"Come on let's go! We're gonna miss it!" Ryo-ohki said with the utmost excitement as she leaped towards the solstice festival as Ken-ohki rushed his hardest to keep pace with the excited little cabbit. "Okay okay, I'm coming." The made their way up a worn down dirt path towards the glowing light in the distance. All types of ulayas were gathering together to celebrate the coming of winter and the fresh start the new season would bring to them. As they got closer to the festivities the sounds of talking and laughter grew as tents of venders gathered their merchandise and games all in a collection of lights and sounds. Ryo-ohki's ears perked up, as much as they could with their long size, as she noticed the fish game and the cotton candy vender. Gasping with excitement her eyes glistened with enchantment as she let her eyes take in all of the sights that lay out before them. She turned her head back to Ken-ohki, who was finally catching up to her, and she gave him a large smile. "Do you think we can get some cotton candy?" she longed for the fluffy sugar to melt to her tongue and wanted to share it with her love, Ken. "We can do whatever you want." Ken-ohki replied, overwhelmed by the excitement that Ryo was expressing in her words. Releasing a squeal of joy, Ryo-ohki leaped over to the vender's tent and patiently waited her turn for the tasty treat Ken-ohki was going to purchase for her. "The pink one please!" she said with a squeak before taking the cloudy candy and turning to Ken-ohki, who was smiling from the joy of seeing her once again pleased. They walked over to a resting spot which was placed next to a playground and they proceeded to eat the sugary snack, small bites at a time.
Ken ohki watched the little ulayas play on the slides when he looked down at the cotton candy to see that there was only one bite left. Being the gentleman he is Ken looked back up at the kits, allowing her to have the last bite. The brown long eared ulaya never got a subtle hint and held up the stick with the bite of pink fluff on it and looked at him as if to ask him if he wanted it. Ken-ohki smiled with a release of a sigh as he moved the cotton candy back towards her, "You can have the last bite, it's okay." Ryo-ohki's face lit up and she leaped towards him and wrapped her arms around his body before giving him a kiss on the cheek followed by a great bigh "Thank you, meow!" Ken-ohki began to blush with the sudden contact which Ryo had given him. He was still new to this but it felt so wonderful that all he did was want more. Ryo-ohki then released him and took the last bite of cotton candy in a large bite before holding her front paws into her chest and letting out a large 'mmmmmm!!' Ken-ohki laughed a little before surveying the rest of the area around them with which he saw the fishing game. "How would you like to play that?" he asked her, his paw pointing towards a large plastic pool in front of a wooden shack strung with Christmas lights. "Oh can I?!" Ryo-ohki was so happy she leaped up and bounded her way over to the tub of water, Ken-ohki following close behind.
Peering over the side of the rim, Ryo-ohki could see a rainbow of fish dashing around all angles as they tried to avoid the nets other ulayas were placing into the liquid. Ken-ohki joined her side and followed her lead by watching the fish himself. His eyes landed on a caramel colored one with long flowing fins and he pointed to it, "Look at that one, it's beautiful!" He tried so hard to be talkative around her because he felt like she did most of the talking but Ryo-ohki didn't mind his silence at all. "Can I win it for you?" she asked, laying her eyes on his. Ken-ohki proceeded to blush before clearing his throat and turning to the vender. "One try please." The blue ulaya then handed Ryo-ohki a net and allowed her to make her attempt at catching the light brown goldfish. Ryo-ohki places her sights on the fish and waited for it to get close to her before leaping forward and throwing the net down, causing the water to rise up and splash all over Ken-ohki. Ryo shook the water off her own face and looked down at the net which remained empty. She then looked over at Ken-ohki who still had water dripping off his whiskers. She tried so hard no to laugh at the water soaked cabbit but she couldn't help it, he just looked so funny. Ken-ohki let himself smile as he also took Ryo-ohki to be a funny sight with her fur clung to her face and they shook the drops from themselves and began walking down the walkway to see what else the festival offered them.
"Are you having fun, my love?" Ryo-ohki asked Ken as she glanced over at him, the water in his fur finally starting to dry up. Ken-ohki was taking back by the word 'love' and he felt the blush returning once again. He shook the warmth in his cheeks away and looked back up at Ryo-ohki who was glancing at him with hope in her eyes. "I'm having the best time I could ever, just as long as you're with me." Ryo-ohki smiled, her eyes joining in, and she looked back in front of them just in time to see a giant carrot toy handing from one of the game tents. Releasing a large gasp she pointed towards the red and white striped tent with her front paw and looked over at Ken-ohki with so much excitement she almost couldn't contain it. Ken-ohki chuckled and nodded his head with the agreement that she could go see the large toy which remained just too high for anyone to reach. Ryo squeaked and ran towards the orange and green stuffed vegetable, Ken-ohkie once again two steps behind her. "How much to get the carrot" he asked the brown ulaya as he continued to hand out tickets to other festival goers. "The carrot is a popular one tonight." he said back at the long eared pale colored boy. "Wish to give it a try for the little lady?" Ken-ohki looked over at Ryo who was full of joy at the thought of him winning her a large memento from the solstice festival. "Yes please." Ryo began to look at Ken in awe, as if he were a knight in shining armor and he was about to slay the dragon to rescue her. "Great! Two small prizes over here will get you one medium. Two mediums will get you a large and so on! Three tries for you" Ken took in a deep breath and nodded at the vender before taking a ball from his hand and looking at the rings with which lay all around in front of him. "Blue ones will get you ten points, green is five points and red are just one point. You need 15 points to win yourself a prize!"
Ken-ohki tossed the first ball and it landed in a green hoop, filling himself with excitement that he actually got it in any of them at all. Ryo-ohki just watched on with joy in her face as Ken played the ball game. Ken tossed the next one and it landed in a red hoop. "Six points!" The vender ulaya said, making sure every knew the point count. "You need to get yourself a blue hoop to win a prize!" All the ulaya's words did was make Ken even more nervous to win this prize for his love. Taking a deep breath, Ken-ohki released the ball and it went soaring towards the rings before bouncing off a red ring and landing out of bounds. "Oh too bad!" the brown ulaya replied to his loss. Ryo-ohki looked up at Ken-ohki with a smile. "It's okay, I didn't win you the fish after all" Her smile was taken in so much that Ken turned to the vender and asked for another try. Ryo-ohki's face got all excited once again as Ken-ohki took his second try at the ball tossing game. Ken-ohki tossed the balls and once again failed to win Ren-ohki the carrot she longed for, so he asked to play again and again. Seven tries later and Ken was running out of money to play the game. He threw the ball and it landed in a blue hoop giving him 21 points. "Congratulations you have won a prize!" Ryo-ohki's eyes grew with happiness as she looked up at the large carrot which continued to hang out of her reach. "Here is the prize for the little lady" The brown ulaya said as he handed her the stuffed toy Ken-ohki had just won her. Ryo-ohki looked at the small prize, it was a plush radish. Ken-ohki sighed with defeat as he hadn't been able to get her the toy she had wanted so badly but Ryo-ohki looked up at him, with just as much gleam in her eyes and said "Meow Thank you!" before leaping towards him and embracing his body in her arms once again. Ken-ohki was surprised by the reaction for the radish toy was much smaller than the carrot he was trying to win her. He looked down at her with curiosity in his words. "You're happy even if I didn't win the carrot you had wanted?" Ryo-ohki looked back up at him, making eye contact and then smiling the biggest grin she ever could and replied "I was just happy with you playing the game for me!" She then chuckled and hugged him once again. Ken-ohki, although unable to win the toy of her dreams was now feeling really good with himself for bringing Ryo-ohki such joy. Ryo-ohki kissed Ken's cheek and smiled again, "This is the best day ever!"
