Sunsinger was dancing around happily as she walked. It was a GORGEOUS evening, the stars were bright, and the temperature was just about perfect. The day had been good... Lots of travel done, it had never been too hot, and the grass patches she'd found had been utterly WONDERFUL. She paused at a small pond, and leaned down to drink, but stopped. She just stood there, staring into the water quietly, admiring the incredible sight of the stars reflected on the water. Seeing her own reflection against them like this made her feel like she was, in the moment, closer to them then she was when flying.
After a long moment of staring at the reflection, lost in wonder at beauty of the stars, she gave herself a small shake of her head and finished lowering her head to drink. After a long, slow sip, she lifted her head again, and looked around. This seemed to be a good spot to stop for the night. There was decent grass, so she could have a light meal now, and plenty in the morning. There was a patch that looked plenty lush for sleeping on... And she could star gaze to her hearts content until she was ready for sleep. Yes, now was an excellent time to stop.
Walking over to the lush spot, she stretched her muscles carefully as she went, especially her wing muscles. She wanted to be sure she'd not stiffen up over night, not more then one normally did while asleep anyways. As she did so, the scales on her back caught the light of the stars, and reflected it up, and back, causing her to glitter, just a little.

Haruk sighed. It was dark outside once again, and once again he had no company to call his own. It was getting harder and harder to find his sort of company, and his liquid courage was dried up long ago. Not being near any sort of settlement to restock, he limped his way further along the path he was on, hoping to find some sort of place to stay for the night. He had to admit, the stars were... beautiful. They glistened over his head, almost as if they were trying to light his way home. Home, something he didn't have. He paused only for a second, noticing another set of hoofprints on the path he was on. He had a choice, follow them.. or go another way. He thought long and hard, deciding ultimately that company would be nice, even if it meant risking finding something that would ultimately eat him. He grinned... he wouldn't mind being eaten by a pretty enough horse.
He limped his way, following the tracks to a pool of water. He considered drinking for a moment, but was far too taken aback by the beautiful, shimmering female that was lying in the grass. He lifted one leg up, put it down, and repeated this at least three times.. quite unsure of what to do with himself.

As she settled in, gazing upwards, she heard an odd sound... As of something going 'tap tap tap' a few times. Her brow wrinkled for a moment as she thought this one over, then she slowly turned her head to see what on earth she was hearing. When she finally spotted the stallion, she blinked at him, trying to decide what on earth had him looking so confused and, possibly, unsure of himself. Was he a shy fellow? Or was she in his normal spot, and he wasn't sure what to do about it? She hadn't THOUGHT this was anyone's spot, it had looked empty to her... but you could never be sure.
"I... hello? Are you alright? Am I in your spot?" She finally decided to ask, figuring the worst that would happen is she'd have to move, after all. She was curious about him... He have such bright antlers, and accessories... Rainbows like her own, though for him, it was mostly in decoration, other then those antlers. In the starlight, she could get an idea of his coloration, at least!
She tilted her head. "If so, I... think there's room to share, but if you want, I could leave..."

The stallion smiled, it didn't seem as if this ... female was of any harm. And as she moved, giving him a closer look at her his first assumption was right, she was the most beautiful mare he had seen in a long while. On top of all of this, she hadn't slapped him with a hoof... yet... so this could be a promising find! He bowed his head to her, his little charms on his antlers clinging and clanging along with the movement, his hat almost sliding off of his head as well. After taking just a second to push his hat back onto his forehead with a little head movement, he finally spoke, realizing at this point that if he didn't, he was likely to achieve stalker status at this point.
"... I .. your spot? Why no dearie, that spot isn't mine. I don't really have a "spot" to rest, you know." She thought he lived nearby it seemed.. he could go along with that, or could admit he was a wandering drunk. "But.. I don't mind sharing, not at all. But... we have just met. Why, I don't even know your name. No need to leave, I can be on my way if it pleases you, just the same dearie."

"Oh well then! I understand how that is, sir!" Her accent was British, and her manners graceful. "I, too, do not have a spot of my own. I hope to find one, once I find my cousin, that I am seeking, but... until then, I am a lost traveler, seeking!" She smiled warmly at her unknown companion.
"Oh and my name is Sunsinger, sir, what is yours?" She nodded her head, and beamed warmly at the stallion. "You are more then welcome to join me here, for it is a lovely night, and a comfortable place... there is no reason I can see that we can not share this place in comfort." She settled, carefully, onto the grass, and nodded to a comfortable spot next to her. "We can enjoy the stars together, and the lovely grass, and a comfortable rest." She stretched out a wing, to let the muscles relax more.

"Well then, it seems we are both lost souls, looking for a place to call home." He nodded, slightly wondering about her cousin.. slightly not. He might have no family to call his own, but he wouldn't judge those that did.
"Ah, my dear. What a beautiful name! Mine is not as pleasant on the tongue, if I may say. You can call me Haruk." He smiled, eyeing the spot offered to him. A night with a beaitiful mare couldn't be so bad, not after so long of being.. alone. He slowly limped closer, before taking a seat next to her. Her admired her wings as they stretched out, letting himself slowly take in just how beautiful she was up close.
"Ah, yes! The stars, among other things. There is much beauty to be had out here indeed, dearie. But tell me, what would bring such a lovely lady like you out here all alone? Is this cousin of yours lost? I for one know what it's like to be lost."

"Indeed. Lost souls, but we have found each other at least. Nothing is better then a new friend, yes?" She gave him a warm smile.
She watched him limp, with a slight frown... One of concern. "Are you alright? Did some one harm you?" She blinked at his comment on his name. "Haruk... it has a beauty to it as well, though. Perhaps a harder sound to it, but not unlovely. I quite like it. It sounds strong, and decisive... and just a little exotic."
"The world is, indeed, full of beauty to those who seek it out." She smiled, warmly, her eyes traveling across the stars, to her new companion. At his question, she smiles, and laughs a little. "It is my cousin, though I am not sure if he is lost, or I am. He left our home, some time ago, to seek a new place to live... Our herd fell apart, due to the loss of our herd leader... My aunt." She sighed, a sad expression crossing her face for a moment. "Chromatos, my cousin, left to seek a place we might be able to begin anew, one without the sad memories. The rest of us... well some left to other herds, some stayed to care for those to young to travel yet. I stayed, trying to help his father through his grief, until he... went off on his own. Then I came to find my cousin, and hopefully the home he wished to build."

"Friend? Ah, yes. I suppose those... can be nice." He frowned at that thought. He didn't really have friends. Heck, he never really kept anyone close for long enough to make more than an acquaintance. Still, for someone so outgoing in avoiding social contact, he thrived on it, and missed the comfort of company.
He eyed her frown, flicking his tail. "Me? Harmed? Oh no dearie. I just... I suppose I always walk like that. Least I have for a long, long time. Oh, but don't you worry about me. I can walk just fine."
He listened to her talking, or at least.. tried to. He admitted an ear is not what he was known for being. Still, it seemed she was troubled. She lost a lot, it seemed. "Well then dearie... I do hope you find what you are looking for. I will admit, sad memories and the past are two things I know what it's like to run from. Can't say I know what it's like to win the race though."

She listened to his various comments, her head tilted to the side, her eyes on his. The way he spoke, the words he chose... How careful he seemed in his phrasing... She could not help but wonder what was in his past that made him seem so reticent about speaking of himself... Or at least, so she was guessing from how he was acting.
"Perhaps you should have a chance to do so, though... find out what it's like. Or at least, find out how to live beyond the sorrows, so that they no longer have a strong hold on you." She said softly. "Indeed, other then the darkest of sinners, the blackest of hearts, I think we all deserve that chance." Perhaps this was a silly sort of optimism, but she believed it, in her heart. "If you wished to speak on your sorrows, I would willingly listen... You were kind enough to listen to mine."Gracie Loff Apparently this time it was me to be doubted.

He laughed a bit, seeming to shrug off her offer. She was a pretty thing, yes, but.. it would take a lot of alcohol to get him to talk about his past. Still, he wouldn't lie, it was nice for someone to offer an ear. He wasn't one for therapy though, and would much rather have a little fun instead of bringing up bad memories. "Oh no dearie, no no. You don't want to hear me ramble about such things! The night is far too young to be thinking of boring thoughts such as those. Besides, why dwell on the past, when the future can be much, much brighter?" He winked on that note, flicking his tail back and forth quietly. "Besides, old things never keep a hold on me. I limp far too fast for them to catch up!"

She tilted her head and said "If you truly feel that way, then that is your choice of course. I find getting things off my chest helps, but to each their own." She blinks a little, then shrugs off his comment about limping... he'd already dismissed her concerns of it, and if it is of his past, she wouldn't pry. "Well then, what brings you all this way, on this lovely evening, Haruk?"Gracie Loff I DOUBT THE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD.
