"So you don't need my help back over the roofs? I mean--"
"No thank you. Both of us will probably just end up falling instead of jumping, so really thank you but I'm fine."
"So you really can just... see stuff?"
"Sort of. It's not the way you see, but it's enough to get me by."
"Even the ledges though? I mean I don't want you to fall--"
The brunette turned faster than the Page had thought she would, the taller woman skidding to a halt to keep herself from ramming into the Super Senshi. Red eyes peered down wide and expecting a scolding--which, judging by the exasperated expression on the senshi's face, was liable. "I appreciate your concern, Themiscyra, but I promise, I am fine." She paused and let out a breath before giving a small smile. "Now shouldn't we go find your friend?"
Themiscyra raised her hands in surrender before taking the lead instead of trying to hover over the senshi as she had been. Had been since they'd left the party with her parents, after Danika had found Lilith trying to navigate the chaos of the attack with minimal success. Lilith had protested leaving and tried to get Danika to only worry about her parents--no such luck. Though Mr. and Mrs. Calchas had been more than willing to assist Danika in getting out of the attack, she'd quickly run into the same issue of being unable to leave to get back to help.
Until Lilith finally spoke to her on a whisper, and Danika had taken the risk and admitted she knew exactly what the Negaverse was doing back there. The two girls managed to give Lilith's parents the slip--something Lilith kept admitting she was going to get hell for later--and powered up soon as Danika said the coast was clear.
Suddenly going from escorting a small blind girl on the city streets to escorting an apparently not so blind girl across rooftops was a strange sensation, and one Themiscyra was trying to process respectfully. And clearly failing at.
"I told Andronicus--Uranus Page--to meet us at the church just two blocks from us. It's a big enough place, we can slip in and at least be warm while she tells us what we missed." The last words gritted on her nerves but she kept her voice perky. Missed. Because she'd run away. Sure she'd done it to help someone but that didn't calm her nerves or make her feel any less restless.
Considering she had to really push herself to keep up with the senshi that bolted on ahead of her, clearly she wasn't the only one feeling the burn that evening.
Metis glanced about as she opened the door to the church once Themiscyra had confirmed this was the one. No bodies met her vision, and she motioned the Martian Page to follow her in. It was Themiscyra to had to take the lead from there, leading her through the pews and into an alcove that would allow them to keep an eye on two of the doors in the main room without being quickly visible themselves. Taking a seat beneath the dark stained glass window above them, Metis cocked her head towards the knight. "Why a church?" Not that she minded being in a church normally, but she felt uneasy being there powered up, glancing here and there to check for additional copper waves she couldn't otherwise attribute to the knight leaning against the wall beside her or other knight they were waiting for. A church was... far more public. This couldn't be safe. She'd thought maybe the knight knew of some more hidden rooms in the church, that perhaps she'd attended mass here and would know of areas they could collect in that would draw less attention.
They weren't sitting out in the open and, yes, it was quite warm and the incense smelt pleasant enough, but they were in a church. Anyone else could just walk in.
The knight leaned against a section of the wall that would allow her to keep an eye on the rest of the room, her outline giving a strange movement Metis decided must have been a shrug judging by the sound of her armor and toga moving. "Everything else is locked around here unless we wanted to break into something or stand out in the cold. Plus it's not super well lit in here--the pillars give some cover, too." Metis had already been aware of the massive structures that blocked waves from bouncing freely, but it was at least good to hear lighting wasn't the best. "And if anyone does see us... I figure it's better PR for so-called terrorists to be found in a church instead of in a building they obviously broke into." The knight had a definite smile on her words as she spoke, but Metis mused about this for a moment.
"I suppose I can't argue with that. I just... would prefer to not linger long." The figure beside her gave another movement though didn't bother to speak. Metis had to fight to keep herself from rolling her eyes. First she was too blind to cross the roofs. Now she apparently was able to perfectly see each body movement her companion made. She summed up the movement as a nod of agreement and left it at that.

She'd been told to meet at the church. Themi had mentioned someone named Metis, a super senshi who was blind. Andronicus had heard of her in passing, a thing that tended to happen when you kept to yourself most of the time. She knew a lot of people in passing but didn't actually know them specificially. Add into the complications with her memories of the future and it was a real crap shoot if Andronicus actually knew someone, or simply remembered them.
The idea of a blind senshi confused her, to a point. You had to be able to see to do things, right? But magic was magic and anything was possible.
Including her dropping from the eaves of the church because she could without breaking her legs. Being a Squire was awesome.
She breathed a sigh of relief at seeing Themiscyra whole and safe, and gave a wave of her hand. "You called? Also, a pleasure to finally meet you Metis," she said, directing the words at the senshi. Andronicus didn't really know if Metis could see her, or her movements, so she tried to project her voice in a way that could alert to it.
The woman was blind, not deaf.

She'd expected a Page. Themiscyra had been expecting a Page. It was not a Page signature that met her, and sure as ******** not the familiar uniformed Page she saw drop from the eaves to join them in the church proper. "I called? You used the ring and called me." Her voice was high with accusation, but it was the only cover she could scrape together last minute while her eyes were otherwise distracted by the.... new attire Andronicus was sporting. The metal and wind embellishments caught her eye without question, but her eyes got snagged traveling upward from her rather kickass boots and new armor pieces, to seeing the exposed stomach was still very much a thing.
The battle-orientated side of her mind bitched that was unprotected as ******** and she risked getting disemboweled by a Negaverse blade still. The I like seeing skin from certain people side of her mind was doing an all out celebration.
She wasn't entirely sure which to support vocally.
"You... are new," she finally got out. A lame, lame response. "Well ********. You look adorable in a dress and still pull off the kickass warrior in tight pants. I can't say I object to any of this." There we go. That was a more proper Danika response. Probably completely inappropriate but oh well. "And the new weapon? Is that seriously a thing with these upgrades?"
The fact Themiscyra's tone had drastically changed peaked Metis' interest without question. She'd listened intently to the woman's tone of voice as she'd addressed the new arrival--certainly a lot stronger than Themiscyra's own power level. She very much knew a breathless voice when she heard one, even when slathered over with other plays and ploys. Her lips turned up slightly, and by the time Themiscyra dished out what she could not think of as anything else than pick-up lines, Metis had to press a gloved hand to her lips to keep from laughing. She also felt like quite the intruder, and for a moment regretted having to interrupt their time together. The sooner she could leave however, surely meant the sooner the two could speak privately.
"The pleasure is mine, Andronicus," she greeted the knight cheerfully, placing her hands in her lap, nodding her head in the direction of the voice. "It sounds as if a congratulations is in order?" When Themiscyra questioned Andronicus about her weapon, Metis' smile turned slightly chiding. Someone seemed distracted. Or at the very least, putting priorities in the wrong order.
"I'm so sorry to interrupt, but Andronicus, could you please tell us what happened at the ball? We had to leave during the attack due to my parents--unless Themiscyra already updated you on everything." She paused while the figure of Themiscyra gave a small movement Metis once again was just left to assume was a head nod. "In that case, what did we miss?"
The name Andronicus on her tongue didn't... feel new. She wasn't entirely sure why--surely they hadn't met. She knew so few knights. Perhaps she was thinking of someone else? Or perhaps she'd encountered the place in a book... Or the memories that weren't quite memories. Everything was such a jumble, she didn't even attempt to bring it up. They'd met now, that was all that mattered.

The accusations sent a fit of giggles through the Squire. Andronicus gave a laugh as she very much watched the Mars Page squirm a little as she looked over her new gear. The pick up lines were nothing short of classic Themiscyra, and even with a face as red as a tomato (because, let's face it, she still wasn't sure where Themi and she stood on the whole... thing and she still was easily embarrassed by this) she flashed her a wide grin. Andronicus waggled her eyebrows in as suggestive of a manor as she possibly could, before turning to Metis.
"Thanks, saw a civilian get slammed into a wall and took action. Then this happened. The mace allows me to use magic, funnily enough." She snorted. "As for how it started, your guess is as good as mine. I went off to find punch and the next thing I know I'm waking up on a cot as people start running outside the door. I can tell you that Hver... Hver... Cosmos Knight with the spinel is taken. Kairatos too. I think I saw a Jupiter Knight with a rather oddly glowing Senshi surrender. Other than that there was too much fighting and running around. Definately the Negaverse though, with the amount of Chaos signatures in the building. Bunch of youma too."
She scratched her neck for a moment in thought. "That's about as much as I know. How I passed out is beyond me, coulda just been a passive thing. I don't know why they were taken, but whatever it is can't be good." Not necessarily the best explanation, but she had been knocked out for a good half an hour at least.
