A year on from when the twins last defeated the demons, they had moved on with not only Dante pleased with them, but their parents too. The kingdom had finally started to heal from the disaster, finally buildings had taken form, homes were being filled with refugees, and each member of the family had less and less work to do. It seemed they could relax for a moment. An age of peace. The twins continued to develop their new found powers, oddly guided by Hana herself. Between work, she was either out or guiding the twins with Dante. Dante however found himself preoccupied a lot of the time. He tended to Soflora constantly, now understanding the depth to her thirst. And when he wasn't with her, he was with the other leaders or out on business with Vergil. Meanwhile Evelyn and Ruji travelled back to the kingdom to help with the clean up, while behind the scenes were trying to figure out the intentions of each family member. By this time Evelyn had figured out that she was no longer a demon, but rather a physical spirit. A one of a kind. Because of her no longer malevolent nature her physical being had changed, she became a more approachable person, no matter how sarcastic she was, and her and Ruji's relationship began to grow and flourish. He however was the one she entrusted with all of herself now, that had moved from Shortstraw and Kiera and onto Ruji. Depending on how Ruji responded to her, her affinity for him grew more and more. Amelie continued to grow as a personality and stuck with Amelia on a day to day basis. She was a lot more confident now, and seemed more like a mini Hikari.
No one had hear from Kyle at all, nor Aeron.
Until one day exactly one year later. The family were all sitting around the new grand table in their new dining room. It was Dante's idea to get everyone together like this, just like old times. Lilly had served the food and everyone was talking happily to each other. Evelyn focusing herself on Ruji, Evelin talking with her brother about the training they were going to do with Hana the next day, Hana talking quietly with Dante and Vergil about serious looking matters, Cale whispered things into Veira's ear while Amelie talked with Amelia and even Kiera and Shortstraw there talking while watching over Theodore and Evelin hushedly. Dante stood up like he was about to make an announcement. "Everyone!" He shouted as everyone quieted down and looked to him. "I know we haven't heard from Kyle in a while other than what he's been doing in the human world. But recently he's reached out to us." He looked down to a piece of paper in his hand. "He's residing in Russia for the time being. He's holding a ball in one of the winter palace's there in order to negotiate peace talks between the Russians and Yokai people." He sighed. "Anyone who is anyone will be there, so we're all invited. Every single person in this family."

There was something standing ont he other end of the hall, aginst a wall, leaning there in a shadow with two glowing eyes, "sounds more like a trap to me. Like cutting the head to all the snakes, Best take caution and have back up routs and plans before you all make such a daring move." Yuji stepped out of the shadow with his hands in his pockets, Hikari beside him. "I know it's been a while and all, been reastabilishing some rules down below. Had some preperations to make and all." He chuckled and pulled out a chair for Hikari but walked over and pulled a chair next to Ameile out to sit in himself, right across from Hikari. He whispered, "sorry I've been late and all... I recently got new responcablitys, and franqly your not allowed in hell Amelie." he chuckled and smiled to her, "which is a good thing. That defently stands for something, kinda proud of your recovery." He however started to lean on the table, "oh and where are my manners, Hello everyone, it's good to see you all again. Theador, Evelin, Ameillea, you are all looking so much older ever time I see you. Seroiuly, Evelin looks more and more like her mother, as does Ameillea, and Theador looks just like you shortstraw." He smiled and looked to Donte, "how Solfora doing I heard the news about her a time ago." Cresent, sitting at one side of Donte, next to Moon glared, "how would you even know that without being here." Veria about chocked on her posion drink, "sorry... I've seen dad about a time ago, Happened to mention it when he asked how donte was doing with the rebuilding and all that." She smiled.
It was true, even after a year, Soflora was still trapped inside that box. And over time, he got worse at first. They had to make ajustments to the coffen to hold her in there, including spikes on the inside so she didn't trash around as much in her sleep. But now, she was close to recovery, and able to speak in her normal voice, and everything. According to moon, she could be released hopefully in a final weeks feeding time. Which surly would mean Donte was relived.

Dante sat back down and looked gravely to the table. "She's been through some rough times.. but things are getting better.. slowly." Amelie made a face. "I'm not allowed in Hell?" Hikari giggled at her face. "It's a long story sister...I'll tell you later." Hana leaned back in her chair with her feet on the table and a drink in her hands. "Yuji's right, you know. This is so ******** obviously a trap. All of the Yokai family being in one place at one time? It's an opportunity not to miss for any of our enemies." Dante nodded. "I think Kyle thought of this." He looked back down to the piece of paper. "It's a masquerade ball." Evelin pulled a face. "What's that?" Kiera however looked concerned. "Masquerade.. it means everyone wears masks, concealing their identity. In this case.. it can only be a way to see who are truly your friends and who are not." Evelyn didn't look too concerned. "I don't think we should dismiss this though. Clearly Kyle has something planned, and I don't think that he would do anything actively against us." Evelin nodded. "I agree." Hana snickered. "Of course you'd agree." Kiera however looked unconvinced. "Evelyn.. after your report of the eastern kingdoms are you sure you should be saying that?" Dante frowned. "What report?" Evelyn pulled a face. "It doesn't effect my opinion of him." Vergil's eyes thinned. "What happened in the eastern kingdoms?" It seemed everything that was kept secret for over a year was finally coming out now. "Oh.. uhh.." Evelyn stumbled over her words and looked desperately to Ruji for help.

*Ruj got the look and nodded, knowing it wouldn't effect him emotionally to say it for her as he leaned on the table, "that apparently you and your wife are after the book that Kyle possesses. And Upon finding out, a year ago, Evelyn and I were mislead to find ourselves almost killed and eaten by her. All in attempt to see whos side you are really on, and wether or not your story about being part of the family had checked out." Yes. Ruji told the truth, he just about always told the truth. He looked sternly to Vergil, "we can speak more about the matter after this dinner if you wish. I can understand it's a personal affair, therefor that is why we stepped off when we relized just all the details and more questions. It's isn't our buissness really, therefor we will only step in if need be." He nodded.
Yuji looked to Keria, "by the way Keria, if I can have a word with you about a matter later it would be helpful. All this Heven and Hell treaty stuff isn't ment for a family dinner such as this." He smiled
Just then there was a knock on the door as Lilly sprung up from the table, "Fu were you expecting anyone?" He shrugged, "nope I checked the list twice, this should be everyone." He siad grumply under his cloak as he pointed to Evelin and Theador, "you two have been improving. Perhaps some time I can test your weapon skills. Surly a weapon master like me can show you a few things that you cant learn simply on a battlefield." He nodded.
Lilly opened the door and couldn't belive it when she was walking back with three people behind her. She silently sat down as Ava smiled, "hello everyone. Sorry im late, I had to visit train to see if he and the Cats were coming, but he's kinda on kid watching duty, and it's a horrable mess... litarly. Infact it's histariclly funny to see. However I did happen to get Hiyo and Silvea to come." A man with some fox tails wishing behind him stood uneasy, "urmmm... he... hello... nice to meet you all..." beside him was a five year old girl with a finger in her mouth, silver tails behind her, silver hair, and was holding her fathers hand. Ava smiled and crouched down, "Come one Silvea say hi to all your aunts and uncles, and grandpa's" The little girl just blinked and looked to Ava confused. She then waved however in response...

Hana looked through thinned eyes at Hiyo and Silvea while she drunk all the alcohol in her hand. As she slammed the glass down she leaned over the table. "So it's you guys." She stood up and walked over to them both, slightly intoxicated, however still in control over herself. Unlike some people, she could handle her drink. She went face to face with Hiyo, looking him up and down, before looking to Silvea. "Eve's family." She backed off a little, looking to soften a little as she glanced to Hiyo. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Hana, one of Eve's half sisters, and her previous protege." She crouched down to Silvea's level and smiled a little. "Hey there little one I'm your mother's sister, but everyone just calls me auntie Hana." Both Kiera and Evelin were gobsmacked. They'd never seen Hana be.. friendly before. Kiera looked back to Yuji however found herself fixated on Hana and the child. "Yeah that's fine Yuji.. I expected some sort of talk about that sometime."
Dante looked to Vergil with a concerned expression. "Is this true, Vergil?" Vergil looked down, however didn't look like he was backed into a corner like Evelyn was expecting. "Yes, it is. I was in a relationship with a powerful demon once, and she does want Kyle's book, but my intentions have changed. I've dedicated myself to Dante and his cause, all other earthly pleasures and desires are forfeit." Dante looked back to Evelyn and Ruji with an apologetic shrug. "I don't believe there's an evil bone in his body guys." Evelyn made a face. "How strange.." Vergil however looked to them both. "I would very much like to speak to you both after dinner though, if that is all right."

*Ruji gave a nod, "vary well Sir Vergal." Everyone was kinda staring at Hana right now. Silvea was a shy girl, and her tails sorta flopped around a bit before one came up and she hugged it to better hide half her face and most importantly her mouth. But she had a look of a frighten girl in her eyes, she glanced up to Hiyo who smiled down, "it's okay Silvea this Is one of momma's sissys. Remember what momma taught you about meeting new friends?" Silvea nodded and looked back to hana and she hesitated but her really squeaky voice sounded, 'h...he... hello... I'm im im... sil.. vea." She studdered shyly. She slowlyer reached out a hand for a handshake, even though it was shaking alittle bit, and she was squeezing Hiyos hand tightly, it was so cute of her to make her first attempt to meet someone of the family other then Veria and Ava. Veria however leaned over a bit to get a good view and held a smile, but said and did nothing. Ava pulled up a chair and bent down, "come on over her lets get you in a big girls chair." Silvia was soon sitting at a table with everyone, across from Hana, and hiyo to one side of her, Ava to the other. She just about always looked down, feeling she was on the spot light because of her tails. Much like Ameillea was with her wings. Hiyo scratched the back of his head, "She's a really spechal Kitsuine Rencarnation sorta... and I apologize in advance if her tails end up in places... she has trouble controlling them all at once... us Kitsuines can hide our tails, but she cannot." Rose on Ameilleas shoulder glared, "it's odd to see you again. She was just a newborn last I have seen her." She nodded and shied, "I feel old." She layed down sadly.

There was almost an awkward silence before Dante inevitably broke it. "I still haven't got an answer people. Should I rsvp to this invitation?" Evelyn pulled a face. "How is that even in question? Yes." Kiera scowled at Evelyn. "I think we should be more careful about this, no." Evelin sobbed. "But mom! All the pretty dresses!" Hana snickered. "Evelin's right, you held a ball before Kiera and it went just fine then." Kiera shot daggers at Hana. "This is a completely different level Hana, plus you spent that ball getting drunk and flirting with guys anyway." Hana rose an eyebrow. "Evelyn got drunk too!" Dante looked confused. "I thought that ball was fine." Kiera targeted him next. "You spent the whole of it making girls jealous of you and Soflora and then disappeared with her before the night was even over!" Cale slowly raised his hand into the air. "Can I say something?" All of the girls suddenly spoke in unison. "NO." Cale was very quiet after that. Hikari sighed at all the squabbling and just shut her eyes before finally a male voice interrupted. "If you want things to ever get better with the humans, you should go. However if you're scared of a little conflict, you're not even deserving of your high authority positions." Nate leaned against the wall with a grin, licking his lips before he looked down to Conor at his leg, staring at them all with a confused expression. He hadn't grown much. "Besides, it will look bad on your kingdom if you're not there, every other kingdom is going to be there, not to mention many human diplomats."

*Lilly gave a Shie, "but all of us? Some of us aren't even known really to the outside world. Like Fu, everyoens forgotten about him. Most of the time he's like a grave in the first place." She smirked as he started to grumble, "call me old one more time..." "Easy brother. We are all old here, or at least all of age. And HANA remember there are small children at this table, be respectful enough to WATCH your langage. I may be part of the underworld now, and dead, but i'll still whip my doughter infront of everyone." He replied with a glare. Silvea was still quiet, eating little bits with her bare hands as hiyo chuckled and turned her so he could clean her up as he spoke, "well I'm sure Eve wouldn't want us to attend. She strickly told Silvea and I to stay away from all politishal things. She doesn't want that kind of life for us I guess." He shrugged, "I cant risk it anyways. I now have control over myself but..." Rose held her head up, "the child is extreamly unstable. All Kitsuine of the higher class like her are at that age." Ameillea put a hand on Rose to pet her, "you should help her then. After all, they are the ones that freed your race, and realesd you from you guilt." Rose's ears drooped, "I told Hiyo I didn't want to be part of it. I ment it. I do not mean disrespect Mistress, but for once I will tell you No." She sat up and glared on the table, daring her mistress to speak out aginst her. Ameillea just stared for a while, seemingly try to come up with something to say back. Shortstraw however nodded, "sounds good to me." He looked to Keria, "I don't like the idea of the way it sounds, but frankly Keria, this is a big chance. If it does have a possablity to go right, then this ball could be the start of the world in a new way. Expechally after our rebuild." He nodded. Lilly shrugged, "I go with donte. End of story." Cresent went to speak, but Lilly got up and slamed her hands on the table, "you get him every time with important things like this, I want to do my job. My real job." Cresent shrugged and sipped some of her tomato drink, "you did your part when Lucifer was destroyed. Thus you are now just a cook." Lilly glared angerly and looked to Yuji, "see what you left me with!" Yuji chuckled, "hey now I'm dead, got both my ladys back, and happen to be king of the underworld and important once again. It's your problem." He chuckled and looked to Ameile, "I do remember back when you and lilly used to have fights like that." He laughed, "never ended well really, and most of the time I never reliezed them till it was way later. Veria finally spoke, as the table silenced, "Donte dearest..." she flicked her rist, her jewlary shifting on her rist, "I say we go~ The fact remains however who will truly be who." Ruji nodded and looked to Nate, "being your here that means the letter truly was written from Kyle." He looked to Evelyn, "we will not be proticipating at this time."

Dante scratched his head. "Okay... I guess we're going then. Although a few of us would prefer not to." He nodded to himself. "I'll write back as soon as I can. The ball is in a few days, so everyone that's going, prepare yourself thusly." Kiera made a face. "I'm going... just to keep everyone in check. I don't care how much you all won't want me there. I don't trust the idiotic younger siblings with this." Hana looked confused to Kiera for a moment before Kiera straightened herself out. "I mean uh.. you all need a guardian. And I don't want my children being there without me." Evelin leapt from her chair in excitement. "Yay! We're going we're going!" She looked to her brother with a smile. Hana snickered. "I'm not missing this for the world." Evelyn looked to Ruji with a small frown. "We're not going? Why?" Vergil cleared his throat. "I'll be accompanying Dante too. Masquerade's are dangerous places. And for people of high authority, it wouldn't be a party without some sort of scandal." Nate chuckled. "Not new to the whole idea?" Vergil frowned gravely. "I'm afraid not." Nate smiled. "They'll be glad to have a veteran there." He nodded. "Of course I'll be there too, with Conor. I'll greet you at the door personally." He licked his lips again. "Until then, happy arguing." He snickered before disappearing with Conor again. Hikari pulled a face. She didn't like this.

Ruji gave a nod, "you heard me correctly, we will not be attending the ball." He had another idea in mind, and he would explain that to evelyn after the talk with Vergal. Theador snapped out of his trance like sleep, "wait huh... sorry..." He chuckled and scratched the back of his head, "I was sorta zoned out, thinking of the Russain girl... I hope she'll be there too..." He chukked ackwordly. Yuji gave a nod, "good luck to all of you going to this Ball. Ah the living, times of decistion and percistion." He however frowned and looked sadly to the table. His son was there, and he couldn't even confront him. Didn't even say hello. He wondered if Conner saw him and Hikari. He wondered if Conner felt they had abandoned him, dumped him on someone because they wanted too. He wished he could go to this ball if his son was going to be there, oh how he wished he could actually be with his son, let him know that his father and mother did love him. But he snapped out of it and matched a look with Hikari that would explain what he was thinking as he looked to Ameile, "It's good to see you again..." he kissed her on the cheek, "I promes to come whenever you call, if I can okay. And to just visit more often too, maybe find us a meeting place." He looked to Hikari, "we should go." Suddenly Silvea spilled her drink alover Hana, using a tail to try and cetch the cup but failing, instead knocking Theador off his chair and onto the floor. As Hiyo quickly jumped up, he tipped over another of her tails, and things just became a big mess as she blushed and turned red, looking down saldy and putting her arms together as her tails calmed down and she just sat there sadly and shy. A little, "sorry" came out her mouth. Mor elike squale

Hana suddenly burst out into uncontrollable laughter at what had happened as she cleaned herself up and helped Theodore and Hiyo up off the floor. "Good knockout kid, couldn't have done it better myself." She rubbed Silvea's hair affectionately with a grin. "It's all right, you're just a kid." She stood up. "All right I'm off into town, some things I gotta take care of." She looked back to Silvea with a smile. "See you later tornado." She disappeared out of the room as Dante frowned. "Did someone slip her some happy pills or something?" Evelyn sighed as she stood up from her chair and brushed her white hair aside. "Be glad she's in a good mood for once." She looked back to Ruji. "Lets go." She then looked to Vergil. "You too." Vergil nodded and glanced to Dante. "I'll be with you presently master Dante." Dante flicked him away as he stuffed the papers into his back pocket and finished his dinner. "Yeah yeah whatever. I'll be with Soflora." He quickly left the room after that. Kiera stood up and walked after Yuji and Hikari. "You wanted to speak to me father?"

Hiyo apologized nd quickly got up to leave, taking Silveas hand as they walked out and she looked up to him, "daddy whats a torn-a-do?" She asked cutly.
Yuji nodded and smiled to Hikari, "You should talk to Ameile while you can..." as Hikari would do so he motioned Keria to the backyard, where they once had a talk many a times before when she was a teen. "This is going to sound really... well your not going to like it at first." He shuffled his feet, "but I want to ask you for that piece of the golden crown you have. Veria wont give me hers, nor would Eve. But I think I have a way to destroy it with the hellfire, and I need a single piece to test it on..."
Meanwhile Ruji stood straight, "Alright aside what have already been said. Here we are Sir Vergal." he replied unsure what to expect. Would It be a threat to stay out of his life, would it be a warning to back away, or would it be something different with a better outcome? He had no idea.
When Moon and Donte came to Soflora's coffen she spoke out with a soft voice, "how was the dinner?" She asked. Moon smiled and gave him a reassuring nod that this proved she would be able to come out soon. She checked the blood drawing hose, and cleaned it, before patting Dontes side and stepping out the room.

Kiera stared at her father for a few seconds, bemused, before looking away and shaking her head. "Destroy it? Why would you.." She pulled a face before looking back to him. "If neither Veira or Eve would give theirs then how did you come to the conclusion that I would be any more willing?" She cocked her head at him.
Vergil led them further away from the room until he was certain he was out of earshot from everyone. "You're aware of this demon named Aeron searching for me. There were rumours going around that I wanted the book Kyle possesses. So now she wants it too. I do not want it. It is a tool for destruction and I regret my youth to have ever written in that thing. However the book in her hands would be even worse." He looked to them both, clearly concerned. "Dante's legend hasn't ended. His struggles are not over. Defeating Lucifer was the start, now old powerful demons want to pick him off, outraged at Lucifers defeat. Aeron is one of them. If she ever gets to that book, she will know a way to destroy Dante. He's in grave danger." He looked to the floor. "For this reason I've placed myself by his side constantly. I fear the whole families safety however he is my primal concern." Evelyn sighed. "This has been one whole misunderstanding, then." She nodded. "I'm sorry to have blamed you outright." Vergil sighed. "I'm just looking to protect you."
Dante smiled warmly as he sat beside the coffin and put his hand on it. "It was a success for the most part. I mean at least everyone attended, and no one attempted to kill each other." He smiled more. "I mean that's an achievement in itself right?" He laughed. "How are you feeling love?"

*Soflora smiled even though he couldn't see anything inside the dark slit on the eye level of the coffen. "Good, it's not often you can bring the entire family together for anything. I've tried like twice, each time failed." She shied, "Well I feel fine now... less drained I guess. not exacly super charged in energy or nothing, but... it doesn't matter really. What matters is if your okay~" Franqly she felt she was to stay inside that coffen for hundreads of years, just as a personal punishment for attacking Donte. No, she couldn't forgive herself. But she knew Donte would not leave her in there, he liked alittle chance, and he was vary forgiving, expecally with her. She spoke softly, "donte... I've been thinking... since you wont leave me here like I want... well... I've watched Theador and Evelin grow up. Ive seen what they have become, and I've been watching keria and shortstraw... ever since they had the kids... well they... they've been closer and... when one isn't there, they always have... there creation. I thought maybe it's time... when I get out of here. To maybe try?"
Meanwhile when Hana was in town, a guy walked past her with smug expression. He was really relaxed though, but looked like a mess. But that was just him. He had black hair, short, but not quite buz cut, with jell holding it into small spikes. He stopped by Hana, "excuse me. I couldn't help but notice a girl that stood out in a town like this, but im not here for that sorta thing, heh not unless I win a few~ but I'm looking for game you see, a place to gamble, and bid... anything like that around here? Surly this capital has a casino right? Would yea mind pointing it out miss tits?" He held that same expression. His back layed back, his shoulders slumped, and his hands still in his pockets...
((XD me Joch - a man sorta like hana in a way, but instead of all the sexral stuff, he's into gambling, and playing games wether he wins or looses, he's cocky, and too relaxed to care about much of anything XD))

As Hana turned around she scowled at this new man. "Miss tits? Charming." She rolled her eyes and looked away. "There's a casino down in the south of town although that place is pretty s**t, if you're looking for the proper places to go gambling, you need to go to the dark side of town." She replied with a small grin. "Although I suppose you can't get there without knowing how. Shame, really. A greasy scumsucker like you would feel right at home there." She said with a snicker.
Dante smiled a little however sighed. "If that's what you want Solfora then I'm all for it, however don't suggest it for the wrong reasons. If we want children it's because we feel stable enough to have that kind of joy in our lives, not because we think it'll preform from magic miracle on our lives." He smiled however, looking away. "I think... I would like that, though."
