Oh was Malta busy. A healers work was never done, and Threadfall made that truer than most anything else. There were so many current patients – some dragonriders not quite ready to get back on their feet or their wing, some injured by firestone or running, or generally being foolish, and, always, the normal injuries of the wherhold – that Malta had temporarily moved herself to emergency second shift – as in, only going in in the second greenrider shift if their added strength was needed - to help with the healing load. With her, there were just enough experienced healers to handle the apprentices and injuries and properly triage.

Poecileth, though not flying for now, was being useful anyway, doing a lot of carrying of supplies and people and, though it suited them far more than fighting Thread, Malta knew it was but a temporary reprieve.

The young dragons were growing quite well. Already they were half a Turn old and Vosin was very much looking forward to the start of flying lessons. She was rather proud by the growth of her dragon and the filling of muscles. All that hard work of washing, oiling, and feeding needed to be shown off somehow.

She had her ears out and noticed all the thread falling lately. Vosin had helped fill plenty of firestone sacks that morning, so she knew they were being used. With clear skies, Vosin had decided to go walking with Killakeeth. The pair mossied down the wherbowl and lingered around the infirmary entrance. All the Thread would have caused injuries, plus usual rider shenanigans always had someone in and out of the hall. She peeked in curiously with her brown flit perched on her shoulder.

The young gold held herself proudly. She was on show for all to see and knew it. Killa was moving past the stage of needing such special feeding and was starting to eat her meat from the bone. No longer did she just eat and sleep. She flicked her tail as she gazed around.

Malta, of course, was busy as hell. Reprieve or not, there was much to be done because one didn't know when the next horrible hellish tragedy would hit. The last fall had been bad, and it's aftermath left no time for much else. She was no Masterhealer, for sure, but she worked half again as hard as any of the ones they had and that was good. Very good.

So it was Poecileth, herself temporarily unengaged, who noticed the young Queen and her rider. she crooned, Even though Poecileth had once spoken to Vosin herself, she no longer did so. One did not speak to the mind-bonded without their bonded's permission, after all. That was uncouth even for Poecileth.

The chaos of the infirmary was starting to die down, bit by bit, and Malta knew that it was her doing. Now if those wherhandlers would stop getting themselves injured...

It was nice to have some free time for herself. Free time was something she had in rare supply so when she got some, she enjoyed every moment of it. Vosin could tell the infirmary had been busy of late and she didn't envy the healers in the least bit. One familiar face greeted her amid the chaos when she peeked in. She gave a wave as Malta looked in her direction and hoped the rider noticed and recognized her.

Poecileth, good day to your and yours. Killakeeth greeted the older dragon and straightened up to turn slow whirling blue eyes on the green dragon. Mine is rather proud as well and wanted to show me off this day. She'll be pleased to hear you noticed. The young dragon preened just a bit under the compliment and arched an wing. Oh we are doing quite well. I think Vosin was getting antsy with her free time. I can think of better places from which I can be admired. Like the feeding pens, Killakeeth snickered to let Poe share the joke. In truth she would have been happy enough just napping in the sunshine.

It seems you have seen plenty of action here of late, Killa peered into the infirmary over her rider's head. Vosin, Poecileth has dutifully admired all your hard work. The young gold relayed back to her rider politely.

"Ah Poe!" Vos turned her head to locate the green. "Good to see you again. I'm glad Killa has your approval." She grinned. "Looks like things have been lively."
