                                                  Established in 2347 CE, Bostrom was a completely man-made landmass built in honor of the peace between the Escala people and humans. From the northernmost coast of California, a bridge leads to the city built with steady foundations leading directly west. 2390 was the year that Bostrom became the capitol city for the Galactic Republic, also as the base of operations for the government and the official command center for the planet Earth. It supports a population of 25.218 million people. Many of the wealthier citizens reside in their tall towers as a sign of superiority while the lower class reside below, exposed to the most but not too much crime due to the enforcers only capable of managing only the middle-class and above at a tolerable level. It retains a surprisingly low crime rate.

~Monica Sforza~

Once Monica was outside the club, she walked towards the lab. Her coworker was excited about a discovery she made and wanted to tell her all about it. She was excited to learn about it as well. She only knew it had something to do with the God Particle. The Physics community has been studying these particles for centuries and only started to fully understand them. Finally, her coworker had come up with something they could use in everyday life. It was just a matter of time, now.

"Hey, Gina! How was the rest of you day?" She asked as she walked into the lab. "Hey, Monica! After my discovery, things just got quiet but in a good way." Gina replied with a smile. "Anyway, I have discovered something that will revolutionize everything we know and advance our technology even more." She said excitedly as she walked with Monica to the conference table. "I have some big surprises to tell you." She said as she slipped a memory drive into Monica's pocket without anyone knowing, including Monica. "Once my presentation is over, you will see a lot of things in a new way." She said as she walked over to the window and looked out over the city. She knew that it probably was not a good idea, but if she acted unusual, people would be asking unwanted questions. If she started to act paranoid too soon, the other might not believe her.

                                                  In the distance was a skyscraper of appropriate height—appropriate for an accurate shot that was. For the unsuspecting woman who believed she was discreet enough, she unfortunately wasn’t, and she’d soon come to realize the consequences of her unwelcomed curiosity.

                                                  And whom else would be her executioner than a man notorious for his accuracy? Her position was centered on the rectangle of glass. In the neighboring building, the contract killer had already settled himself at the roof, his finger on the rifle, the rifle on held firmly on the tactical bipod, lying down comfortably for the shot. For the time she spent waiting for the others to enter, he’d been getting into the proper position, sitting idle until she was closest to the glass. In that one dark moment, the price to pay would surface, her life because she dared glance into a room just one week prior.

                                                  In that single moment of tranquil silence and stillness, when she gazed out at the beautiful marvel that was the city, the bullet pierced the glass, effortlessly embedding itself into her skull, having entered the center of her forehead. Her body collapsed, first to her knees before her head abruptly struck the glass and then caused her to fall leftward. Just moments before, a lively woman was gazing out into the city, and now she was a cadaver, resting lifelessly onto the cold floor, blood trickling out of the hole.

                                                  After the others realized she’d been shot, a spread of panic came, lowering their heads and crouching in case they were next. However, no bullets came; the target was neutralized, and the job was done. What seemed to be a tragic murder in their eyes was simply pocket money for him; just about anyone with enough skills as a sniper could’ve done the same job, the only difference was that they couldn’t afford any chances of failure, and one man in particular was renowned for his success. With his objective complete, he took the rifle and swung it over his shoulder, strapped comfortably, and used his jetpack to aviate away from their parameters; an ambulance and police were due, though the police themselves would find less motivation to look deeper into the case, and the medical staff would lack incentive to truly rescue her; they weren’t under honest payroll because the death was clearly planned. While the majority would’ve been too distracted, there could’ve been the slightest opportunity that someone could’ve seen him aviating away from the site.

~Monica Sforza~

Monica was getting her paperwork ready for the presentation when the shot was heard. Naturally, she ducked and looked in the direction it came from. To her dismay, Gina fell to the ground, and she crawled over to the body. She looked at her coworker with horror when she saw the bullet wound in her head. She looked back out the window and noticed that the building next door would have been the perfect place to make the shot. She crawled to the door, opened it, crawled out into the hall, close the door, and stood up. As she dusted herself off, she felt something in her pocket. She knew what it was by the feel of it, so she decided to leave it in her pocket. Gina must have slipped it in when no one was looking.

She quickly left the building. She had to get home and look what was on that memory drive. She had a horrible feeling that it had something to do with what just happened. However, she knew that she had to check out the neighboring building. Whatever evidence that might have been left behind, if any, would be gone if she would come the next day.

She knew that she had to be quick about it. The cops were coming, and they probably would want to ask her some questions. However, it would be redundant because she did not know anything, and she was not going to surrender this memory drive, especially when she did not even know what was on it.

She rushed into the building, but she could have sworn that she saw a familiar face in the crowd outside. It was that guy from the club, but she brushed it off, not knowing that he was involved in the current events.

She found the floor that the shooter must have been one and searched all over for anything. However, there was nothing. She was dealing with a real professional assassin. She just sighed and made her way back to the ground floor and saw that the cops finally left. She left the building and walked home.

User ImageKahley was alone-she hadn't seen Talia or Gwen for a while. She was actually kinda starting to miss Gwen them. That food hadn't been half bad, really. She hadn't liked having to say goodbye to them. They're like sisters, almost. Their father is weird, though, so she didn't miss them. She wandered around the city, just looking around. She hadn't lived in a big city on her planet. She had lived in a more of a smalltown-where-everyone-knows-everyone, and she had liked it, but she liked this new planet. More to do, even if she is considered a short teenager....? Right? In Earth-speaking? She stopped on a sidewalk to just look around. The places were so big, it was almost unreal. Sure, the buildings and houses she grew up at were up high, but they were up high, not big. There's a difference.

Bad intro post. Sorry...also it didn't quote me last time you posted in OOC. Lucky I checked anyways.

Ceto
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It wasn't the same. That perplexing thought chased its way around the female's mind as Ceto pranced around yet another stranger's legs.. Ignoring the startled gasp that followed as the man noticed her odd appearance. Certainly she was used to it at this point, having slipped out of the Genesis labs alone this morning and immediately inciting a small uproar among those walking the street.. Flooding her senses with the bitter taste of fear as each scampered out of her path. Good thing too, considering how quickly she had fled blindly from their assaulting smells and noise.. She'd been in a full panic before she could help it.
A lot of good that had done her.. It had been instinctive to run for the quietest place, to recover from the sensory overload and regain her control.. Unfortunately every time she found somewhere 'decent' something large or loud would startle her into another mad dash. Now, hours later, she was hopelessly lost in this strange place.. exhausted and hungry. As if reminding her of this her stomach gave a vicious grumble, the creature's delicately finned ears drooping as she wearily came to a halt on the sidewalk. Dropping her head low Ceto felt her sore paws tremble, her tail falling limply to the ground as she closed her eyes tightly. There were less people here, less offenses to badger her fragile senses.. But it didn't stop her stomach from growling again, this time earning a low keening whine from the female as she simply sat down where she had stood, Ceto wrapping her tail around herself tightly as if to comfort herself. This place.. didn't look anything like the City she'd looked down upon from the Tower's window..
User ImageKahley noticed an alien. Well, yes Kahley's not human either, but like, this person/thing is really an alien alien. Like, they don't look human. She watched the alien curiously. Also, it looks weird! Lookit! She ignored the fact that you aren't supposed to stare and stared anyways. She's mentally 8. This' what kids do. She was unintentionally focused on the alien, and heard its stomach growl. "Ayoure gyruhn?" she asked it, not sure if it understood Laholian, or if it spoke English, or even what species it was. It looks cool, though!
OOC
She said 'are you hungry?' It's not in the translations. Though I assume with her (somewhat-poor) language skills (aka kid grammar) it makes sense. The direct translation would actually be "You are hungry?"
Ceto
Lost so in her thoughts it took a moment to register the feminine voice nearby, Ceto almost dismissing the foreign noise.. If not for the obvious curiosity that radiated from the speaking stranger's scent. Lifting her head she slowly swept her gaze towards the source of that voice, her fur actually fluffing a little in surprise as she unintentionally locked stares with the inquisitive creature. Human..? A soft sniff told her no, that this was something else.. But whatever species this girl was she clearly didn't mean Ceto any harm. That was a welcome change considering the morning she'd had..
On tender paws the Nereids shifted in place until she could turn her head directly towards the girl, cocking it to the side in silent question as her front paws kneaded the ground nervously. She was having so much trouble learning of the Human culture that the study of the alien species and their languages were simply beyond her understanding for now.. She could understand the emotions behind the words, if the girl touched her, but it wasn't quite the same. So.. She reached out, slipping a mental thread towards the girl in an attempt at telepathy with her. " .. Not understanding, this.. tongue is strange."
(( I see, thank you for translating. 3nodding ))
User ImageKahley the Eight (And a Half) Year Old watched the alien, still curious. 'What is it?' she wondered. Her attention was taken away as she heard a voice. In her head. "Ah. Sorry," she said quietly. "Then, not many people do here...." she propped up her head using her arms glumly. "Are you hun-gwy?" she asked, pausing at the essential word to make sure it was correct. Though her r came out wrong.
