“Hypothetically.” Amacha Nigella began in a hesitant tone, tilting her head to evaluate the mood of the mare beside her.
Pacing along sedately, the mare painted like the sky over the sea gave her a glance with one golden eye. Waiting, of course she would be patient… Dya could be patient when the occasion called for it, and any discussion that didn’t immediately look like it could devolve into a fight qualified, in her book. She didn’t know what Amacha was about to stir up, at least, not yet she didn’t. But she was probably hopeful? Dya did love her fights, after all. Still, she’d probably be buzzing like a hornets nest if she had the faintest idea, but Amacha had been careful to keep the opinion to herself before now. But now, now there was no helping it. They were without Lotan or Hellebore for the day, and if they were going to have this talk it needed to be now.
Granted, they were only without Lotan and Hellebore because Amacha had put the idea in Helle’s head that she wanted to see the sea. And who better to see the sea with than Lotan, who himself was of it? Except perhaps Dyani, who was painted with the ocean and seemed to delight in skipping the sea breeze more than she did sipping from flowers. But that was beside the point. Amacha was a planner, and when occasion called for it this meant a schemer. Well, the occasion called for something, and that something needed to be drastic. So today Amacha was both, planner and schemer, and she’s schemed to have their two friends go off to see the ocean so they could talk. Hear to heart, just the two of them.
And as unpleasant as it might be, Amacha wanted to have this talk. It was necessary to have this talk, for everyone’s sakes. Besides, Dyani was, the dark mare was willing to bet, her best friend in this strange and exciting new land. One looked out for ones friends, and that went double for best friends didn’t it? That being said, there was no telling how she’d respond to this sort of conversation, so Amacha was betting quick and painless would be the best way to handle it. Dyani needed to hear some things head on, even if she got angry as an ornery mule and tried to start a fight about it afterward.
Direct. Quick. Painless.
“Let’s say someone was fond of a certain someone.” Amacha tried again. “But that someone didn’t know how to tell their certain someone how they felt. Also hypothetically, let’s say that a mutual friend of these two someones noticed… And she wanted to help.”

"Hypothetically." Dyani echoed, tossing her head with a soft snort. "I hate it when you begin conversations like that. I hope you're aware? Though if you began it like that, knowing that I would hate it, I must question your approach to things. Are you willingly entering a discussion in a manner I find unfavorable so that I'll win, or think I won? I can't tell. With all the time you spend around the Cheshire sisters, your logic has more twists in it than one of their fine tails. I am sure I shall never see the end of it, so I suppose the best I can do is to answer with the truth as I know it... and the rest shall just have to sort itself out."
Shifting on her hooves with a flick of her fawn-like tail, Dyani gave a wide grin and shouldered the dark-coated mare pacing at her side. She shimmied right back out of reach the next moment, moving like a cloud accompanied by the cheerful chiming of her silver bells.
"There are moments, such as this, that I think you and my brother would deserve each other. I am not sure whom it would be more inconvenient to, but the idea has merit on the amusement factor alone. That much, I can easily discern."
"You know, each time you threaten me with your brother, I have begun to make a note of it. Even still, I am not sure if it is a high compliment or the ultimate insult..." Amacha interjected with a laugh and a flash of her bright eyes. "And aside from that, I am unclear as to which of us it applies to in the positive sense. In my memory, you've jokingly commented something similar on thirteen previous occasions... You've shouted it at me four times, and you've laughed as you said it another seven. Is there something I should know?"
"I think if you joined forces against me I would have to arrange an accident to befall you both. I am certain I could not take it, if you proved to be allies." Dyani continued as though she had not been interrupted.

“The fact that you’re already pondering this is somewhat disconcerting… I feel like I should ask who you’re spending time with when you’re not around Helle or Lotan and I… I’m pretty sure we’re not the ones who taught you to have such murderous tendencies.”
Hesitating with one dainty forefoot still in mid-air, Amacha cocked a brow at her best friend and then gave into the urge to laugh. “I see, so that is how you’re going to be? I start a perfectly innocent conversation, and you start wishing your brother on me… And possibly also plotting my untimely demise, or at least a very convenient accident. I would like to point out this is something of an overreaction, Dya.”
Flicking her long, leonine tail she shook her head, fluttering her wings. “We have now moved on from some variation of ‘you should be my sister’ to ‘I may kill you before the day is out’. How quickly your temper turns, Dya. I really will have to tell your brother on you, maybe Istaga will help me decode all your previous comments on the matter. He’ll be grateful to have an ally, and I am certainly not afraid of you.” Previous Post, 100 Words
