"Come on little fella, it's okay." Rastian said, reaching his hand out to the Perzi as it approached him once again. He'd brought plenty of food, a bowl of water, and some little toys for it to play with, all in hopes that it would begin to trust him enough to allow him to bring it home with him. The Perzi watched, almost pensively as Rastian nudged a shiny bell towards it and began to bat at it playfully. This made Rastian laugh and nudge the bell away to see if it would chase it, which was proved when the Perzi made a mewling sound and pounced after it. It was so cute for such a strange, tiny animal, and he just wanted to bring it home to keep it forever. How could he get it to come with him without scaring it away?
He shook some food free from the bag he had brought and let the Perzi eat it's fill while he pet it's head contentedly. It ate it's food like any other animal, but he found it so endearing for some reason. It was adorable, just like his newborn son, and he wanted to cuddle up to it and love it forever. But, every time he tried to pick it up, it hissed, bit at his wrists, and scurried back into the trees! What was wrong with it? The book said that Perzai were friendly, social creatures that needed companions. Did it have companions elsewhere and it just didn't want to leave them behind? He pursed his lips and continued to pet it as it finished it's current pile of meaty bits, before looking it straight in the eye.
"Why are you so afraid of being picked up, eh?" He asked, smoothing his hands along it's back. "You're so sweet and I just want to cuddle up to you, it's weird. I don't want to drag you back home with me, though, if you really don't want to come with me. But... You must be so lonely, right?"
The Perzi tilted it's head at him and purred, before nudging his hand with it's forehead. It was obvious that it found Rastian favorable for attention, then why didn't it want to come home with him? He moved to pick it up, once again, only to startle it again. It went straight up into the tree where it usually roosted and left Rastian down on the ground with the wiggle of it's tail. The Monk sighed, shook his head, and left the food at the base of the tree as usual.
"Alright then, I'll come back again tomorrow, little guy." He said, waving towards the tree. "Same time, same place."
