Rotom trudged forward in the cold night’s air. Ali wasn’t feeling well and he couldn’t stand to stay there while she suffered and not do anything. Their daughter Sapph was taking care of her while he went to find the medicine mare that had natural herbs that would help ease Ali’s sour stomach. It was bothering her so much that she was actually lying on her side. With his breath frosting the air as he breathed he reached the stream that because of the snow it was a bit higher than usual. He paced back and forth his blue stared eyes looking for way across. The stones he would normally use were being lapped with water which meant they would be slippery. Only full sized horses could wade this…

Pupil-less eyes stared out into the cold abyss as the stallion marched forward. He frowned at the cold, grimaced at the sting of his breath, and despised long journeys. However, he had heard of something that he simply had to discover the truth of. There was a mare, so they'd told him, who would use powdered unicorn horns to make healing remedies. While the thought made him nervous for his own horn, they had told him that she would only use the horns of the deceased, and only of the purest and strongest of the breed. They had also told him that the horns were taken willingly, and that the remedies were only given to those of the purest of heart, just like the beings that the horns were originally harvested from. He rolled his eyes at the thought. Surely this was just a trick. Who made remedies out of body parts?! However, a glimmer of hope was sparked in him. Perhaps it could help his mother with all of her ailments. Maybe, just maybe, it could fix her.
He groaned as he stumbled along in the bitter cold, only to find a stream, swollen with ice and freezing water. Of course this had to happen. As if it weren't already cold enough! He rolled his eyes as he looked around, hoping to find some way around or across without freezing his poor little legs to death. In his looking, he glimpsed a bit of orange. Curiously, he blinked. The little stallion seemed to be only half his height, and he seemed to be... See through? Nuc shook his head. Was he seeing a ghost?

Rotom was too busy trying to decide what to do. He had never gone up or down river from there so he wasn’t too sure if there was another way across but it seemed like the next logical thought… That he had missed the other stallion coming up. But it was when he started to feel like someone was staring at him that he looked up. Rotom tilted her head lightly… Why was he staring at him? “Hey uh… Did you happen to see a bridge or other stepping stones to cross up streams? I need to get to the medicine mare but… I can’t wade the stream…” He frowned looking at the water. Unless there was another way across he would have to ask the stallion if he could walk next him and support him across the stones. …So embarrassing.

Nuclear Waste's eyes widened as the small stallion spoke. So he wasn't a ghost after all? He squinted, trying to make out more of a shape, but nope. could see right through most of him! Curiously, he moved toward the Usdia. "What are you?" Not only had he never seen something so small that wasn't a foal, but he had never seem somebody who was... Transparent. For a moment the little male's words were lost on the bewildered stallion. "Oh.. Medicine woman?" His ears pricked. "I'm going to see her too... Not really sure where she is though... I don't see a way across, honestly. I could probably make it through..."
