He'd already seen those he needed to, the ones he'd already seen once before, and now he was going to check on other senshi and knights. He knew it might seem odd that he wasn't coming up with much for information but he was sure no one was gaining much for information from their captives. He knew what the plans would be for them all once they had served their usefulness, and he dreaded it, they would be killed or corrupted by force or choice though he did wonder why they wouldn't all just be corrupted by force than. He didn't like the idea of forcing anyone, it could produce some useless members but more so he disliked it because it took away their choice - their freedom.

It was a random decision which brought him to this enclosure and inside. The flashlight he had, round and with a handle, was held in his hand aloft as he stepped inside. The first aid kit, small as it was, back within his uniform hidden and with a new little water bottle in it. Pushing the entrance open he stepped inside and looked around for the chained senshi or knight, he wasn't sure which it was in this room. He had no idea who was where aside from the three he already knew. He knew there were more, Valhalla had mentioned a list of names he couldn't remember nor pronounce; but he needed to see some of these others and see if he could help them in some manner. hence why he was here now.

It was the sound she was growing to dread - someone had entered the room. She shrank against the chair she was chained to with a soft sound that was neither a groan or a whimper, but it was pitiful none the less. Her white fuku wasn't as bloodied as some - only in the back where the whip had struck seven days ago - but it was filthy with grime and sweat.

Half her face was swollen, centered around her jaw, and a ring of black laced her eye on the opposite side. The bonds at her wrists and ankles had cut in, but more alarming was the size her right wrist had swollen to - broken - and her left pinkie was the same.

Amphitrite didn't want to ask if he was there to kill her; she was too afraid that the answer would be yes. "I don't know anything, " she whispered instead through cracked, parched lips, refusing to meet his gaze. The eyes of the last lieutenant still haunted her. "I'm sorry. Please, don't... "

He wasn't surprised when the senshi, as he took in the attire of the captive, cringed. He would have been surprised more if it hadn't happened, if some reaction hadn't happened. Considering what was going on it didn't surprise him in the slightest nor did it offend or bother him.

"Well, you're better looking than some of the others." He stated as he closed the distance between himself and the senshi in the chair. "Some are an absolute fright. You're a good bit better." Nodding his head he managed something of a smile. "Don't worry though. I'm not hear to fix that issue nor do you any damage." He stated while he knelt down and pulled out the small plastic case and placed it onto the ground and opened it. First he took out the small little sports bottle of water, just big enough to fit in his hand, and popped the top and looked her over. "Have a drink, water is honestly more important than food, a person can go longer without food than water." And he pressed the tip to her mouth.

"I'm not seeking answers or anything from you - just drink." Waiting to see if she did she might notice how he whispered and spoke in such a low voice. How he didn't have anyone with him, no weapon or any other means to torture her; not that he couldn't do that with his own fists and feet. But he seemed to not be here to harm her. "I've seen a few of the others here, Ganymede is in a cage and a bit of a mess. Valhalla chained to the floor and can't sit up...he's a mess. Acrucis is in terrible shape but that is being worked on. I've managed to get someone to...assist me." He whispered. "Those three are well and you must be also. I am sure your allies will eventually come to free you and when they do you need to be alive. So drink."

When he came closer, she shrank away like it was a reflex, as if she could somehow flatten herself into the chair and vanish. It was the first she had heard of the others that were here; even if she had heard them this whole time, she hadn't asked about them. Maybe it was because she didn't want to know, but Amphitrite knew fear was a factor in that too. Fear, and a little selfishness too. She felt a pang of guilt, as hard as she tried to shake it off. Who would really blame her for being selfish in a situation like this?

No blows came, and the senshi of shells began to relax, although some part of her feared it might be a trap. That part was quickly overruled when the water bottle was pressed to her lips, and she needed no more reassuring. She drank desperately, some trickling over her chin. The relief was so profound that the corners of her eyes grew moist. Her throat was so damn raw from screaming, crying, from neglect; she wasn't exactly a top priority around here.

Then he began to drop names, and she almost choked. "Ganymede's here? Valhalla too?" She didn't recognize the last name, but the first two she knew, one more than the other. Valhalla was the guy with the nice helmet Ganymede was... and she was here too. Even if Amphitrite had known on some level she was here, she'd denied it. She didn't want to get caught up worrying about someone else she failed, and some part of her desperately wanted to believe Ganymede would never end up in a situation like this. "No... that's terrible, " she groaned.

A selfish voice reminded her, yet again, that Ganymede was probably the only one besides maybe Nazca that would even realize she was gone. She wanted to cry again, for a lot of reasons. "Can you tell me what's happened to them? - is anyone coming? - and who are you?" Her words were slurred here and there, inhibited by her swollen cheek and sore jaw. It hurt to talk, but it was the first friendly - supposedly - face she'd seen in days.

Watching her drink he reached up with a gloved hand to wipe away the spilled water. It might not be much, the water or the cleaning of her face, but it was something and he was sure she hadn't been shown much if any kindness since arriving here. "Take it slow, don't choke." He urged as he made sure she was able to take her fill of the water, even if it was only a small little bottle. "I'll come with more next time I visit." Now that he knew she was here and had seen to her. He would move on from her, just not yet, and go to someone else with a fresh unopened bottle and see who they faired. He was trying to help in some underhanded manner.

"They are both indeed here, but they will be alright." He wouldn't and couldn't promise it, it wouldn't be right to do so, but he would do what little he could to help up their odds of surviving this. He couldn't see them die in this place...this was a dishonorable way to die and he knew if they did that their bodies would be left here or made into some show piece. No, no one deserved that especially those who fought in this war - no matter what side they were on. God, how far down the rabbit hole had he traveled? Was there some hole at the other side which he would one day come out of? Or some bottom perhaps? He had gone from so devoted to this...a long journey for sure. He just hoped he didn't get caught...oh god did he hope. he knew his screams would echo for nights and days on end if he were caught and then he would decorate the city in some place and be marked a traitor in some manner. A symbol for his own side and for the other side.

"Ganymede has been drained of energy, a lot, and Valhalla is injured and seems very weak. He can't sit up at this point. Ganymede is in a cage but not restrained. Valhalla is restrained to a floor, the same as Acrucis." He stated before he shook his head. "My name matters little, just know that I am helping in what manner I can, just do not let anyone know of this kindness - not anyone on my side can know or I will be joining you all." And then no help from him would come, no water or tending.

"Drink the rest and then if your injured let me know where and I shall take a look. I've brought a few things with me to try and help." Though he had little medical knowledge and he knew brought nothing of his plant based products with him to help. If anyone knew pf his ability with plants and smelled such things they may put two and two together and get four.

When he reached up to touch her, even if she knew he meant no harm, she flinched. She wished she hadn't, but she couldn't bring herself to feel bad about it either. Even if he was being kind to her, it was people like him that had done this. The water as polished off too quickly for her liking, but it still left her feeling refreshed - refreshed was as close to happy as she had gotten since New Year's Eve, and she would take it. "You'll come back?" she asked, more desperately than she realized. "Do you promise?"

They were alright. Amphitrite nodded, but she wasn't sure if that did anything to set her mind at ease. The way he'd talked before -- he'd said there was worse than her, and let's face it, she was feeling pretty damn shitty. It only made sense that more important people like Ganymede would have it worse than she did. "Please take care of them, " she said, biting her lower lip as she peered at him. "I mean, before me. I'm not -- " Special. Valuable. Important. " -- I'm not so bad off, right? You've been helping them too, right?" Deep down, she wished she didn't know what it meant to be a superhero; or wished maybe she'd idolized Ganymede just a little less. She wished she had it in her to be as selfish as she knew she was.

Being her had her scrambled, that was all.

When he bought up her injuries, she glanced down at her arm. "Someone broke my wrist." The words came out calmly, but abruptly, her eyes were burning again. It was the first sympathetic ear she'd had in days. "B-because he thought I was lying, " and now she was sobbing, roughly, chokingly, desperately. "I really don't know anything, I don't -- I just wanna go home, " she whimpered, and felt even more pitiful knowing that there were people here suffering worse fates than she was.

He wasn't surprised when she flinched, he would have been surprised it she hadn't flinched. He expected the flinch even if it did bother him some, how could it not? But at least she wasn't unpredictable. "I shall try and come back. I will do what I can." He answered as he tucked the water bottle away into the small little first aid kit he had with him, it seemed to be coming in handy to have it. It seemed to have been a good purchase as it was coming in handy, he'd just re-purpose it when this was all over.

Nodding his head he smiled to her, a very slight smile but still a smile. "I have been and will continue to care for them - and you." However he could. He was limited, severely so, in what he could do for those kept here. He hoped what he could do was enough to see them all through this. "I will tend to you all, however I can, as you each need it. I am putting needs over who is who." Over rank, over anything else. Acrucis just happen to be the worst of the four. "No, your not as bad off but you need tending also." He stated honestly, they all needed care that was for certain. They would all be on downtime if, and when, they got out of this fun house of horrors. They would need doctors and more he was sure.

"Are wrist...as she mentioned it he looked down at the appendage and shook his head in sympathy. "I wish I could tend to that. The best I can do is suggest you don't move it and I can try and get an icepack for you. You'll need a hospital once you all are freed." If they were, he was sure they would be though. The senshi and knights weren't likely to rest until they got their fellow members free of this horror. "You will go home - soon. I can't help you there either but I can help you while you are here." He stated while gently petting her hair. "Do you want me to bring you an ice pack?" He asked gently.

Needs over who was who - after all she had heard the past few days, being reminded inside and out how useless and incapable and disposable she was to everyone involved, it was a relief to hear someone put aside all of that and focus on the person instead of the rank. It was like a small weight lifted from her chest, even if only for as long as he was here.

Of course, she knew he couldn't exactly just go and fix a broken wrist - she told herself she wasn't being logical, as hard as she'd hoped that maybe he was a doctor or something in his civilian life. He looked young though; young, and old, if that made sense. Amphitrite sniffed hard and tried to pull herself back together, but the gentle touch of his hand on her hair was just a welcome gesture that she almost cried harder. "Anything, " she breathed out, nodding as she squeezed her eyes shut to try and force the tears to stay in check. "I'll take anything if it'll make it hurt less."

She'd been so protected, so loved, so lucky, and even if she'd known it, now she felt it. This was pure agony in comparison to the life she'd grown up in. If only she'd just stayed there --

"Listen, " she choked out, sucking in air to compose herself, if only just barely enough to talk. "If I - if I give you a -- a name, if you promise you won't hurt them, if you -- if I don't -- " make it out alive, "if they -- " killed her, "Will you tell them I'm sorry I couldn't -- I couldn't bring their daughter home?" She didn't want it to be too personal. She couldn't afford to give too much away. She couldn't put her father, her mother, her brothers, any of them through this or worse. But the idea that if something did happen, if they didn't know -- "Please swear to me. Please. If I give you this name, swear you won't give it to anyone else?"

"I will try and get an icepack then, it will take some time, and I will try for some pain killers as well." He would try and do his best to help her as he was trying with the others. He would try and sneak such things in without gettnig caught, cause he knew what broken bones were like - they hurt. However this was just one more person to help, not that he wasn't expecting it or even upset by it, it just meant more for him to do and more risk and thus stress.

Nodding his head he reached forward and touched her eyes, gently, wiping away any tears she had. "Of course...I can do that." He understood what she was asking and more importantly he understood why she was asking this of him. "I won't tell anyone....to fight for what you believe, even if it's different from me, it still makes you a solider and they should be given certain respects and the like." Thus he would grant her this should the need for the request come to pass."I just hope I do not need to do this for you."

She sniffed, inhaling deeply as she fought again for control. She tried to force a soft laugh, but it sounded more choked and strangled than anything. "I hope not either, " and she tried to coax herself to smile in spite of the gravity of what she was doing.

This time six months ago, she never would have imagined this was what her life was going to be. Natalie had had so many big plans for summer. Friends she wanted to see. People she wanted to see. Things she wanted to do - all of them. She never had gotten to take Barry up on his baking lessons. She wished she had. She wished she had and hadn't done a lot of things.

At least this was one thing she knew she was doing right, as much as she didn't want to do it at all. "His name is Anthony Roux. You'll probably find him as Pete though - it's his middle name, Peter. See, he owns the pet shop in town, and he's crazy about alliteration and making things sound catchy, so... what sounds better, Tony's Pets or Pete's Pets?" She laughed softly at the thought, ignoring the throb of pain in her ribs. "Don't even get him started, he'll go on this long rambling rant and it's the dumbest thing you'll ever..."

Amphitrite trailed off, looking down. There was a chance she'd never see him again; a very real, definite chance.

"I will do my best, I promise you, to see to it that you make it out of here alive." He whispered, wanting to assure her of this. he would try his best and if he failed it was only because he was not srong enough, not capable enough. He would put everything he had in to helping her and the other three he had thus far taken under his wing and sworn, to himself and them, to get through this. This was not what he'd signed up for, kidnapping and torturing. This was what they'd once, so long ago, talked about the other side doing to their members! He wasn't around then but he'd heard of the incident and knew it bothered some..so why do it themselves? It didn't sit well with him in any manner.

"if I fail...if something happens to you. Is there anyone on your side of this war you'd like me to speak with - to tell them?" he would try and remove her body, if she didn't make it, and bring it to this person as well. All soliders deserved a proper burial and proper respects given to them, as he'd already said and as he may again in the future if that nightmare came to pass. For a moment he was gripped tightly, his stomach clenching as his chest constricted, at the thoughts of that future and his own end - his own words to his fellow General Queen. Biting down on his lower lip he fought for control over his emotions.

Hearing the name, and everything else she said about the person, he felt a smile tugging his lips. "Alright, I'll tell him if anything happens to you. What name should I tell him...who should I say is not returning to him?" He whispered while removing his gloves in order to gently pet her short hair. Oh, he hoped he could get her through this. He didn't want to have to track this person down, not because of the work involved, it wasn't something he wanted to do.

(Sorry for the long wait.)

"Natalie - his daughter, " she half-whispered as she closed her eyes. She wished she could will it and picture herself back at home. That it was her dad patting her soothingly on the head instead after a bad day at school, some stupid drama or something. She almost had it - but the smells and sounds gave it away. There was no little brother shuffling around in the other room, no mother putting away the dishes her husband had washed for her, no scent of candles or animals from her dad's day on the job. It was all wrong; everything was so wrong, and there was nothing she could do to fix it.

She bit her lip again and made a choking sound that might have been a sob if she'd let it. The weight of Amphitrite's own mistake was growing heavier with her fears of what seemed to be inevitable, and it was a wonder she could lift her head at all. "If you could tell him something, I - could you tell him Natalie loves him?"

She never thought she'd be saying something like this. It felt so final, but so surreal. "And mom, and that little idiot, and Angelo - please, ask him not to be so mad at Angelo, okay? This wasn't his fault. Natalie did something stupid, so so stupid, and if she'd just listened to her dad then - " She was slipping into a tangent, and she had to pause and take a few deep breaths to calm herself. Panic came too easily now. Another reminder of how much of a failure she was. "Don't be mad at Angelo - that's what Natalie wants, " she sighed out; she was shaking, but this was more important than that. "Would that be okay? - you wouldn't mind telling him that? He'll probably be mad when you do - he's really a nice man though."

Listening to her speak he understood what she wanted. She wanted him to give closure to her family if she didn't make it. The very idea of being the one to bring such news to people....it hurt. The idea, of knowing what such news would do to his own family, had his stomach twisting in knots as his chest tightened and he had to alter his breathing to calm himself. To hear someone speak like this and to know that they really didn't think they were going to make it. He hadn't ever been in that position, not yet anyway. He could remember it in the future. He could still remember asking his fellow General Queen to bring his body to his family, to tell them how he had come to die, and to attend his funeral. He could remember it all, he had dreamt it a thousand times, and he would dream it a thousand more.

For a moment he wanted to reach out and take the senshi into his arms and hold her, to whisper false promises into her ears. He wanted to swear upon every star that she would see her family again, that she would live. He didn't though, he wouldn't give her such lies and false hopes, wouldn't promise on things like the stars which were his enemy due to choices made by him and them. Biting down on his bottom lip he shook his head, fighting off his thoughts and raging emotions.

"I'll tell them everything, I swear it." And he would. He would make sure he found her family and spoke to them, told them about her. "I will let them know everything...and I will make sure no one can tie you back to them." He would keep his actions a secret and cover up who he was as well. He would do his best to keep her family safe from being found out about, it shouldn't be too hard really.

"I hope it doesn't come down to this however. I hope that you are able to see them again, to speak with them yourself." He said with a forced smile. Petting her hair gently he leaned in to whisper to her, just for her to hear. "I'll bring you something for the pain, some medication, and an ice pack to help. I don't want to see you suffer." If he could he would take her to a hospital but alas...that was not within his power. He could do it, with a certainty he could, but it would blow his cover and get him killed - this he could not do this. "I apologize for not being able to get you out of here...for not being able to get you proper help." If she survived this what would she say to others of him? Of this meeting between them? Would she tell anyone? Would this be their little secret? A bond formed between them that would last...for how long?

"Just please...hang in there and do your best. I want to find out you've been freed and are safe and sound." He spoke gently, petting her hair once more before drawing back.

Amphitrite smiled, even as moisture gathered fresh at the corners of her eyes. "Thank you, " she said, her tone soft, but as genuine and heartfelt as she could muster.

Was it what she wanted? No. What she wanted was to escape, to be saved, or even just be freed. She didn't regret that she hadn't told that general a name - no, that wasn't right. She knew she shouldn't regret it. But she still did. That had been her one chance, and it had long since passed. Amphitrite really just wanted to go home above anything and everything else. - and she had to come to terms with the knowledge that her one wish probably wasn't going to come true.

It wasn't what she wanted - but it was the best she could ask for, and it would have to be enough. She opened her mouth to say something as he drew back - but slowly closed it again, drawing her bottom lip between her teeth and forcing a smile. "I'd like to find that out too, " she said as lightly as she could, fighting to keep tears at bay. The senshi was struggling; one or two slipped past, streaking fresh paths down her filthy, bruised cheeks.

I'm so scared. Please don't leave me. Please don't let them come back. Please don't let me die here. What good would it do to say those things now? By promising her what he had, hadn't this man already done enough? "If - when I'm free - " she said quietly, deliberately keeping her voice low, "Let's get ice cream or something, okay? Do you like ice cream? I'll treat." It was such a stupid, trivial thing to say. That's why she had to say it. "I'd offer you buy you a drink, but you'd have to wait a few years, " and she tried to laugh, but just smiling was hard enough.

Watching as trails of dirt were washed away on her face, from the tears, he took off a glove and reached out to gently wipe the moisture away and forced himself to smile down at her. "Think nothing of it. We are all fighters in a war, soldiers and warriors. We fight for different reasons but we all fight for what we believe is right. There is a certain honor in that. To fight as we all do for what we believe and to risk so much, to give so much. Even an enemy, someone I'd fought with for years, I would still respect and do this for." Maybe he wouldn't have months ago, it was highly unlikely, but after seeing the future and how wrong his own path was he had changed things. He had to fight for what he believed, as did they all, and that was what mattered more than a title and more than a side - more than Negaverse, Senshi, Dark Mirror, and Knight. More than that was the reason which drove each individual to fight and to risk and give so much. They fought, some more than others, with everything they had and with such passion and belief in their reasons. It was enough to gain his respect and having seen the path of the Negaverse he couldn't look at senshi and knights as enemies as a whole, save the few exceptions. It simply wasn't possible any longer.

"Hopefully you get to find that out." He hoped she got out of this alive, he really did. He wanted to take her away from here, to get her help, to get her family to her, but he didn't. He couldn't. For all the power he had he couldn't do what he wanted and knew he could physically do. He wanted to stop her tears, to stop her sorrow and just...make her happy and bring a light to her. He wouldn't be sleeping tonight, he knew it already.

Smiling, almost choking on tears, at the sudden and unexpected question that was so...normal he nodded his head. "I do...I do like ice cream. You can treat me to that and I'll treat you to coffee and dessert. How's that sound?" He questioned. Wanting to continue with the happy, and normal civilian, conversation. Running his fingers through his hair he laughed. "I'm 19, I'll be 20 less than two months. So the wait wouldn't be that long, however I don't drink really. Ice cream sounds good though." And so did coffee and dessert. "Rest now though. Let me get what I need for your arm and I'll wake you when I return." He would not let her continue on in pain for longer than needed, even if he wanted to go home or somewhere else - anywhere else.
