Name: Aldren
Race: Ice Earthling
Gender: Male
Stage: Prentice
Path: Prentice --> Mage --> Sage --> Sorcerer
3 Base Traits: Protective, Dutiful, Optimistic
Additional Traits: Conscientious, Persistent, Observant, Charming, Reliable, Finicky, Gullible, Inconsistent, Jealous, Empathetic
Personality: Aldren's mother died after giving birth to his two twin sisters. One of the girls, Chrystyne, perished in a fire when she was two. His father lost the will to live after that, and he passed in his sleep within the following year. Sepharine is Aldren's only remaining family, and he is intensely loyal to her. Though there are only four years separating them, he forever considers her his "baby" sister and has taken on not only the role of her brother, but also her best friend, her guidance, and her caretaker. He is overwhelmingly protective of her, her beliefs, and anything she enjoys and will always do his best to see that she is satiated.
Since Seph has a tendency to let her lingering injuries bring her down even years after the fire, Aldren has taken it open himself to be the optimistic one. As a young boy, he always wanted to leave Zena and make a home somewhere with actual grass. At the time, he expected he'd be by himself, but now he regales his little sister of the places he imagines, and how (with his assistance and her persistence) they will one day be able to travel to those places.
But until Seph gains the fortitude to travel long distances, Aldren is forever watchful of her needs and the needs of his home. He doesn't have many interactions with anyone besides her (his aunt and uncle live relatively close, but he prefers not to bother them needlessly, especially since he feels really awkward around them without his father there), and that's probably for the best, considering he can't help but feel embittered toward most others for the abundant freedoms they have. He even strays from the others in his own small village, since he doesn't tolerate their sad whispers about his life.
Description: Deep golden eyes, crystals down both sides of his neck and up the backs of his ears as well as a smattering on his shoulders and thighs. I wouldn't mind a few crystals doting the corners of his eyes, as well. He has messy inky blue curls that are pulled back into a short, tight ponytail. Exact clothes are up to the artist, but I'm particularly fond of lots of furs and Avatar Water Tribe style.
History: Aldren was born in a small, unnamed, unimportant village in the mountains of Zena. For the most part, the village is cut off from the others, save for a unremarkable, winding path that leads to larger towns. His father and mother were both born in the same village, and as far as Aldren could see, they were content with that. They had all the intent to raise a happy family in the tiny village, but it was not to be.
Aldren's mother was a small, slight woman, who had little hope of bearing twins and surviving without some form of magical aid. Of course, no one in the village knew any particularly substantial amount of healing (or magic in general), as they tended to rely mostly on brute strength. When it came time for her babies to be born, Aldren's mother passed away, leaving behind two beautiful little girls in her wake. Aldren was four. To this day, he cannot remember his mother's face.
Two years later, find the family living in the same house. They adopted a pet roati, named Feathers for the twins' enjoyment. One winter night, while the snow blew and the wind howled, Seph and Chrys were tucked in their beds, whimpering quietly at the dreadful sounds of the storm. In his own fear, the roati kicked a lit oil lantern to the floor, and their home (being made of predominantly wood) soon caught the flames. Orin (Aldren's father) and Aldren himself were sleeping in rooms of their own when the commotion started.
The crackling noise and smoke, coupled with his daughters' shrieks roused Orin, and he rushed to save them. The fires had spread into something larger by that time, and so, after collecting his girls, he scooped up his son, and they left their home in a rush. Despite the cold, stormy night, they made their way a few miles off, to where Orin's brother lived with his wife. The children were tucked by the fire and outfitted with warm clothes, but it was too late for Chrys. After inhaling smog and being battered by the cold, she was too weak to survive the trip, and she passed before she reached her uncle's home.
Heartbroken by his repeated losses, Orin passed hardly a year later, leaving a seven-year-old Aldren and his three-year-old sister in Auntie and Uncle's care. For several years, Aldren learned what he needed to to survive of his own. From his uncle, he learned how to hunt, set traps, skin animals, preserve pelts. From Auntie, he learned to cook (however decently it was), weave, and of course, proper care of his sister. By the time he was sixteen, he was ready to live on his own. Auntie and Uncle were ready for their own youngins, and they didn't need Aldren and Seph in their hair.
With Uncle's help, they restored their old home, and moved back in.

Fluffesu Not that I have any business starting another quest, but READY FOR CRITS, anyway. XP heart Love the enthusiasm, and I'll totally critique it if you would like me to, but I do want to point out that only up to half of your characters can be quested/customs and of your 3 characters, 2 are quested already. You can keep this guy on the back burner if you would like?

He wasn't won from the event though? He was a quested character. (I found a PM where you had custom art saved, if you can jog my memory on when that was won, I can fix this?)

Suhuba He wasn't won from the event though? He was a quested character. (I found a PM where you had custom art saved, if you can jog my memory on when that was won, I can fix this?) I think it was in the event before last. There were a couple custom slots. One of them was prompt-oriented, and the other was won by referring people. Wer came from the referring people slot (though I ended up saving it until just recently). I think. >>>>.>>>>
