The colorful mare stretched her back, raising her head up towards the sky. The afternoon sun glistened off of her pink hide, making her almost glow in the light as she moved side to side, stretching fully. She had just finished a very pleasing run and was breathing just a little heavier than normal, though she was calming down as she stretched. She missed the spring flowers, the bright colors wafting in the breeze. Still, she didn't mind the winter so long as it wasn't too cold.
She walked over to the stream and drank deeply. She was parched from the run and from the dry air of winter. She shook her fur violently, shivering from head to hoof with the cold water. She looked up at the sky again, gauging where the sun was. "It's only midday," she said to the wind with a sigh. She was becoming bored.

It was a pleasant day, just warm enough to not send chills down her spine, but just cold enough to give the air a delightful, crisp freshness that seemed to bolster her body with energy. Soon the heart of winter would set in, snow would blanket the ground and all the wildlife would hide themselves away in their little burrows to await the coming spring. But not yet, for now there was still time.
Timbira trotted forwards towards the stream with a happy grin on her face. While normally she would have been far more calm and reserved, wary even, she couldn't help the bursting smile from escaping. It was all that stallion's fault, Dathúil. With his smooth words and self-confident nature, the mare couldn't help but start to feel something for her good friend. It was true that he wouldn't be around for long, he was a traveller, but that short amount of time had been enough for him to steal away her heart. She refused to consider how she would feel after he left, that was a problem for the future. For now, she was stuck, prancing around giddily like the love-struck mare that she was.

Phail Ninja Sorry for the long wait! Ack! School and such! ' It wasn’t difficult for Glitter to spot the other mare approaching the stream, not that she was making any secret of her approach. She was just as colorful as Glitter herself, which made the mare smile despite herself. It reminded her of her daughter’s last visit and the way she had looked trotting up to her all grown up and glowing and announcing her pregnancy. For a moment her heart ached for her children and the grandchildren they brought her. All were grown and out living their lives and she could hardly fault them for that. She’ll just have to chastise them when she saw them next about not visiting her enough.
She rose her head and couldn’t help the smile that spread wide across her face at the sight of the other mare. She was grinning from ear to ear- the look of someone quite smitten – and it was infectious. It brought to mind all of the warm feelings she got when she thought about her daring and colorful mate, Quinn. Ah how much she enjoyed his company! She thought back to their courtship with fondness. “Why hello there,” she called out pleasantly as she took a few steps towards the stranger. She didn’t want to appear threatening or too forward, so she stopped a respectful distance away, her expression open and happy. “You have the look of a mare in love! I hope I’m not out of line in saying so, but you are simply radiant in happiness!”
