Athene stared at the message that had pinged his phone as soon as he'd powered up.

Was it a coincidence that it was date stamped the 31st? Or that the sender was the very person that he'd been planning to contact?

If it was then it wasn't particularly a funny one, particularly in light of what Liryn had told him - had woken him up to tell him - in the early hours of the morning. He had been startled out of a doze to find the small tabby bobtail sitting him, his eyes night glow in the dark as he spoke to him about a ball that was a Negaverse trap, people taken captive and an encounter with a woman that, from the sounds of things, some one had tried very hard to quiet - almost fatally.

He thumbed into his contacts until he found the right name, it not taking long for him to type up a brief message



He hit send, it perhaps a measure of his anxiety that the text was lacking the 'hi' or 'evening' that he usually started his messages with.

He sat down on the nearest park bench and absently stroked the small tabby bobtail as he settled down to wait.

He'd give it a bit, enough to try and anticipate a return message and then he'd try someone else in his contacts.

Athene shook his head "I was out of town for New Year's" he admitted. "I only got back yesterday and got your message just today." He didn't mention that it was days too late - he didn't need to and to be honest Athene was beginning to wish that he hadn't gone down to the family new year's gathering, beginning to wish that he'd put his cousin off and stayed up instead - after all it wasn't as if the gathering had been much fun either,

He looked at Thraen and then at the small tabby bobtailed mauvian "But Liryn was." His quiet voice was solemn "And I agree about co-ordination - this sounds like something that we should get the Watch involved in."

Liryn looked at the eternal who arrived, "I remember you from Avalon" he said, purplish eyes anxious as he just plopped down in front of the bench.

"Are you okay?" He asked, because if he didn't know better then he'd say that the other eternal had looked a little wobbly for a moment. "And I can answer how they did it - hotel lady said they were using the masks" his normally cheerful voice was serious. "It's why I was so late getting back - she came out to look for us, said she wanted to help us and she told us some stuff" his tail drooped "But then there was a dagger and she got hurt bad."

"I can contact Ash" Liryn said. "I know where HQ is." Their original ferry point for the BlackWatch had been atop of it. He thought about it "Although it may be easier to message her - I can use Athene's phone - she programmed her number in when she upgraded it."

His purplish eyes were as serious as his voice "And I know the names of three taken - Ganymede, Valhalla and Hvergelmir. I heard them mentioned when people were speaking to Hotel lady."

He looked at the tall eternal "Hotel lady said that she saw people disappearing and that she heard someone with a purple crystal say something capture and something about a ffff," his tail drooped and for a moment he was quiet before adding "But the dagger hurt her before she could tell us what the ffff was."

"When this is over we probably should look into finding a way of maybe seeing if it's possible to try and managing to reach the Knights, mayhaps see if Ash and the other mauvians can come up with a way for us to link our communications somehow." Because it would be incredibly useful if when messaging senshi they could also message the Knights especially in cases like this - particularly in cases like this. "Perhaps Bifrost can get a message out somehow in the meantime to those she knows" because right now trying to find a way to link the two methods of communication was something of a moot point.

He said nothing as Liryn told Thraen about what he'd uncovered, having been told the information already when Liryn had gotten back in the early hours of the morning but he looked towards Thraen at the other eternal's question.

"We need information" he said. "And we need to see if we can find any information about where they took them." Another look at Thraen and then at the small mauvian "Liryn should be involved with the looking since I know that he gets around a fair deal." More than Athene was personally comfortable with if truth be told given the tabby bobtail's propensity to find trouble. He bit his lip and then admitted "Even I know that this is something that we need to work on quickly though and that ffff, whatever it is, could cover a lot of things."

A thought struck him "Although whatever it is I'm assuming that it's some place empty perhaps or abandoned."

Because he couldn't see the Negaverse kidnapping people and then taking them to somewhere where there'd be a whole bunch of people around.

The fact that Ash had programmed her number into the phone at the same time as upgrading it into a smart phone had come as a surprise, although Athene didn't doubt Liryn's words - after all the small mauvian had been watching Ash at the time on account of the visor-wearing mauvian teaching him the new process.

He nodded at Thraen, eyes thoughtful beneath his glasses "We could get maps of the city, maybe section it - it's easy enough to photocopy stuff at DCU or at the City Library" he frowned. "We'd need a central point of contact to put the information together though." He looked at Liryn "Would Ash do it?"

He looked back at Thraen as he continued "And I know a few Dark Mirrors" he didn't elaborate on the how, instead adding "Our paths don't cross all that often, but if I come across any then I'll ask."

"I can ask her when I contact her" Liryn said. "Ash likes information" at least he thought she did since she was always doing computer stuff at HQ. "And I know a Dark Mirror senshi too that I might be able to ask if I can find him, perhaps two - Ida told me about one." His face scrunched into a feline frown "But it won't be easy to find either and I can't just ring them or get Ash to message them like she can with a senshi."

A thought occurred to him "There was another mauvian there when we spoke to Hotel lady, she came late so I gave her information on what happened. She thinks we should talk to the Negaverse - Captain or higher because Lieutenants can't teleport and Hotel lady said people were disappearing." Adding "She thinks we should make them tell us."

Because someone from the Negaverse had to know where their people were.

Athene nodded. He wasn't personally comfortable with the idea of 'full force', the idea of trying to beat 'press' information out of the Negaverse and as such was therefore not a viable candidate for such tactics, but he could also see the reasoning behind the mentioned other mauvian's suggestion that they make the Negaverse tell them where those that they'd taken were - because something like this took planning and planning meant that someone or (more likely) several someones had to be privy to the information.

He looked thoughtful at Thraen's query of there being anything else and then shook his head "No not that I can think off apart from us also getting any Knights amongst our contacts to pass it amongst them" it wasn't ideal, but without the two methods used between them unlinked it was the only thing he could think off.

"I'll get something together for Liryn to pass to Ash" he looked over at the cat in question as he spoke, adding "Liryn did you have anything else to add?"

Liryn thought about it for all of a moment, features scrunched up in thoughtful frown face. "No, nothing on my end." He looked from Athene to Thraen "I will contact Ash and then I will do looking" after all Athene had given him carte blanche to do so... Not that it would have really made much difference if the dark-haired eternal hadn't, however it wasn't every day that Athene gave him carte blanche to go poke his furry nose into things and although the dark-haired eternal hadn't specifically worded it as such he had said he should be involved in the looking which to his way of thinking was one and the same.

"We will get them back" there was absolute certainly in his voice. "Although we should probably get started and quickly." Because this was day 3 and that was three days too many.
