Welcome Home
He had been meaning to do this, had been wanting her around again, but with Jan attached, it took some time. After their date off the island, he felt more confidence in contact Jan to push him to let Rin take more and more of her old life back. It was only natural after all.
He sent Jan a text asking if he could come to his room. Then he waited on the bed, making sure everything was as tidy and neat as Rin remembered - save for all the boxes.

Somewhere Only We Know
He walked down slowly down the path, smiling but nervous as he lead Jan down the path leading past the training fields and into the jungle to the greenhouse. It had been a long time since Rin could see her project, and he hoped she would feel relieved to see it was still going strong. Most of all, he hoped she would feel stronger with each moment she spent in a place she spent so much of her time each day.
"It's just up here." He said.

Like It Was
It was as it was. Between freshly washed sheets, together after a sneaked shower. She had cleaned herself just as he wished, and he had done the same, and together they shared themselves again. It had been the second time since the incident, and while it was strange, it started to feel familiar again - despite some biological differences.
Close behind her after moments after, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed the back of her neck. "I wish we could stay like this. I miss feeling you move in your sleep."

Getting dressed in Jan's room, he finally pulled a t-shirt over his chest and tugged it down. Frowning, he looked at his hair through the mirror Jan owned to pull down an uncurly curl that had popped up. As he did, he paused to glance at the tattoo still showing from just under his t-shirt sleeve. He sometimes forgot it was even there as often he wore sweaters.

Welcome Home
Lawrence couldn't imagine what it had to have been like living in a greenhouse, it would play absolute hell with someone's skin and hair thanks to the humidity alone. It was far better having Melvin back in his room. He did not understand grief, nor why it made people do such enormously illogical things, leaving a room dormant out of some delusion that the individual might come back for instance.
If it had been him he'd have sold or tossed away everything that he did not personally want, it was the only logical way to behave.
He arrived to the room and knocked, settling an amiable smile artificially on his features.

Somewhere Only We Know
Pretending to be Rin, someone he had ultimately never met in any real capacity was taxing to say the least, he had to gauge each reaction and mannerism against a mental checklist of things that he hoped fitted. It helped that Rin had been dead quite some time he assumed, it meant the memory would already be fading, there would be no way to check the errors. This Rin would be any idealised version he wanted her to be.
He followed to the greenhouse, smiling. "I'm really glad you kept it going." he said. "I was worried you'd be too upset as just stop, that Noah might get busy with other things."

"We can." he said, eyes half lidded, comfortable and victorious. "I get stronger every day."

Lawr raised a brow subtly.
"A rabbit?" he asked with apparently curiosity. "That was something she never mentioned to me. Does it mean anything?"

Welcome Home
The door was unlocked and then yanked open, showing Melvin fresh and finely pressed in a pastel blue sweater and khakis. "Hey. Glad you could come." He said, and turned to gesture Jan inside.
Closing the door, he gave a anxious glance to Jan. Between the man and Rin, he hoped the room passed inspection. Everything was in it's normal place, organized and labeled as Rin and him agreed. The only thing that made the room messy were the neatly lined towers of labeled cardboard boxes.
"I thought....since the sweater helped you before, maybe she'd like some more of her things."

He opened the door, letting Jan inside with a smile.
"Of course I wouldn't let it all just wilt. This is your garden. Your project. You worked hard to request funding for it and build it back from nothing. I wouldn't let your hard work just go away. I want you to be able to come back to everything just as you left it." He said with a smile.
He locked the door behind him, not wanting anyone else to bug them. Noah was the only other person with a key.

He pressed his brow to her back and whispered. "Do you think....you could take over whenever you wanted?"
"With time."
Could she own Jan instead of the other way around?

He reached up, touching the tattoo for a moment. "It was...from another reality. We were in our own kingdom together under a king - or sorts. We all had names. I was a rabbit."
He stroked the mark. "It was Rin's idea to get the tattoo. She got a deer on her neck."
It hadn't been long after that she - left.
Frowning, he looked back at the mirror. The tattoo. The scar. The white mark in his hair.
"I look so different."
