Schörl considered a while before seeing her next object. Here was one who was reportedly older than their usual fair. That wasn't the only unusual feature. This one blazoned with a star, but not the six-pointed of Cosmos. Here was one she'd not seen before in all her time as an officer. This knight wore an eight-pointed star. The star of Polaris, by all accounts of the emblems the knights wear. Well. Barbary adjusted, laying paws flat on her hands and down her legs. Movement became silent. His head he kept on her shoulder, so that her voice was not muted. The General entered and approached. "It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves....yet you wear one just the same. Has it granted your wishes?" "Will it grant mine? They're very simple, I assure you."

Lyceum sat chained as she had for a couple days now, or so she assumed. The negaverse had captured her at the new years eve ball, in her attempt to escape with her life, she instead found herself chained to the floor like an animal. She was hardly fed, and water had been sparsely given. More often than not it was simply poured on her head. That she was allowed any at all was the surest sign to her that wanted her at least alive for a time longer.
She shifted as a new face entered her prison. A powerful aura, the likes of which she rarely encountered. This week she had become acquainted more thoroughly with what she knew to be a general's aura. Dark, sometimes wild, terrifying just the same, as they easily dwarfed hers. The outmatched her in every way and yet she was still chained and for what reason she wasn't sure she couldnt go anywhere. She didn't have the energy, and he weapon was useless. What did they think she was going to do fly?
Lyceum frowned deeply at the woman's word trying and failing to keep the biting comment off her lips. "You act as though I had any sort of choice in the matter. I touched a stick and entered a nightmare. Hardly a dream where wishes are granted. I doubt it will grant yours."
She knew she probably shouldn't speak like that, but she was definitely angry. She had bruises marring her face, she was boiling in the double layered suit made for colder winters, ached in every place imaginable, had so little sleep and food that she was running on fumes and what she could regain was taken from her at several points throughout the day.

"There is always a choice. But what a piece of uniform won't grant, I can hope you will. " "You can choose to help me, and I will do my best in turn to help you. I have answers I have to find. Just questions and answers. " Schörl flexed a hand and fingers in the covering FlatLion velvet and green, wicked claws. "Tell me no lies, answer my questions as fully as you can and we can be friendly. " "You spoke of touching a stick and this happened to you. Do you know who's star that is you wear? Can you tell me all about that?"

Lyceum sighed doubting the woman in front of her would be friendly. Its not as though she was a human lie or truth detector. She could say she was lying just like other insisted and the supposed friendliness would go out the metaphorical window. She attempted to sit up more fully, "why not unchain me," she started ,"its not as though I can leave. I can barely stand and my stick or rather my olive branch isn't exactly useful. I do not see why I need to be chained, if you all can keep me tired enough not to be able to stand."
Lyceum didn't know much, not about wonders or anything. Not that she had the energy to go anywhere.
Even with her slight argument, she did however, offer up the answer to her question for at the very least this one didn't come in swinging and she was definitely pushing her luck. "I would assume the star is from Polaris, but I have never met her and I doubt she knows of my existence. As for the olive branch, there isn't much to tell. It sort of appeared when I was being attacked by one of those things you call youma. I stupidly picked it up and suddenly was Lyceum, Page of Polaris. A way to protect myself from them I learned wasn't the whole story. Well clearly, seeing my current state and situation."

The General's Mona Lisa smile widened only a fraction, "Why not, indeed. Liberty is earned, not given. It is a privilege. It is not free. You have not yet learned how to see. " You will, given time. My time. 'Assume.' it is Polaris."How did you learn your name, then, if it was not Polaris who gave it you? Why would you not be known? You need to be a good deal more expansive in your answers, luv. 'As fully as you can,' remember?" You've at least heard then that Polaris is a person. That she is a Senshi Royal, and how that is significant in some sense to you as a knight. Well. That's your warning used up, pet. Pretty pet.

Lyceum raised an irritated, manicured eyebrow at the general before falling back into a glare, "I think I can see perfectly well where this is going. The same place its headed since I was brought into the place."
She turned away from the general trying not to let her ire get the better of her. She took a moment to breath, though she inhaled too deep and her ribs lit up with pain. She didn't answer the question right away not sure if she should give in, but also trying to remember. There wasn't much to remember.
"You just know. When you become a page you just know. You know your name, your title. Did someone assign you a name? Is that how it works for you," she talked still facing away from the other.
"Well she might know of me. I met her boyfriend. I think sort of ... not formally ... it was months ago at some game training thing for us knights. She wasn't there though. She hasn't tried to seek me out, but I haven't exactly been looking for her either. For all I know she could be dead? Of what importance is she too you anyway?"

"The ruler of my name, the choice of it and the bearing, it was not anointed by some other power, but forged in the void of self-mastery." The general's stance opened, more friendly in response to the extra ramblings. they spend their time at games to train? It would be, children playing at war as much as Bazzite when I was a lieutenant. One side is not so different from the other. It would require cats as this does, to hide the signatures, unless they do this offworld. They can teleport away. How many at a time? Do they do it on the moon? And a boyfriend to a princess. Quaint. But he could be useful as a bartering chip in drawing her out or tracking her down, if the months have not separated them as puppy love is often fated. The last sighting of her by agents will be wanting checked against this vague estimate of months. "I title like 'Princess' is usually a give away for why someone is important, don't you think? " Spunky, just going on with your questions like you weren't even a captive. But it keeps a dialogue going. Establishes something of an open rapport. Well enough, pet. We'll keep it feeling casual, as you're being a little better. More friendly. "And she wasn't there to help train her own knights? Or even see her boyfriend. Was this training exercise all Polaris knights? Is 'us' a more general selection of friends? It's good someone has a head for training—"

Lyceum just turned slightly looking at the other for a moment when she spoke on her name, curious as she often was a flippant whatever was her response to the generals words. She didn't magically get her name, that didn't surprise her. The other side had a choice in all this as far as she could see.
She was still waiting for the ice to crack so to speak and tried to get to comfortable with the current lack of violence in the conversation. "The title is of no importance to me who has never met her. I do not see her ruling over her court or anyone for that matter. Offering no guidance. The title is just a word in this case."
She started laughing at the next set of questions however. "Head for training ..."
She couldnt help the laughter, she found the notion hilarious in a moment, "... there was I believe only one other Polaris knight there ... was a knight only thing ... and the knight, the boyfriend partnered us up and stuck us in a cornfield to solve our way out. Teamwork building ... I was stuck in a maze with a teen for hours and I'm not even sure everyone finished. We are a little lacking in the way of organization."
"What do you all even want ... this seems a bit counter productive. You catch more flies with honey ... you know provided you don't go psychopath in the middle of you little trap.."

"There are problems with idioms. They treat life....so one-dimensionally. For this to be all honey ignores that this is a war. Moreover a war spanning years on years, and far more than say...tens of people. Extending olive branches individually to every terrorist insurgent becomes more charged in cost to the people of Earth and risk to operatives. Minimizing expenditure is preferable. Knowing that Polaris' contact with her knights is minimal helps to remove her risks and history from the rest of you. You see...this is something of an unusual case today. We're given a chance to talk safely and see about olive branches and friendships." "The 'boyfriend' was the one directing the 'training' all of you? Is he also a Polaris knight? I admit, wandering around a cornfield seems lacking in operating training. You made it out, though?" "What I want is answers to questions. The big plan is stability and safety for the Earth in the face of such a flux and panoply of invading magic."

Lyceum listened sitting still with her back to the general. Rude, maybe, but she couldn't be bothered to turn around as far as she could tell the other didn't seem to care either way. The mention of olive branches struck a cord in her, for that was what her stick actually was. She was almost for a second compelled to summon the little branch with its single green olive.
"He is not a Polaris knight, and yes he was directing it. It was based of a television game show from my childhood. Legends of the Hidden Temple, I think it was. I made it out with my partner eventually ... if I ever get lost in a corn field again maybe the experience will be helpful."
She sighed and turned to face the general completely this time. "Really ... flux and panoply of invading magic. What are you a walking dictionary? Either way the magic is not invading and I find your ability to pluck someones starseed and you pet very magical. Much more so that my wardrobe change and ability to call a stick to me for such wardrobe change to happen."
She frowned. What did she even know ... to be arguing or well disagreeing. "All of this doesn't seem to be moving in the direction of stability or safety at all for anyone."

" 'When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.' Correct terminology illuminates the mind. Correct perspective enriches it. " "You are locked in this childish persistence- the short term. Bleak it is now, yes, but think of the history of this war. If your side has seen fit to tell you. For a thousand years there has been peace and prosperity, growth of the race of men and technology. Not without their petty differences and pollutions, but they have survived in our keeping. They have grown from sandals and hunting to internet and genetic mapping. No other world lived, save that which was opposed to the Rule of the Moon. Now the senshi have come, with their foreign magic and there is war again. It gets worse as more and more of them appear. It will return to equilibrium, to nurturing peace, when they are all gone again. Another thousand years. The long game, the goal for peace again, is in the wisdom that it gets worse before better. And that we must prevail. " "Unless they're telling you something different." Or dreams are. 'Future' dreams. Have you had them, pretty? Please, tell me all about how wrong I am and why.

Lyceum frowned ignoring her speech on words and the slight to Ly herself. "Peaceful ... because massive wars among the nations across continents is so peaceful. Yes we survived, but it's hardly been 1000 years of peace, just a 1000 year break from this."
"And its not to many of us thats the problem ... why could it not have been you all who started all this, your fault that there is war," she was brought mentally back to the night she was ported through space to mars. What she wouldn't give for a conversation with the code at the moment. Though she hadn't actually believe much of what it had said the first time. She was angry, but now the words were floating forward more readily grabbed. She was quiet at the moment thinking. Thinking on all that had been said and thinking on her olive branch.
She felt like she finally understood her knighthood in a way, but there was something more. She went from quiet and blank to staring curiously, almost determinately at the general.

Nothing like proving my point. "The plight of men can rest then; the true cause for their every evil for a millenia is found." Or scapegoat at the least. Still very close mouthed, still very, very careful of names. Sparky at little provocation. Too early, yet. No assurances of a needed isolation, or administration of a proper auditory session. "You are very sure of what the 'problem' is or isn't. But you do not share it. You don't share much at all, and return to acidic speech again and again. Not taking very good advantage of our opportunity here. If you can't help me, knight of Polaris, I cannot help you. " "If we cannot help each other, there's no value to talking. The branch cut, in midst of growth, to fall." The General turned on heel to return to the dark and let the woman to solitudes and depredations.
