"Sorry for keeping you out so late," Dani tossed over her shoulder as she lead Alex up the flights of stairs to the level her apartment was on, her hand light on the other girl's. "Promise this'll be quick, and I can drive you home if you want." She'd needed to be unpowered for a little while, somewhere normal and, for all intents and purposes, safe. Seeing the girl get stabbed had pushed her beyond the edge she was sure she'd already fallen off.
She couldn't stay on earth. Not much longer. She had to go, had to finish--or, rather, start. Locate. Verify. Confirm.
Restart. Return.
It all started and ended on Mars, somewhere.
Fishing out her keys from her jacket pocket, she lead Alex into her apartment and moved into the simple space of the living room, a partially open wall showing the kitchen off to the right. A hall at the far end of the room lead to the bathroom and two bedrooms. Xanthus' three cats were already around, peering at her and her guest. "They're Kairatos'... he was staying here since his roommate-- ...died," she finished on a sigh, rubbing at her eyes as she fell onto the sofa.
She only lingered for a moment however before she got up and, after gesturing for Alex to remain in the living room, vanished down the hall towards her room.
Someone was already in her bed, but she flicked the lights on without much concern for the occupant. She knew she should have been. He'd gotten in the morning before at what she still considered the worst timing for a flight--just in time for her to tell him what Andronicus had just told her and Metis at the church barely hours before he got home. Moving to the bed, she leaned to give him a quick kiss. "I've got someone out in the living room. Need you to get up and meet us out there. I've gotta talk to both of you about something pretty big."
With that she straightened and went to open her closet. She pulled at the trunks stashed away looking for her larger travel bag, one originally meant for camping trips. Which was exactly what she was planning now.
Once she found that, she also pulled out the sleeping bag she'd stored away in her closet, both items remnants from the random trips her dad would take her on. "If you're not out there in five, Dom, I'm tossing cold water on you," she called to him as she left the room, returning to the living room to set the two items on the love seat and give a small smile to Alex.
"Drink? Food? Sorry, not being a great host right now, am I?"
