: The family :
Some history:
Kari and his mate met in the old tuait pride and fell in love, but Fuu suffered from a huge case of wanderlust and would frequently roam around the roguelands. He had a random fling litter in the Jini but on the way home he vanished. Kari's pride finally disbanded after struggling to survive, leaving Kari to fend for himself. He went in search of Fuuen but ran into Fuuen's daughter instead, a girl named Kali. She took him back to the Jini, her homeland, and he became great friends with the mom of the litter Maisha, the daughter Kali and a recently returned sister, Aspros. Fuuen finally turns up with another daughter (Tora) after having escorted her and another of their sisters (Mudkippe) through the Roguelands. (Mudd ends up joining the stormborn before they get home.)
Kari comes up with the idea of flinging with Aspros who is now a very close friend. He has always dreamed of a huge family for himself and Fuuen, and Aspros loves family but has no idea how to be a mom. So this way she gets to have lots of family and company without having to worry about raising the kids with the bad luck she believes she suffers from. And Kari gets his large family and the chance to be the mom he was always supposed to be. Kari and Fuu will basically be raising the kids themselves after they are weaned, with Aspros visiting a lot.
Kari will be raising his babies to love everyone equally, and to see their relationship as normal. He's an incredibly affectionate male and a loving parent, they won't be wanting for anything. They will all be well adjusted and highly adored. Plus with a dad like Fuuen they are likely to be far more mature than other cubs their age. (Fuuen is just awesome.). There won't be a question the cubs can think of that he won't be able to answer.
Their two aunts, Kali and Tora, where there when Fuuen and Kari reunited and are both are very supportive of the males.

 Kari : Mom
This whole thing was Kari's idea.
He's an incredibly affectionate male and a loving parent. Kari will be raising his babies to love everyone equally, and to see his relationship with Fuuen as normal. They will be well adjusted cubs with knowledge both about their homeland and the big wide world beyond. As both Kari and most especially Fuuen have spent a good deal of time in the roguelands.
 Fuuenken : Dad
Fuuen is Kari's mate. He is actually the cubs' Granddad but we aren't mean enough to call him that.
Fuuenken is the Rogue King. He carries himself with an almost unconsciously regal air and it's difficult not to perceive him as the owner of any land he stands on. A rough start in life forced this lion to mature quickly in order to survive and from it there is a wisdom about him that makes him seem much older than he is. (Apples) Fuuenken loves his and Kari's children equally and will always foster and encourage their uniqueness and individual personalities.
 Aspros : Birth-Mom
Aspros will be an unsure mother. She believes she is bad luck and will not want to have it rub off on the cubs, even though she loves them.
 Kalisha : Aunt
Though she inherited her mother's looks, she has most of her father's personality, and given her father is one rather infamous Fuuenken, that might not bode well for her family. Playful and too smart for her own good, she spends most of her time sneaking about the pride and jumping out at unsuspecting visitors, though as a Ghost it's kind of her job. Her cheeky yet charming personality but can be dry and abrasive if she takes a disliking to someone.
She met Kari first, having been the one he followed to the pride from out in the roguelands. It was also Kali that introduced him to her mother and has been watching their close friendship develop. Secretly she had hoped he might fall for her mother but once Kari explained his situation she instead saw him not as a surrogate father, but as a kind of brother/lost soul who needed looking after. She will dote on the cubs and most likely act more like an older sibling than an aunt. Being still quite playful and cublike herself.
 Torayuki : Aunt
Torayuki never expected to find her father while out on her naming quest, but without him she might have never found her way home. She certainly expected things to turn out differently than they did, having initially thought that the reunion between Fuuenken and her mother might rekindle whatever had brought her into existence. To discover her father already had a mate, and a male one at that was definitely a bit of a shock. She wasn't certain how to handle it at first, but seeing the unspoken heaviness lifted from his shoulders whenever he's around Kari has made her realize that she just wants her family to be happy. Tora adores Kari as the newest addition to their growing family and will happily dote on her new nieces and nephews.
 Maisha : Grandma
The tomboy of her family, 5th Daughter Mashika has a laid-back and bubbly personality with more than a touch of her mom's smarts. Time has not dulled this lioness' personality at all, instead her many experiences in life have given her a well rounded view of the world. Having joined the Jini back when they lived within the swamps she has been with the pride long enough to act and talk like a native, but she has never lost her rogueland roots and possesses a healthy sense of reality, most obvious when some of the pride's more traditional members start talking superstitious. She loves her family unconditionally and has a good friendship with the father of her cubs. She likes Fuuen but has never loved him, their fling being a casual agreement for the benefit of begetting a litter. Since Maisha never had any desire for a mate, only for cubs.
Recently she has literally fallen in confused love with a Kizi guest. Being blind-sided by this new emotion she may sometimes be distracted from family life, but will always be there with a willing ear and an aphorism.

Do you understand and accept their parents are gay?: I'm in San Francisco right now and my hotel is right next door to a gay theatre. XD Very much yes.
Personality: Ngawan is very outspoken for a cub. If something seems wrong or immoral, he'll march right up to you and point it out. This can cause problems sometimes, as you can imagine. He's fully aware that his family isn't normal, and is therefore very, VERY defensive about it. Since he's a cub, naturally he finds girls icky, but as he gets older he'll start wondering about playing for the other team, so to speak. XD Ngawan also enjoys learning about the different kinds of weather, and is learning to read the clouds.
Is the cub straight, bi or gay? Or is sexuality a fluid concept that means nothing to them?: He'd probably end up being bi. Considering how lovely he is, I'm sure he'd welcome any passes made at him, be they from ladies or dudes. |D

Ngawan had seen only the aftermath of what had happened; his sister, Sansai, with tears streaming down her little face and Risa and Flicka trying to console her. They didn't want to tell their fathers about what had happened, and as the little copper-colored cub watched, he felt an ember of anger flicker in his chest. Whoever had upset her like this obviously targeted her out of everyone else, he deduced. This only caused him to grow angrier. He walked up to his sisters, looking as stern as a little cub could.
"Who made ya cry, San?"
"I-I dunno, they were big kids."
That was all he needed; there were a bunch of cubs and adolescents, but not too many juveniles. Ngawan gently pat his tearful sibling's head and marched off. Fortunately, he stumbled across a group of older cubs all playing on a log. It would rock back and forth like a see-saw. However, they had grown bored after playing on it all day, and were now simply relaxing around it. A small smile crept on Nga's face as he saw (and heard) a plan lay itself out like a banquet.
Laying beside the log was a rather loudmouthed female, and her tail was right underneath the log. If one were to sit on the end of the log, she could kiss that tail goodbye. And considering what she was bragging about, she soon would.
"I mean, geez, if you're too young and dumb to like, get why your family is like that, then you're just not meant to be in the pride, y'know?" The other female cubs nodded furiously, murmuring their agreement. Nga began to execute his plan, and started jumping around, grabbing at the air. The females barely noticed him. That is, until he leapt onto the log and deliberately put all his weight on the tipping side. He tried not to break into laughter as he heard the loud juvie shriek. He even hopped up a second time, pretending to grab at the imaginary fly he'd been chasing. Only when the larger cubs tried to knock him off did he stop.
"Oh... sorry."

This little cub is one of the sweetest males you will ever meet. He loves being close to his family, especially to his fathers, spending much of his time pressed against someone's leg when he's little, or watching and playing with his other siblings in childhood. As he grows, his attitude towards others will only continue to soften, and his entire nature will be the sort that would take another in, happy to help however he can. Nonetheless, he is very good at moving about unnoticed, with his absolutely silent pawsteps and a very slow breathing rate. He doesn't mean to scare people when he shows up beside them! They just....somehow forgot to notice...He doesn't mean for it to happen.

The sun was high, the air clear and sweet...and to be honest? It made his paws itch to move! Without even thinking about it, Alyan idled out of his parent's den, after licking both fathers' ears. The earth beneath his pads was so soft, easy to move across, and with his own ability to move quickly and quietly, it didn't take long for him to locate where his other siblings were playing with some of the other cubs in the pride, and head that way, at least..until he heard someone talking to one of his elder brothers. Settling himself carefully on the edge of a rock, the cub began to listen, idly, curious.
They were saying...something about his fathers. About how they were an oddity, not normal. Of course his family was normal! He had a better family than most, didn't he? Lots of love, large cuddle puddles with his siblings...and then- Wait what was that? "Having two fathers really isn't normal, you know. The fact that you think they are, that's silly!" The little slip of a boy felt his fur bristle across his pelt, and without a second moment, he moved down the slope and in behind his brother, "There is nothing abnormal about our family. My fathers are the best parents ever!" His voice, a high tenor, was clearly distressed, mismatched eyes lit upon the offender with clear intent.
"You might think it's odd, but it's not! It's the best thing ever, and you're just JEALOUS." His siblings were beginning to gather around at this point, and to be entirely honest that made Alyan feel a bit uncomfortable. How was he supposed to handle this much attention on him all at once! "Y-you need t-to stop being silly." With that said, the smaller of the litter turned on paw and ran off to his little rock, huffy and irritable. Of course his dads were the best things ever. How dare anyone say otherwise.

When born, most might think that the cub is slow. This is because from his childhood, the young male is a watcher first and foremost. The sound of his sister crying was what woke Tûrin from his nap, eyes opening slowly as he tried to locate which sister, and why. It looked like some other insensitive male cub was teasing her about their parents. While he may not have been the eldest, Tûrin took some pride in having been one of the bigger boys of the litter. He was more than entirely capable of protecting Sansai to the best of his ability. Stretching out, he moved down the hill towards her, careful to cut her away from his line of sight. "Hey." It wasn't very loud, a soft, calm tone calling attention away from the smaller of his sisters.
"You might want to watch what you say." While he was very soft spoken, he was nonetheless very firm. The words left wriggle room, but his tone did not. It was frigid, icy, and strong, especially in the protection of his siblings and family. He was capable of protecting everyone...at least in his mind. Those strong paws pressed firmly into the ground as the other laughed, "Don't you dare even think about saying anything else, or I will hurt you." His paw lifted, a visual aid. The other backed up slightly, their steps carefully traced by his eyes. Once there was enough distance, Tûrin went into a quiet comfort mode.
His body slowly inched close to his dearest sister's, pressing his flank to hers as his tongue lathed over one ear. She never needed to worry as long as he was around.

Personality: A protector. Meir loves his family dearly and he doesn't really care who knows about it. And if anyone tries to make fun of him or his siblings they had best be prepared to deal with Meir chiming in on the situation. He doesn't like seeing people being put down and hated upon. Bullying, to him, is a horrible horrible crime and he'll always stand up for the little guy in the situation. Truthfully, all Meir wants is to love and be loved and he'll take it in whatever form it might appear before him as.

Meir could see the trouble. He couldn't hear what was going on, but something was certainly wrong as he could see the pain and grief on his sister face as tears began to well up in her eyes. He bristled up. His sister was his sister and no one messed with her, especially a pair of bullies! So without an ounce of fear in his heart, Meir approached the group and oculd hear tid-bits of what was being said.
"You're family is strange!"
"No one should have 2 dads who..."
"I bet you're all weird."
Meir growled as he picked up his.
"They can't possibly be in love and love you."
-That- was the last straw! Poor Sansai was crying uncontrollably now and had no way to defend herself from these horrible horrible cubs! He rushed up alongside Sansai and glared daggers at the cubs who looked completely unperturbed by the new arrival. "You're nothing abut a bunch of bullies picking on my sister! We are not strange or weird or...or -unloved-! You know -nothing- about us!"
The two cubs, both dark pelted but one showing the tuft of a golden mane while the other a much darker, almost black mane sneered at Meir. "You have two fathers. That isn't natural! That makes you weird!" The golden tufted cub grinned and joined in. "Yea! I bet you're all just like your fathers!"
By this point Meir stepped in front of Sansai. "So what if we are? We're loved, enjoy our family and look out for each other. What's wrong with that? If I find love one day like my dads I don't care -who- they are! I want a family just like they have now and I won't let anyone stop me!"
The cubs sneers turned a little darker. "So you -are- just like your fathers! Ha! I -knew it! I bet your sister will be just as bad! Isn't that right little Sansai? You're gonna end up loving another lioness. Well you just stay away from any of our sisters.' The golden tufted male said, indicating he and his darker brother. "If you come near any of them we'll make you pay."
Meir was practically ready to jump on the two cubs. How -dare- they act like that towards his sister! How -dare- they say such cruel things! "Don't listen to them Sansai. It's not their fault that they aren't loved and taken care of like we are."
The brothers inched closer to Meir. "The same goes for you too! Actually, I think you're whole family should just leave everyone alone and just disappear. That would make everyone here happy. None of you weirdo's is wanted here." The dark maned brother practically spit at Meir before turning his back and walking away. The golden brother glared Meir down before following his brother.
Meir watched them go all the while seething as their forms vanished into the brush. A sniffle and quiet sob behind him thought instantly cooled his temper and Meir quickly swiveled around to tend to Sansai. "Hey! Hey, just ignore everything they said. They don't know what they're talking about." He butted his head with hers in an attempt to ease the tears and show affection. "I promise you you are not strange or weird. If being loved and loving back as much as we all do is wrong well then I don't know what is right." He licked her forehead and practically bundled her up against him in a hug. "I love you sis. Who cares if those other cubs like us or not. They're only two. There's so many more cubs in the pride. Not everyone hates us because of our dads." He licked her face again before pulling away and nudging her. "Lets go back to the den. I bet everyone is wondering where we got off to. It's starting to get late."
With that Meir coaxed his sister to stop her tears and led her home. The last thing he wanted was for her to arrive with still wet tears on her face and to be interrogated by their siblings or worse, their dads.So, the entire way back he chatted her up and tossed jokes out and before they reached the den Meir had his lovely sister chuckling and looking much brighter. This lifted his spirits and he soon forgot about the anger he felt towards those bullies and relished the affection he received from his entire family. If what he had with his siblings and parents were wrong, than Meir didn't want to be right. This love was what he wanted in life and he didn't care how it came packaged.

Personality: Spunky and spirited, Aithne lives up to her namesake. She's a bold cub and adventurous, never hesitant to step forward. She may be brash, but she's also a protector, willing to intervene on behalf of someone weaker, whether a member of her family or no.

Yawning widely, tiny fangs flashing the sunlight, the female cub allowed the warmth to pull her into a drowsy daze. Some of her brothers and sisters were playing nearby, but far enough that their growls and giggles weren't loud enough to keep her from dozing. It was a peaceful afternoon, safe here in the swampy--
"--two daddies?!? Can you imagine?"
Though she seemed to continue dozing, eyes closed, Aithne flicked one ear towards the shrill tone that was followed by giggling. She was far from asleep now with her attention being raised. Slowly, she opened one eye to see a brightly patterned female cub speaking with another male and female who looked about the same age. Their names wouldn't come to mind, but she thought they looked younger than she and her kin. The same one spoke again, gesturing a paw towards the area where her brothers and sisters played.
"How weird. I mean...it's not normal or anything. Think there's something wrong with them?"
Difficult as it became to keep from reacting, Aithne kept silent...for now. But irritation was swiftly turning to anger. A fire sparked within her, prompting her to speak up, to take action, to silence the foolish cub...
But...her daddies wouldn't like that. Violence wasn't the answer...not even when dealing with fools. Not unless your life was threatened with no other choice, and that was hardly the case here. Her fury was lessened by the sobering thought, but she still couldn't sit still and stay silent. Not while they were talking about her family. Noting their gazes remained on her siblings and that she lay just out of their line of sight, she slowly and silently stretched and climbed to her paws, padding around behind them.
With a 'pounce' she felt a huntress would be proud of, she dropped a paw none-to-lightly onto the other female's head, leaning to peer into her line of view with a smile. The way she jumped was oddly satisfying. "Aww...what's wrong? Your daddy not love you enough? Jealous that we have two?" Though she wore a smile, her eyes shone with mischief.
"Don't worry. I'm sure if you stop talking about others like that, someone will love you as much as our daddies love us. One day." She ruffled the fur on the other's head roughly before slipping away with a sly smile. She kept her strides calm and even threw a little swish of her tail at the trio as she turned and left to join her siblings at play.
There was nothing wrong with any of her family. Clearly there was something wrong with anyone who thought there was.

Cub Name: Ales
Name meaning: “Defender of man”
Adult name: Sabri
Adult name meaning: - “Patience” This will come about when he meets the heartbroken and devastated Tuta, who will be vaguely unaware of his own sexual preference and thus be confused. Ales will fall deeply in love with him and tend to him, trying to heal him and ease his confusion. Tuta will refuse at first, but find himself drawn to him. Eventually he will push him away out of his own insecurity and fear of loving again and being hurt. He will thank Sabri for his patience and tell him it is one of the greatest gifts in life, hence the name. Eventually Tuta will come to his senses and find Sabri and declare his love, ready to be in a relationship again. Although it won't always be plain sailing for the pair, it will end happily.
Do you understand and accept their parents are gay?: Yep!
Personality: Ales has love and acceptance for everyone and prejudice for none, though protective of his family and their situation, especially of Sansai and isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in. He is an incredibly patient soul and sees the best in others, though isn't one to be pushed around either – he has his limits. He generally doesn't rise to any bait and doesn't resort to anger. I'm thinking before he meets Tuta, whilst he's young, he might get walked over or manipulated slightly- and this is the catalyst for him being a little tougher and realising that he can't love everyone and their actions. I'd like to develop this more in general RP, maybe him being a little bit of a pushover when he's a cub perhaps?

The concept of gender really has no boundaries to him when it comes to relationships, roles and stereotypes etc, and growing up in an accepting family has shown him that love takes all forms. (except perhaps interspecies, as it is not permitted in the pride, but this may not be tackled ICly) He will eventually end up with a male, but his attraction to females will also be explored, in the form of a cubless fling.

“I heard ya got two fathers, is it true?” A small voice chirped from behind the cub as he walked. The patch-marked female pouted gently as she looked Ales up and down with a look of sheer confusion.
Ales stopped mid-walk and spun on the spot to look at Etha, her bright blue eyes were so pretty, and under closer inspection, full of curiosity more than malice.
“I've got a Mom and a Dad... ” His brow furrowed gently. “Though they both have manes... and they are both males!” He beamed innocently. Ales didn't think it was weird, sure there were a lot of cubs with a male and female mother and father, but that wasn't important. They loved him and his siblings, and to him it was perfectly natural.
“That's really weird.” Etha said bluntly. She meant no harm by it- of course she was simply a child who didn't understand and wasn't familiar with such families. In fact, she had no father, so having two seemed pretty odd to her.
Though protective of his family, Ales looked over the female slowly. He had often heard that comments came from not understanding certain things. Poor her, it wasn't her fault she didn't understand that it was in fact quite normal! “Not really.” He said calmly. The brown cub pawed at the ground, looking at his delicately patterned front legs before looking back at the other cub. “It's normal to me. Besides, all that matters is love, right?” He gave a firm nod.
“Love.” Etha knew of love, she supposed. It was the bath before bedtime, roughly given by her mother. It was the late night stories, and the early morning playtime. Etha knew love with her mother, but not between parents. Though she'd never tell her mother, she secretly wondered what it would be like, to have both parents. Sometimes she craved it, she felt as if it may complete some kind of circle. “What's that like?”
“Love is...” Ales stopped a moment to ponder, thinking about his mother and his father. It was certainly a profound and abstract concept for a cub to ponder, though from what he'd seen he tried his best to verbalize.

We should all love each other.” They were wise words coming from someone so young, and he was shocked at how eloquently the came out, albeit a little squeaky.
Etha watched him with wide eyes. What he said seemed to make sense. Maybe it didn't matter? Perhaps we did have to be equal in the world, maybe that was what made love go round.

Cub Name: Dusek
Name meaning: "soul or spirit" i.e. ghost

Do you understand and accept their parents are gay?: Of course!
Personality: The smallest and the least colorful, Dusek always felt like the invisible sheep of the family. With so many brothers and sisters jumping around, why would his parents want to hear what he has to say (not from lack of love and attention however). Far from mute, Dusek simply felt he was not worth the space he took up, as if his place was meant to be the last in line. When he is challenged however, you get a 50/50 response of either over compensating to a point of embarrassing himself, or getting all worked up until he starts crying.
I can see his pilgrimage as a very stressful culture shock for a little bit longer than natural. His prime prayer is that he'll find a rouge or a pack of strong ruff necks to take him under their wing, give them a name then spit him on back out home safely. Of course, things won't go his way. I'd like to see him come across a gang of stormborn on their way to a viking. They'll give him some stupid name and lie to him about the meaning or reason for the name, and fill him with an inflated sense of importance. But this would just be one part of his adventure. He would probably come home with a mate not far behind him.
In his adulthood, when he returns from his pilgrimage, I'd like to see him become very close with Mom (Kari) now that his siblings are off on their own lives. Other than that, I'd like to let RP guide him to his future personality. But he will come home to build his family.
Is the cub straight, bi or gay? Or is sexuality a fluid concept that means nothing to them?: Gender identity is not a strong suit of his, so if you had to put a classification on gender preferences it would be pansexual (or bi, if you please). He's always the little spoon though wink

Prompt reply: At this point in his life, Dusek had finally caught up to be the same size as his sisters but he was still quite small compared to his brothers. But for some unexplainable reason he couldn't stop eating! The little guy had been finding himself starving every time he smelled a dead carcass. As a result a pooch of fat had been forming around his belly and chin. His mother assured him it was just baby fat growing back one last time, which only reassured him as long as he didn't try to quantify it. Being shy already put him at a bit of a disadvantage to approaching a lion he has any kind of feeling for. There also wasn't any sort of variation clearly explained to him of gender or friend vs love.
He never really even considered that there was a difference until he met Hudd. Hudd was nothing like him, he was brave, fit, and spoke his mind with passion. No lion had ever made sweet Dusek laugh so hard. Before they met, Dusek would never even imagine something like sweating could have so many benefits, but Hudd's body made a very convincing case. When they were apart, all Dusek could talk about was Hudd, regaling his glory to anyone close enough to listen. It was the most talking anyone could remember the little blue eyed adolescent had ever done in his short life.
The only problem was that all Hudd would talk about was getting a mate, he would never specify which gender out loud. Sure he would cat call and show off around females, but he would do that when they were alone as well. But Dusek came up with a plan, maybe if Hudd saw two males as a viable family solution then he would consider making a family with him! There was a speech he practiced over and over again about how they could fill each others needs if Dusek was just given the chance to.
His family gave him hope that love could supersede all boundaries, even if Dusek didn't quite understand where and why they even existed in the first place. Unfortunately, this would turn out to be the first harsh lesson about the rest of the world that he will learn. Love doesn't always trump predispositions of hate. This would be the last Hudd and Dusek ever saw of each other again.
