Rire walked through the waves that crashed against the shoreline, she knew that she was safe and welcome on this chunk of beach, her uncle had claimed it long ago for his own private place and now she was using it.

She felt close to her mother here, she wasn't sure why but she did. The scar her mother had left on her heart was still tender and sore, but Rire rarely let on to it. She knew her parents had never had a love match, and it had just been Tac's luck to finally knock up one of his one night stands, but still..her mother hadnt had to just split out and never look back.

Rire's box had been the only one left with Tac and Rire felt that even as a box she had some how displeased and failed her mother and its why she had been the only one left without her. Tac had no words of kindness to soften the blow or the pain of it, but he had treasured his daughter and had done the best he could to raise her, even if he was over protective and it left Rire slightly...awkward in social gatherings.

Though Tac's lifestyle had rubbed off on Rire a good bit, she could flirt with the best of them, she could use her sultry words and affections to get whatever her heart desired but that simply wasnt the life she wanted.

Her eyes stared over the rolling waves out in the ocean, as she took a deep breath of the salty air and sighed. "Why momma..Why wasn't I good enough?" She cried out, the wind pulling at the tears that now fell down her cheeks. "Im a good girl momma.." She said in a hushed whisper as her head fell, and once more her heart broke at her paws. "I've always loved you, even though you've never known me.." She choked out.

Mikala watched from higher up on the sand dunes, he didnt need to hear what his niece said, to feel her pain ripple over the land. He cursed his sister, and the pain she had brought such a sweet soul, how she could have abandoned her own offspring was something he would never be able to understand.

And Rire was such a delight, he simply couldnt fathom not having her in his life and walking away. While Tac and he didnt always see eye to eye, he knew the brute of an a** loved his daughter and he loved his niece, she was something that had bonded the males together.

He rose to his paws and padded down the beach to be beside her, he nosed her shoulder softly. "Rire..She isnt worth it." He said softly, he knew how much weight and shame being abandoned Rire carried with her.

Rire shook her head, "Don't say that..shes my mother, your sister..how could you say that?!" Rire stared at her uncle with surprise, anger tainting her words.

"Because she is my sister that I can stay these things, your amazing Rire..and everything she could never be..don't let her continue to hurt you baby." He cooed softly to her, trying to ease her pain.

"But why, why couldnt she love me? Why didnt she want me?" Rire sobbed now, the pain of it all crashing over her.

He wrapped his leg around her shoulders and held tightly. "It wasnt you baby, it was never you. It was her that wasn't good enough for you." He said quietly. "Your beautiful, and strong and wonderful..there is nothing wrong with you." He tried to sooth her.

"Thank you uncle Mikala...but its..I just..I don't know." Rire said as she rested against him, she did have a wonderful family, her uncle, her aunt and her father..they had all loved her since before she found her way out of her box, they had loved and supported her, always.

"I love you uncle Mikala.." She whispered, as she smiled at him softly. "You've always been the best."

Mikala chuckled, "I love you too little flower, and I am always going to be here."

She hugged him tightly. "Thank you.."

"Anytime.." Mikala whispered as he looked over the ocean and knew, that if he ever saw his sister again..it would not be a pleasant reunion and he would do everything in his powers to keep her from hurting Rire further.

The pair simply sat together as the waves crashed against the shore, one wishing for the return of her mother, and the other wishing that the sister he had would never return to hurt the niece he loved.
