The blue eyes half lidded sent a message of boredom, she was like a lazy black cat despite of the red hoodie vest ended above waist. The black heeled boots tapped against the floor as she took a lollipop out her mouth, a soft sigh escaped her cherry colored lips. She twisted the hairs near her cheek aimlessly, as if she was waiting for someone to show up.

Horace was walking aimlessly, hands shoved in his pockets. He sung softly as he walked, his baritone voice barely above a whisper. The latin words came smoothly, something he learned in choir. sicut cervus desiderat ad fontes aqu-. He paused, tilting his head. She was small, but pretty, just like a doll. "Hey," he said, song stilled for now. songs could wait when pretty girls were around. "You waiting for someone?"

The blue eyes that were half lidded rolled towards the direction of the boy who asked a question. "Was. I guess he stood me up again." The voice didn't contain any irritation or sadness, as if she already expected that to happen. "And you?" She shot him a glance, putting the unfinished lollipop back into her mouth.

He raised on eyebrow. "Again? You need a better boyfriend if that's the case. Or was it like a spar or something?" There was something strange about her - like... No, nothing. Horace rolled his shoulders. There were lots of people he'd never met on this island. But she looked dangerous, all lazy strength and as-yet unrealized energy. He shook his head. He was being silly, just projecting impressions of the other short hunters he'd met. Dangerous, the lot of them, hard hits behind sweet smiles. He returned her glance with a lazy smile. "Oh, doing nothing. Didn't have anything to do so I was just walking. Though I guess now I'm talking to you." For a second, he seemed lost in thought, and he was - weighing the pros and cons and possibilities. "You need a substitute?" Obviously, Horace couldn't sub in for a boyfriend, but for a spar, for something - he could help out. Hunters helped hunters, after all. "Oh, name's Horace, by the way." He stuck out his hand for a shake.

The assumption caused she to giggle frantically, the candy in her mouth nearly dropped. "Nah, not boyfriend, just a friend. That's the funniest joke I have ever heard though." In order to continue the talk, she crushed the lollipop. "Horace" she drawled, "It seems you won't bore me out if you can make me laugh, sadly you can't replace what I planned to do with my friend and it's not in a rush, let's forget that and do something interesting?" She waved her hand, as if it was something trivial. Her lazy blue eyes flashed with expectation.

He snorted. "Girl like you surely has one - this island's full of pretty girls, but they get snapped up like candy." And if she didn't have one, maybe she had a girlfriend or just... didn't want one. None of his business. He liked blondes, anyway, but it didn't stop him from appreciating her fair skin and feline grace. "Something interesting? I'm always up for that." It was true that his day recently had been read, read, spar, spar, read. He'd slipped fairly well into island life, he thought. Horace was enjoying it. Sure, there were bullies and horrible people, but it was better here. His voice drawled out to match hers. "I'm at your disposal. I will try oh, so hard not to bore you, miss mysterious." He hadn't missed that she gave no name, but he'd let her keep her anonymity for now. So, he waited, content to be led.

"You can call me whatever you want, name isn't important for me anyway." She smirked and tapped the floor with her boots. Just like Horace said, whether she had boyfriend or girlfriend was none of his business. The girl in hood didn't like hectic public places or strangers, she liked to tag along with a few people only, yet she was fine for general chat. An eyebrow was raised, "You're expecting me to be the one to provide the fun?" a bit of unbelieving tone added to the playful voice.

He sighed. "I guess it was too much to hope for to have the mysterious girl entertain me, huh, dollface." He folded his arms behind his head for a moment, thinking. "We could... go paint my dorm door, or bake a cake, or go drink of the roof, or not drink. It is, of course, at your discretion." He smiled artlessly at her, a lopsided thing that said he knew they weren't great ideas. "Or you could simply whack me and walk away. I'm afraid I ain't a creative man."

"That's rude, I won't do that." She immediately crossed out one of the options. "I prefer not to drink with people I met for the first time, you know, it's easy to have accidents." Second option was taken out. "If you don't mind I blow up the kitchen, we can go baking. If not, you know what's left." She grinned mischievously. "Also, I'm not that mysterious, I'm slow heating person and a bit afraid of strangers, thus~ avoiding public places with my best. Dollface's just fine, if I'm creative, I won't get bored that easily. Lead the way handsome." The girl tiled her head and smiled, seemed to be satisfied for the nickname which seemed to be a compliment.

"Accidents, hm. You're telling me." Though he couldn't really call Al an accident - he'd definitely wanted to sleep with the other guy. Horace had just been so unsure of himself. But he had Jan, had him. And he was, in turn Jan's. Horace's grin turned a little loopy, a little dreamy. Abruptly, he realized he was woolgathering. "Of course, Dollface - let's bake a cake fit for kings!' - To be honest, Horace had only made a few cakes in his life and only had one recipe memorized. Italian coconut cream cake, but it was a spongey cake that he was sure he cold adapt. He had managed to wheedle some ingredients out of a tech - he wasn't sure how, exactly. Maybe he exuded enough of a wounded puppy look? The woman had seemed very motherly. By similar vein (and the fact that the cafeteria had pretty much no one in it), he had secured an oven. "So, what kind do you wanna make?" He grinned and tossed her a pack of butter. They were probably going to get flour everywhere.

The abnormality made the girl smiled, eyes lidded slightly when they shifted to him. In order to call his mind back, " Don't you tell me accident have happened on you already" it should be a question, but she was smirking. " Or nearly." So when he said something totally unrelated she didn't comment on that. --------- Evaluating this hunter she met randomly, she was startled when he picked baking. Baking, jeez. Who will pick it when told the kitchen will be blown up? What's more, if she knew he didn't know how to bake very well - like a certain Death housewife or the blonde Sun, he will be rewarded an eye roll. Stupid enough. She was forced to bake a cake. " Where do you get those?" Instead of answering his question, she asked, idly catching the butter. Waited for a while, she smiled. " Any kind you know the recipe of, handsome baker." To be honest, she enjoyed the result much better than the process, she loved desserts. " I'll be your assistant."

He grinned rakishly (or tried, he probably wasn't as good at it as he thought). "The lady stationed here right now and I get along. Oh, do you know how to make frosting, at least?" By get along, Horace meant he traded novels with her and flirted harmlessly. "Mmm, earlier you mentioned accidents. I sort of had one." He shifted the dry ingredients together, a fine whiteness dusting his sweater. "But even drunkness isn't an excuse - so I'm more careful now. It helps that I worked things out with my guy." He arched one brow and looked at her, gaze sweeping from head to toe. "Why, have you had accidents, dollface?" Meegane im sorry it went so domestic idk

"Why are you using plural form?" Drawling, a blaming eyebrow raised, targeted at Horace, returned the body scan. "Do I look like someone as careless as to make mistakeS again and again?" Yet, she was smiling upwards. Shifting to have another hand supporting her head, "Guy, you said? You like guys and already got yourself a handsome? That's impressive, Horace~!" The blue gem-like eyes spirited, flashed with interest as she complimented, silently asked him to tell more. "Wanna have a drink later?" she playfully joked, like a little mischievous pixie, "so that we can test your ability?" Finally she lazily shrugged and answered the more healthier and related topic. "If you have the list-up procedures for me to follow, I guess I could do that." Then, she hit the table lightly to raised her feline body up, "Instructions please~" The Semblance of Unity Recalling my Home Economics class rn, I'll make it less domestic 8D

"Hmm," he said, cocking one hip. "I dunno, but you definitely look like a girl who leads others to accidents." Pretty face with an air of mystery or perhaps a hard-to-get demeanor? Oh yeah - she was a road to wreck and ruin. "And I like both, dollface. Just snagged myself a nice guy right off. Pale, pale skin, blond, eyes as blue as glaciers... ********, he's perfect." Horace trailed off. Jan wasn't perfect and Horace knew that, but maybe, just maybe Jan was perfect for him. Horace just had to stop being so insecure. He pointed a whisk at her. "We can drink, but nothing will happen unless you like hugs. Oh, and I don't have a recipe written down - it's all in my head." He looked her up and down. "Girl with your looks doesn't bake? Alas. Lemme find a piece of paper." He dragged out his notebook and jotted things down before realizing he'd written it in shorthand. Crossing it out, he rewrote it before tearing out the page and sliding it to her.

" It depends on what kind." A chuckle escape, she enjoyed the word game. What he continued to say made her laugh harder, " Horace, you are cuter than I thought. You sound like a princess describing her wonderful Prince. Now I want to see your Mr. Right." She swirled idly with the whisk he handed her. The blue eyes rolled for his reply, " By ability, I mean staying conscious. Hmm, I'm not sure if I like hugs, but we will see." Cute and too gullible. A finger waggled at his judging glimpse, " No stereotyping, boy. If you assume someone by their covers, you'll taken advantage of - handily. Besides, I never tell you I can bake." The glance was returned. The paper received was taken and skimmed, " Glad that you didn't give me that one, I have no ability in deciphering." Her lips turned upwards, eyes rolled between the paper and the ingredients and started her part. " Let's talk more about your Mr. Right, I hope you can multi-tasking." She drawled, mixing and beating stuff was boring and repetitious, she needed something more. The Semblance of Unity I went to read frosting reciper and drooled you to blame :/
