It had been so long since he was 'imposed on'. A girl he had barely even knew, except for some reason. He accepted her in to the graveyards.. A battlefield that he now made in to a beautiful floral bed in memory of those whom had fallen. Like his father and mother. The one whom imposed, was bothersome. Yet he still kept her around, co existing with the ulaya that he didn't quite understand why she wanted to be here in the first place. It was apparent that he didn't care one way or the other. So it was safe to assume that... they were.....
The new night had come, he'd been sleeping all day for the chance to be up at night. Just like always. Mostly due to his sensitive scleras did his 'wake' time had switched to night. The mornings would burn and render him blind. He was a routined creature. Everything as it should but, except with Minty around. Sometimes- out of the blue. Things sometimes seemed downright topsy-tervy. But now, he grown acustom to her shenanigans and it was more like... He couldn't imagen life without her now. She'd become a fixture and to show her that she wasn't just downright annoying to him, he decided to do a gesture that was a slight out of character for him.
He'd been working on it for months now, always hiding and dodging away from her when she asked where he was going. Finally it was time to show her. Slowly he came in to their den and with his naturally slow pace and drowsy eyes, he scanned the area for the unrelenting face he'd grown slightly fond to. "Minty." He spoke finally after not seeing her in his immediate vicinity. "Minty." He spoke up once more. Waiting on a response, his tail got twitchy, more out of nerves than anything. The air crispy and fresh, the wind blowing just right, enough to be felt within the den.

Minty lay snug in the corner of her den in which she shared. She liked to surround herself with pretty flowers and anything cozy she could find. She believed it would bring her good dreams. Not only that, but she would wake to beautiful things. However she didn't have to worry about nightmares, as she felt very safe when she called it a night... Or rather called it a day? Minty, like her companion, slept most of the day and awoke in the night. It had become habit, but she didn't mind. Her eyes were much different than others. When she roamed in the day, everything seemed a bit blurry. That didn't help an already clumsy creature.
Lost in a magical dream filled with candy and whimsy, a voice suddenly entered her mind. It was the voice of her best friend, Yoru. She didn't know if it was part of her dream, or what was going on. She didn't see him among her colorful world. He must be up! The thought of him being awake excited her, and she woke up as soon as she realized it.Slowly opening her eyes, the sight of a blue creature with an odd marking on his face came into sight. She smiled, he may seem odd. But some might say the same about her. Sh admired him for a moment, before she slowly decided to bring herself up.
She stretched her legs, and gave her wings a wiggle before she spoke up. "Good Morning."

Finally, he found her. Well, she had presented herself to him. Bowing his head softly. "I ...needed some help. If you aren't doing ...anything." Taking long to speak, he was nervous and it showed. Just slightly although his nerves were boiling inside. Looking in to her minty eyes.. That familiar look he reminded him of something he had, maybe forgotten. Likewise, it was why he had let her stay here. Hopefully by the end of the night, he hoped, things would be. Not just unspoken.
Something had to give... 'When that one ulaya is no longer with you. It seems like you are dying on the inside. Like they were all that ever mattered and now. Nothing will be the same. The world. Lost it's color.' He remembered these words, of a widow he had helped bury her mate. How she cried, although it was long ago. It finally hit him, and he finally realized that without Minty. His world, although gloomy and naturally dark- would lose its color if she weren't around. The thought of her leaving had started to scare him and he had begun to need her presence. Her existence.
"Com'on." Turning himself around and leading her.. Further than where they had explored together. Further than the work space that he usually had. It took them a bit of walking.. he couldn't strike up a conversation as easily as others. Hopefully he didn't need words when he finally could show her.
He then stopped before an arched tree. Thicked with wood, or so it seemed. Turning around and lifting his naturally depressive face towards her. "Close you eyes." His tail giving a flicker.

It was a bit strange for Minty to be asked for assistance. She was too clumsy to help anyone. She thought about it for a moment, her mind wondered. What help could she possibly give? Soon enough her mind started wondering to other things, and she forgot what she was thinking about in the first place. She shook herself back to reality. And when the male spoke again, she just nodded her head.
She stood up and followed him. This could all be a trap for all she knew. It could be some game this Ulaya had been playing this whole time. But Minty didn't think like that. She thought everything was good and rainbows, even if she lived in a place less than colorful. But as long as she didn't get any odd feelings, she was okay. Her friend seem to be leading her further away than they're used to going. She did strike that as odd, but she was to distracted by the new scenery. Though unappealing in the night, it was new. And she liked new.
She became so distracted with what was going on around her, she didn't realize the male stopped. Almost crashing right into him. Lucky for her, she was able to compose herself before he turned around and spoke again. "Close your eyes." he said. She leaned her head to the side with confusion for a moment. Then shrugged her shoulders and did what he asked. Now what could possibly be going on?

As soon as she closed them.. A smile itched at the very small edge of his maw before trotted just a little bit of a gait towards one of the trees where he had gathered up all the petals that the sakura-like trees had been falling and gathered them high in the trees. Then- he pulled a vine that let them loose.. "Open them!" He was preening, and with their release, the other bags started to follow. For the trees were in full bloom and in the darkness.. They almost looked like snow flakes falling all around them. It was four beautiful trees full of petals.. the other two trees were arched and had created a flowery arch way in which he would lead her through.
"I...was working on this for a while.." He spoke up.
"I..waited til they bloomed.." His ears lowering now.. as he stood beside the tree he had made to let all the petals flow. They danced around in the wind without a care. Beautifully, like a cinematic aura. While looking up at them.. following a petal with his eyes, and he caught them.. then saw beyond the petal to Minty... Waiting eagerly for her response..

When she opened her eyes stars seemed to be falling from the sky. The moon light shined on the petals and transformed them into magic. Her eyes widened, it was like something she would only see in her dreams. It made her speechless. When Yoru spoke, she turned to him and listened. He was working on this to show her? Waiting for the flowers to bloom, just to show her? She didn't even know what to say before, but now she really didn't know what to say. No one has ever done anything so nice for her. She looked back at the falling petals and the trees they fell from. It was a real beautiful sight, a memory she'll remember forever.
Looking back to him, her eyes began to fill up with water. What could she say to such a lovely gesture. It was a first for her. She always had something to say. But not this time. Her heart filled with joy, as a tear rolled down her face. All she could do was get close to him and nuzzle his cheek.

He waited, and waited... But no response except for one he hadn't expected. Why was...she crying? He tilted her head, and felt confused until she closed the gap between them. Yoru slowly leaned his head against hers...
"Thank you... for being with me." He turned to her... and licked her cheek softly.
"You bring the graveyards to life.. " Lifting his paw to her chin to have her look up at him. "You brought me to life... so in short. I don't want to be without you. I can't promise much but.. Stay with me? Minty. Please, stay."

As Yoru licked her cheek, she leaned in closer. Minty never had a family, or anyone to care for her. And it was only by chance that she found Yoru. Not to mention him letting her stick around. Considering how much of oposites they could be. She got lucky. That she found someone who could bring her so much comfort. So much happiness...
Staring Yoru in the eyes, she only smiled. "I never planned on leaving~"
Playfully, she licked his nose. Only to stare back at the beautiful tree he brought her too. How could she repay him for such a sight. How could she ever show him how much grattitude and love she held in her heart for him. She didn't know if it could even be possible. But she was determined to find a way. Determined to return the gift he had given her.

There was a silence, did he imagine her leaving? Well like he did every day. But there were some moments where she would go to the gates of his graveyard and stand here idly looking out. Or upon their home, staring out in to the darkness, while he was awake. When he was asleep in the morning, he heard a hand full of times of her leaving her part of his home. He imagined that any day now, she would leave, and it scared him in his core.
When she said she wasn't leaving... He blankly stared at her. Then he shouted over all the pent up anxiety he had for having shown the flowers- and being scared of her leaving.
"Why DO YOU LOOK OUT THEN!? Sometimes you disappear!? And- And I don't know where you go!? I thought that meant you wanted to leave~! You cause me so much anxiety I feel like my heart is going to explode! " Heaving as he tried to get himself back together- but when he looked back at her again, he began to burst out laughing... It was his fault for misunderstanding- he could have TRIED to talk to her about it- TRIED to maybe seem like he wanted her around more. He COULD have done a lot of things, but instead he went through months of work to find her an incentive to stay.
Coming up to her and biting her cheek. With a slight growl.
"I worked so hard for you- and you don't even realize~" Huffing and sticking out his chest with his ears back in a standoff sort of position.
"Listen- I need more flowers... if you want to go- maybe we can put some flowers here for them- and check out beyond the graveyard. You seem starcrossed and airheaded- but ... that might just be in your personality, regardless I wanna go with-" Smirking at her. "But i wonder what your new tree will say if we leave so soon~"

She was brought back a little by Yoru's shouting. It wasn't the reaction she was expecting. She just said she was never planning on leaving. To only realize her actions made it seem like she felt like leaving. That her curiosity of other places and things made her seem like she was out in space and planning to leave him behind. FOREVER. How terrible she began to feel until he suddenly burst into laughter. To only come up to her and nibble at her cheek. She had probably just displayed a handful of expressions in the span of 5 minutes. But he seemed better now. Like he let out everything he was holding inside. So all she could really do was smile.
"I'm sorry I made you feel that way. It wasn't my intention. I just get curious an like exploring new places. I won't disappear without letting you know where I'm going. Okay?"
With that said. She looked back over at the beautiful tree. HER beautiful new tree according to him.
Looking back at him she continued to smile. "I don't think she'll mind. Not as long as we come back with a gift."
What could a tree possibly want as a gift? She had no idea, but all she could do was picture her wonderful trees full of shiny and stringy ornaments. The thought made her light up, especially when she added snow to the picture. What a beautiful sight that would be.
