• Samael was born in the Harperhall near Fort, fourteen turns ago; the younger brother to two year old Salzar, and the second son of Zamar and Salea. When he was born, his father was incredibly happy, being of the Harpercraft, the man had hoped his two sons would follow in his footsteps; he couldn't have been more wrong however. While his eldest showed strong music aptitude, his second son was more prone to getting into trouble. Soon enough, when the boy was two turns old, he and his elder brother took to mischief as though it was candy.
• It wasn't long before Salea gave birth once more, hoping for a daughter the pair were not disappointed. Zela was born, Samael and Salzar made it a point to cause their younger sister laughter. By the time the boys were five and seven, they'd come up with the best pranks to get the baby to giggle and wake the whole hall. Salea grew to her wits ends with the pair, often disciplining them. She tried to impress the seriousness to do good on her eldest son with words of how he had to be the role model for his younger brother.
• When Samael reached his eighth turn, his brother decided that he wanted to pursue the Harpercraft. Samael grew hurt, his brother had been his partner in crime for turns now, and he believed he was being left behind. The boys had always been confused with one another; due to their similar mischief and their similar names. Although, they didn't look alike they were still considered practically alike. So, angered by his brother's choice, the boy began acting out more and more, his mischief becoming more dangerous as his brother remained within the Harperhall with other apprentices of the craft.
• When he turned thirteen turns, Sam decided to pull the ultimate prank. Gathering seven small fire lizards he trapped specifically for this moment, the boy set them loose in the Healerhall within Fort. His mother, who happened to work there, was startled and outraged at the damage her son had caused. She informed Zamar that she was completely done and something needed to happen about their son.
• Distraught and uncertain what to do, Zamar sent word to his sister in Malvren, asking the Green Rider if she could come and retrieve his son for him to begin a candidacy. He hoped that Z'radi would be able to reign in his son's wild nature with a little discipline and responsibility. Zela, afraid for her brother, sent word to the eldest, and immediately Salzar chose to leave the Harperhall and journey with his brother to Malvren.
• Sam was thrilled, he and his brother were finally together again. During a spur of the moment exploration on their second day at Malvren, the boys came across a wild gold flit's nest. Intrigued, the pair spied on the nest and during the evening they successfully managed to obtain two small flit eggs. Within little time the flits hatched and the boys were able to impress them with little effort, thanks to the watchful eyes of Rota, their aunt's green dragon.
• Samael and Salzar began their candidacy, and the only thing to do is to wait for their own hatchlings to impress to.

• Z'radi and Rota picked up the two boys, at first confusing them with the other. Rota grew irritated with Sam's antics and told him to go play or something, just get away from her. So Sam and Sal; for old times sake, went exploring the beaches and came across a fire lizard nest. Excited, Sam encourage Sal to steal some of the eggs with him.
• the pair was successful in obtaining two eggs, and then were chased from the nest by the queen in charge. the eggs hatched and the boys impressed to the two flits.
