Some mouths were bigger and louder than others. So with this little cuckoo, marked with blood-bright plumage and blueing the air in gather of attention. It had been earned, seemingly, from wounds healed too fast for nature that weren't present at the start. Schörl had looked at the wounds of each at days ending. Even if proper reports weren't being made of all sessions, that was something easily cataloged. Barbary quivered. The general nodded. The youma slunk down to wobblewalk to the turning table and start to lick the glowibg lines of the closest limb to the ground. Energy, energy, burning bright.

Ever since the visit by the Lieutenant in black and gold, Penthesilea had been wondering about this mysterious "she" he had spoken of. She had yet to have a visitor who accurately fit the sort of terrifying description he had given - no Lady General who would like her if she was clever.
When the door opened and the woman in green waked in, for the first time Penthesilea actually suspected that the General Quartz seemed to so fear might actually be here.
Not that there was much, yet, but a rough, strange catlike tongue on her leg, which was...bizarre, and rather irritated her already hurting legs.
"What d'you want." She said, her voice sharp.

Your soul. " I want to help you. " "But that means you have to help me. There are things that have to be known. If we can chat, if you can be friendly, then I can be friendly. Its all very easy. " "And a lot better than you've gotten up to this point from the looks of it. It has been pretty rough." Barbary's great paws clicked claws onto the surface of the table to stabilize as he craned up a bit to keep on to the glowing thigh.

"Bullshit," Penthe said, her voice sharp. "None'a y'all want t'help me. I ain't no use to you alive once you've got what you want outta me." Because she could not be corrupted, and so she would be killed. That was it. She glared down at the strange beast licking her leg - like a lion, but flat, which merely confirmed her overall feeling that youma were truly the most bizarre things in this universe.
"But hey, call off your walkin' rug an' maybe we make this go a little faster. I'm really gettin' bored of this whole damn thing."

So uncreative, so brash. Giving me orders and demands even? The general didn't waver in Mona Lisa smile. "He likes you." "You're quite mistaken, I'm afraid. You can be quite useful alive, to the right people." I'm sure the government would love to test someone with magic, if they haven't already got a dozen poor sots in some Area 51 somewhere. Not to mention to me. "And in the right circumstances. How much energy you do produce." And the machines made up for the lack of solar power by using the energies of the human body, a plentiful, easily replicated and managed source of energy. General-King Zinkenite can disapprove all he likes from his dust-covered lapels missing from the Infos Branch. If it isn't performed in the Dark Kingdom space or the Rift, is efficient, then what need or use are his complaints? Oh, no girl. I could use all of you, riddled with markings and 'uncorruptable'. What do I care that you cannot be turned? You can still be turned into a battery. "I want you alive. I prefer it. I'd be glad for there to be more of you like this. " "So you see...I'd like to hear about the day you started glowing. All about it." It was as if Barbary didn't exist. He kept licking, sandpaper tongue starting to raw the skin and tear at it. Just like any lion trying to remove protein from bone.

"Yeah, well I don't like him," Penthe shot, and even though she knew it was pointless she still struggled to get her leg away from that sandpapery, raspy tongue, flaring over skin already rendered painful and raw, and she could feel, slowly, new trickles of blood coming from where his tongue scraped her flesh. She grit her teeth, eyes squeezing shut. It was not the worst pain she had endured, but it was a discomfort she hated to have to tolerate.
A chill crawled up her spine at the mention of her apparent brimming of energy. "What're you talkin' about?" She asked, but she had a feeling she knew. She had been able to draw more uses out of her magic, and got tired less easily. Could the Negaverse tap into that, too?
That was a horrifying thought.
"Why d'you even care? It ain't like you can replicate it. It all happened on my planet and y'all can't get t'space 'less one'a us takes you."

The General slowly came forward, heels making deliberate taps to offset the rhythm of her dragon cane. "On your planet, then. You visit it and this happened to you. Do you like going to your world? Do you go there often? Once in a while? How long do generally stay? " "Tell me about your little world off in space. Since I suppose you won't be taking me there, you don't sound very friendly of that. Pity. " The cane was lifted, threaded into the red sash and pulled to loose it from its place on the Senshi's body. "Have you ever played with the magic that protects the lot of us- it's rather fascinating. Which parts of uniform can be destroyed or stained before new, clean versions materialize. Game how much that is, really. When does the magic decides that it should preserve some universal definition or dignity, or when all is well and carry on. Where can tongues reach." The cane hooked into the top of the layered skirts next, pulling them a suggestive gap away from Penthesilea's hip.

"It ain't that simple," Penthe said almost unthinkingly. "Took months'a tedium' ancient rituals 'fore th'glow happened." Why was she even telling the General that much? 'Because at least she has questions - at least I can answer her, and it hurts nobody,' Penthe thought. Give over some facts about her home world, describe the place where she felt safest - it wasn't as if Lelloich couldn't tell them.
"I go all the time, hafta, I think - if I stay away for too long, ever since th'glow u thing, I start gettin'...ansty, panicky. Like drink in' a twelve-pack'a Red Bull all at once." She had only let I happen once. "I go up as often as I can - every three or four days, usually only for a couple hours at a time."
She wanted to rage and demand her sash back, because Jet had only recently bothered to leave it there - but the less attention she drew to it the better, because if Jet hadn't spoken of what it could do then all the better. The fewer who knew, the more likely she would get out safely.
"No," she growled, rather than launch into a visual description. "Ain't never played with that, an' I'd damned well suggest you don't ********' start either." It came out sounding more like a threat than she had manages yet during her captivity. Ivynian my inability to keep track of s**t borders on legendary I AM SO SORRY

" Incomplete answers do very little by way of keeping my attention, you see. So I my mind wanders. You say rituals, but you don't describe them. You say you go for hours, but not what you find there. You say you get antsy and that you must go, but not what the end result is if you do not. Half answers. Half truths. You like halves." The cane shifted, moving the skirts up and up fro hips to waist to cover navel only- still on and worn but certainly no longer in place. Barbary pawed at the revealed nude bikinis, snagging lace on dewclaw here and there. "Try again. Try better, this time. Tell me everything. Friends tell friends everything. Everything keeps my attention from wandering off to other questions."

Penthesilea's breath hitched. Normally she certainly wasn't ashamed of her body, but there was shame and there was a crawling feeling of violation, and this was rapidly becoming the latter. She snarled, angrily, tugging uselessly against her bonds and trying to curl away.
"So what, I tell you what I can an'you...don't ******** around with my clothes? What ******** is even wrong with you, you creepy psychopathic b***h?" Not that she was getting out of this either way. "********' hell."
She took a breath. They could know about her, couldn't they? She risked no one else describing her own Transcendence. "There's a city, an' it's what I've been exlporin', where everythin' interestin' is. I found this old crumbly colosseum, like th'one in Rome? An' I...remembered things, th'first time I went in. Th'way Penthesilea became Penthesilea, back then, how she went from little girl t'full Senshi." She couldn't believe she was doing this.
"There were three trials. First one, I had t'kill a man in the colosseum, with nothin' but a single tiny knife. Second, I had t'save a life. After I finished th'second, I gotmy sash - an' after I went Eternal I did th'third." She was rambling. She was panicking - wanted neither Schorl nor her damned youma anywhere else on her. "Third rtual was another trial by combat - some sorta magic illusion thing, 'gaist what musta been monsters that used t'live up there. I couldn't figure out why th'city had walls 'till I saw 'em. An' when it was finished, when I'd survived 'em all, this happened. I glowed, an' I feltbetter an' stornger than I had. Ever."
She narrowed her eyes.
"That a whole enough answer for you?"

"Tsk." "Tsk.. Tsk." The General hissed the air at the back of her teeth. "Half answers, still. Half attention. If you're not paying full attention, then why should I be? You aren't being friendly, either. If we can't be friends, then we have to be something else. I have to look for what else you can be. " "Meek do my ears seek refuge, Mild do my lips open for." Nails clicked, ringing against the metallic surface of the armor brassiere that acted as the primary top piece for the Senshi of War. " 'You say you get antsy and that you must go, but not what the end result is if you do not.' You didn't answer that one. Incomplete...." Another tap tap and Barbary lifted to standing, investigating what was being pointed out. "Claws here, luv, then tug tug on each side. Should do the trick to bring it to her waist." "About those consequences, dear. Tell me about what happens when you don't go home. "
