There was nothing quite like seeing former comrades bound and broken to slap you in the face and tell you that you have terrible decision making skills. Mascara and black eyeliner smeared across her face, Cyllene carefully managed to avoid eye contact with the officer that was guarding Valhalla as she moved past. She offered a curt nod and quickly made her way towards the Jupiter Knight that was shackled to the ground, her heels clicking loudly and echoing through the room. A few feet away when she could get a good look at him, Cyllene stopped dead in her tracks. Gosh, that was a lot of blood. A strange noise caught in her throat and she took a few steps closer before finally kneeling at his side. A black gloved hand raised as if she had intended to touch him, but she flinched and stopped herself, sure that anything she did would cause pain. In that moment she wanted nothing more than to remove his chains and get him the hell out of there, but she knew far too well that that would lead to both of their demise. The Senshi of Acid had never felt so useless in her entire life. But she figured that as long as she sat in the room with him, that meant no other Negaverse agent would be entering to continue with their interrogations, so at least that was something.

Since his encounter with the pale haired general, Valhalla had not done much to resist anything that was thrown at him. Mostly he was shown mercy and surprising compassion, which helped to ebb the anger and desire for vengeance he felt. Amethyst and the mysterious woman with white hair definitely saved him from bleeding to death, the latter on more than one occasion. His hands had been bandaged, but they still ached and needed proper treatment. His side stitched and eyebrow bandaged. He was covered in blood, both from when it had soaked into his clothes soon after obtaining the wounds, and then when he had no choice but to lay down in his own pool of it. It was mostly dry now, but no less gross. Even without being tied up, he doubted he could move.
Instead, he just shivered, feverish and having been stripped of all his armor, boots, and cape there was little to protect him from the elements. The cold bit at him until he was numb, but he shivered regardless. he didn’t realize the approach of the aura until he was pretty sure she was sitting beside him for a few minutes.
His one good eye opened slowly to look up at her. He was prepared for the worst but was immediately relieved at the sight of another Jovian. “Hey…” he greeted, his voice hoarse as he shifted his position on the ground not trying to sit up, but to try and angle himself to see her better. He hissed in pain as he did so, but was more concerned with her expression. “Are you okay?” he asked, hoping she hadn’t been hurt.

Cyllene jumped when Valhalla spoke and shifted next to her. "You're cold," she replied to him. That was definitely not what she wanted to say. And for some strange reason, the blonde began to laugh. She shook her head and wiped at her face before letting out an exasperated sigh. "I don't understand you two," she said softly, shifting herself so she was closer and able to gently push his blood-matted hair from his face. She looked him over before beginning to tear off pieces of her fuku to mop up the blood that covered both him and the floor he lay on. "You're locked up in here, chained and beaten and god knows what else... And you still," her voice trailed off with a heavy sigh, her eyes closing as she continued to speak. "I did this. I chose. I left. I went to Zinkenite and I asked for this. And I brought you here. Instead of letting Ganymede go, I followed the orders that I was given and," her lids opened, bright blue eyes staring down at him, full of pain and confusion. "And even though I did all of that, both of you lay in your cells, asking if I'm okay. Telling me that it's not my fault." Her voice shook now and she clenched the bloodied, torn fabric in her hands. "I don't deserve that kindness, Valhalla."

Valhalla watched her curiously with concern as he continued to shiver, though his expression was soft at the moment, Cyllene’s being there was enough to distract him from the pain and help him settle into a more peaceful place. He closed his eye once more as she worked to gently clean him up with her own fuku, just listening to her voice. While his current state drew out more pity from his more recent visitors, there were still very few who actually seemed to care.
It was strange, as they had never been very close, but her presence was sorely missed, and Valhalla often regretted not being able to get to know her better. Still, no matter what, she would always be a Jovian. It was her spirit that mattered, after all. Or at least that was what he liked to believe.
His heart hurt as she spoke to him, wishing there was something he could do to comfort her, despite not being able to do much of anything at the moment. “It’s not your fault,” he agreed. “This was my decision, and Ganymede’s too. We don’t resent you or think poorly of you… We just want you to be safe,” he told her, feeling a little more relieved that she seemed to have spoken to Ganymede, hopefully recently. Which meant she was still alive. He thought he could hear her screams sometimes, distinct to him over the others, but it could also be a figment of his imagination.

"It was a decision you wouldn't have even had to make if it wasn't for me. I could have let you go. Or I could've distracted the others or gotten in the way so you could run. I could have fought back. I should have fought back. But I-- I can't. And that's just so frustrating! I joined them because I wanted to be a part of something. I wanted the stability, the organization. I wanted to run so far away from the White Moon and the mess that the Court was and I ran straight into Metallia's waiting arms." Suddenly, Cyllene was overcome with laughter. Was she that blind as a White Moon Senshi that she had no idea that this was what she should have expected as a Negaverse Agent? "The Jovian meetings were such a joke, Valhalla." She continued to laugh. "No leadership. No direction." She wiped the tears from her eyes, unsure if they were from the laughter or not. She smiled down at him, an overwhelming sadness washing over her. "And now I have all of that. The structure, the leadership. And the direction, oh I have that too. Except my direction is to hurt people. Kill people, if I have to. Hurt you. Funny how that worked out, huh? I don't remember a second of who I was as a person outside of uniform, but I painfully remember every last detail of being a White Moon Senshi. And then I have to turn around as an Agent of Chaos and I have to fight the people that I remember fondly. The people that would never make me hurt or kill people. The people that had no direction or leadership, but that are fighting for their lives united and strong against us as we speak." Cyllene didn't even realize she had been babbling. "I'm sorry. None of this is your problem. We all make bad decisions sometimes, right? I'm just really, really sorry that my bad decisions has caused all of this. I mean like, I know I didn't set this whole thing up but I definitely didn't stop it so maybe my decisions didn't cause all of this but you know what I mean." Deep breath. "I'm sorry. That's all. I just want you to know that."

He listened to her, silently and sadly, as she spoke of the decisions she’d made and how it was her fault. He wanted to stop her and tell her how it wasn’t. How she didn’t know. How they didn’t blame her for wanting something stronger. Valhalla would agree that their meetings hadn’t been the best and they certainly weren’t structured, but they still all fought for the same cause.
“It’s okay,” he promised, shaking his head as she apologized, not seeing any reason to, but understanding why she felt the need. “It’s not too late… You’re still alive. You still have the chance to change things,” he reminded her. “I don’t like seeing you like this… I like remembering you as you were… Calm and collected. Confident in yourself and what you did… Not frightened and full of regret… This isn’t you, Cyllene…” he tried, almost desperately to get her to see that it wasn’t hopeless.
“I’m not telling you to betray anyone, or turn sides… I just want you to be safe… It’s not your fault.”

"Thanks, Valhalla," Cyllene said quietly as she smiled down at him. "I want you to be safe too. Not here, not... Not all of this." She sighed and took a good look around herself. War or not, at the end of the day they were all human beings and no one deserved what the captives were going through. "I'm gonna figure something out," she whispered to him, keeping a close eye on the guard at the door to ensure that he couldn't hear her. "I can change things, like you said. It'll be better and I'll be better and I'm gonna get you guys out of here somehow. It's bad enough I brought you two here, I can't let you rot in this place. I can't." She pushed herself to her feet and took a shaky breath, smiling at the guard at the door between clenched teeth. "I'll keep checking on you. And Ganymede too, I promise. Can I bring you anything next time? I'll bring whatever I can. I don't think aspirin's gonna help but I mean if there's anything I can do... Please, I will do anything. I need to make things right."

Valhalla watched as Cyllene stood up, grateful for her visit because it gave him some sense of peace knowing she was okay, for the most part. She could at least handle herself. And that she would make sure to see to Ganymede too, well. It was a relief.
He forced a small smile at her offer, but shook his head. “I’ll be okay. Just please check on Ganymede for me…?” he requested, knowing she wanted to fix things and grateful for her help. “Go… I’ll see you soon…”
The smile remained until he saw that she left the room and the door was shut securely behind her. It was then that his expression fell and eyes lowered back to the floor in front of him. He hoped she was right, that she could figure something out to help them. If not… well...Sylent Nyte FIN? Now Val has to meet Cyllene again so he can thank her. QQ
