." He said, hiking up the bottom of his shirt just high enough for Chris so see a large gauze pad plastered to his side, over his hip. "I'll have two scars from getting hit but that is it. However, I do think I passed out on Sessrumnir though." She said with a slight cringe. He wasn't sure if it was just from blood loss or a mix of that and an adrenaline crash. "I remember walking out with him, but then next thing I knew I was being shaken awake so the doctors could get my info. He wasn't there." Not that he knew Sess's other name. But Rene thought it would be hard to miss someone as tall as the brunette. "So there's that. Some way to start off being a squire.."
"And don't give me that. You would have done the same thing if I was me instead of you or Paris. I went in there because my Family was in danger. With these memories of a ******** up future, I really didn't feel like losing you guys again." Rene sighed, rubbing at his eyes again. "As it is I feel bad, because I basically ignored everyone else that was captured. I was focused on only getting the two of you out. It might have been easier if I just stayed with everyone else instead of running off with Themi." Rene glanced at the room door, thankful for how sound proof these places were. "I died.. In that future, I mean. Kind of. I would have rather died saving you two, then have to repeat what happened there anytime."
Rene side eyed his friend. "Though if you really wanna think I'm nuts. I almost died when I was super little. Or so I've been told." Chris was just gonna put him under surveillance after this. He could feel it in his bones. "The point is though that I'm fine. You and Paris are both alive. And that's what matters."Guine He's a helpless dolt I swear.

He stared at Rene as if his friend had just grown another head. At first he didn’t know how to react to the jokes, but soon he relaxed against the pillows and showed Rene a tired smile. If he was any stronger he probably would have laughed, but as it was he wanted Rene to know he was appreciative of his efforts.
Chris was a curious to hear his brother’s powered name, but figured there were probably plenty of people that they both knew. They couldn’t seem to stay out of trouble, after all. “I’m sure he’s around. Hospitals creep him out…” he offered, knowing Michael had only been there to see him when he’d first been admitted. Since then he’d been absent.
Still, Chris knew he couldn’t really argue with him. He knew if the roles had been switched he would have gone in as well, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t still nag at his friends and family for putting themselves in danger.
“We’re not going anywhere…” Chris said, although he knew it had been a close call. He was in critical condition by the time he’d been brought into the hospital. Blood poisoning caused by the infection from the wound he’d received from Buddingtonite had nearly done him in. But that was of little concern now. At the moment he was more worried about the fact that Rene decided to tell him now that he’d almost died when he was little.
“Wait, what happened?” he asked, letting out a groan. He knew it had been years ago, but that didn’t mean he had to like it.

"Oh come on it was funny and you know it." Rene crossed his arms in his defense, but returned Chris' smile with one of his own. "I'd say we could make Sess Thor.... But he probably brags enough." That, and did he really need a hammer to throw at people? He already ran at walls like he was a freaking football player.
"I suppose I can't argue with that logic. I use to think that way too. Hospitals are pretty neat though really. Always busy, but still pretty neat." He wondered, if the knight had gotten any major injuries that night, or if he simply brushed them off like nothing ever happened.
"You better not... You really don't wanna hear what I ended up doing in those ******** up memories." Rene sighed, stretching his arm slightly. The IV drip itched like hell, but he didn't want to touch it.
Rene actually laughed as he listened to his friend groan. "Nothing super serious. This was from when I was like...For or five or so? I don't remember how old I was. I just know I was little. I'd been playing by a pool edge and I guess my sister and I started getting into a fight and..." Rene just cocked his head with a small smile. "Well, you can figure what happened. I didn't have any swimmies or whatever on so I ended up inhaling a bunch of water. Mom said something about blacking out and not breathing." His mother still wouldn't completely tell him what happened, she always got super clingy whenever she attempted to. "So because of that, you're looking at a nineteen year old who doesn't know how to swim and will absolutely lose his s**t if you even joke about throwing me in the pool. However, I will be the designated beach guy who watches your stuff."

Chris stared at Rene for a long time after his story about almost drowning before shaking his head slowly. “That’s a horrible reason not to learn how to swim,” he sighed and leaned back against the pillows. The last thing he needed was to find out that a friend of his drowned because he never learned how to swim. “At least learn how to float,” he offered as compromise.
Still, it was a relief to see Rene, despite how battered they both were, and how much they and everyone else they knew had gone though. The fact that they were able to survive what they’d been through was, well… promising. Maybe one day they would be able to come out on top of this war. Not this day, but one day.
He knew Alexandria didn’t have to risk his life the way he did. None of them had to, but in the end it was probably what saved them. He appreciated it, even though he didn’t like how they could have been killed.
“Thank you,” he said softly after a few moments of silence. “For everything.” [Mistress Morbid] Omg I'm so sorry for the delay. We can probably call this FIN, or you can post again if you'd like. QQ

"I mean, don't get me wrong. I tried to learn. But I always ended up panicking and chickening out at the last second." Rene shrugged lightly. "No one's ever really been able to keep my mind off of it you know? Like... I can get on boats, ferries and the like okay. I panic a little at first but as long as I don't end up in the water I can talk myself through it. It must be pretty pathetic though huh? Being scared of water of all things." Rene scrubbed at his face. "A Mercury knight who's scared of water. Can you believe it? Maybe it's a good thing I'm not part of Neptune or Uranus..." Rene suddenly wanted to shrink into his chair and disappear.
"What are you thanking me for? I told you. You both are family... you're suppose to help each other out right? I would have done it for any of you, and that includes your brothers. I don't want to see you guys get hurt again." He was glad for the change in topic. "I wasn't going to leave you there. Either of you."
