While Endymion had yet to warm up to the idea of living anywhere near humankind, it was becoming easier to inch closer to the idea, little by little. There were few individuals he felt he could really trust with more than a light conversation, but even that was pushing it a little further than was really comfortable for the socially-shy scyther. After all, if there was any way at all he could avoid speaking with someone, he was apt to take it. If only he didn't have the courtesy to feel bound to a conversation as soon as it was initiated... ignorance really could be bliss.

Of course, in retrospect, it was easy enough to think this way, to believe he had acted like a fool. Very few exchanges could truly be considered a bad exchange. No, most of them were quite positive, and helpful in one manner or another. Why did he prefer the solitude, where he could always be caught reviewing things in a far more pessimistic light? That seemed more than a little counter-productive...

At least the day was nice, despite how brightly the sunlight reflected off the water. It had taken some time for him to overcome the ingrained necessity to hide, but now he was able to stand in the open without the nagging thought that he was in danger out here. Well... almost, at least. His wings twitched every so often at the faintest of noises, but he was fairly certain that he was alone. There was nothing to hide behind, at any rate.

While the world above the water was calm and peaceful, the world below was, well, the same. Kirsi was down under the water that Endymion was sitting by, searching through the seaweed and stones at the bottom. She had a nice little collection of shells and pretty stones when she suddenly dug up a wooper! The little water pokemon let out a peep and darted out from the mud. 'Hey! Sorry, dew!' Kirsi tried calling out, turning to chase after the pokemon.

On the surface, the wooper swam up and out of the water, waddling on the dry land with its little legs going as fast as it could, slime forming to protect itself.

Kirsi popped up a moment later, though she kept herself in the water. She couldn't help laughing at the sight, delighted by the wooper's adorable toddle. "I sorry, dew!" she called again, feeling a little bad for laughing while she was trying to apologize. The wooper would have nothing more to do with her though, and as it vanished into some bushes, Kirsi noticed that someone was on the shore. Another pokehuman? "Hi!" she chirped, looking at Endymion with a smile.

Lulled into a sense of security by the white noise of the shore, Endymion had crouched on the ground, watching the light dance off the ripples furthest inland. Despite the overhead wingulls sometimes making quite a ruckus, it was actually pretty relaxing here. While it didn't necessarily make him sleepy, he found he could relax without necessarily dwelling on past issues and worries that always seemed to plague his mind in one way or another. Perhaps it helped, when he could find somewhere to be that was well-equipped with both solitude and expansiveness; this way, he didn't feel like he was hiding in order to obtain it.

Suddenly, a sound bubbled from his right through the light sound of the water's current. He stiffened in place, taking a moment to turn to look, as it wasn't in his immediate vicinity. The riled wooper scuttled along in a huff, away from the water it had emerged from. It didn't look like it had seen him at all, and if he remained in place, it would likely stay that way.

Or maybe it would have, had the point of its irritation had not surfaced just them. Endymion had not considered what it was that had flustered the wooper, but even if he had, he likely would not have thought it to be because of a person. A poké-person, at that. In his surprise, Endymion fell back, catching himself with a furious flutter of his wings before 'back' turned into 'flat.' Now seated in the dirt, he was dazed into silence for a moment, even after he had been addressed by the girl in the water. Or maybe that's because he really didn't know what he was supposed to say in this case... It was likely too late to flee, especially considering it was obvious he had seen her already... responding with a greeting in kind was just inviting trouble... In a panic, he tried grabbing for anything of use in his mind, but was predictably coming up empty. Fidgeting in place a little, he settled on giving her a nod in response. To be honest, he wasn't sure he could even give a verbal response back if he tried.

Both hands came up to cover the giggle that tried to escape. The other looked so funny, flailing around like that. "Not mean to scare," she said. Brow rising at the uncertain nod, she swam forward toward the shore and closer to the teen. "I not bite, dew! I Kirsi."

In a daze, it took a moment for Endymion to register the reaction that he had invited with his own bumbling. Once he had, it was kind of difficult to ignore the fact that she was laughing about it, and he just knew his face flushed that familiar shade of pink again. Not the best foot to start off on, but then that wasn't so unfamiliar, either. "I-I wasn't scared..." he grumbled, though didn't really make a point to be heard, glancing away as though it could help to make him appear less embarrassed.

He didn't move as she approached. He honestly didn't have anywhere else to go, and didn't know if trying to move would make him do something equally foolish on this uneven ground; it wasn't worth the risk, really, and it was obvious that the girl didn't mean any harm, in any sort of sense. Hiding was kind of a... stupid idea, at this point. His offered smile was unsure, and his incessant stutter only seemed to make it more so, "Hi, ah... I-It's okay. I'm... I'm Endymion." It was almost as though the more he tried to hide it, the more shy he seemed to be, and he absolutely hated it.

Head cocking slightly, Kirsi climbed a little further onto the land, her heavy dewgong tail flicking in the air. "Sorry I- uh.." What was that word? Not quite scared, but... "Sorry I startled, dew!"

"Endy..mion." Giggling, she rolled onto her back and stretched her arms up to wiggle in the air with her tail. She could see he was bashful about something, but she was rather unable to feel such a thing herself. "Endymion is nice," she said with a bright smile.
