Name: Zoraida
Race: Mixed: 1/2 shifter, 1/4 alkidike, 1/4 Ice (willing to change this a little if needed*
Gender: Girl
3 Base Traits: Determined, light hearted, klutzy
Personality:This poor hybrid is quite the klutz. Ever since she was born she had had problems walking, and didn't even start walking until a while after most her age would have been running. Fortunately, she has a high pain tolerance so when she pushes herself to practice dances, she can take quite a few falls before she stops practicing for the day. While it is a definite disadvantage for a girl who is part shifter and alkidike, she tries as hard as possible to make it a positive. Zora knows that it could possibly keep her from becoming a dancer like her mother, but that just makes her work all that much harder.
Zoraida is a determined young woman as she's not one to give up easily. She's learned, especially being klutzy, that if you keep trying for it, you have a better chance of achieving whatever it is you want! Sure it can get discouraging, but she knows that it'll all work out.
She doesn't take things to heart very easily. As she aspired to be a dancer which some would scoff at the klutz, she could hardly do more than one or two steps before tripping, oddly enough, she trips like 10x more when she tries to dance than when she does anything else. It earned her a lot of laughter. But she doesn't let that discourage her either. Her determination helps, but the way she looks at it, is even if she isn't achieving what she wants, if she's making some one laugh, even if its at her, then its worth it.
Description: Concept ArtEyes: bright yellow from Ice earthlings, average sized, almond shaped
Skin: Turquoise of the Ice earthlings, but darker because of the shifter.
Hair: Silver like Shifters, long and wavy, long bangs that are swept to the side,
like this, but the bottom portion should fall over both shoulders. She has long thin eyebrows
Markings/Tattoos: Like in the image, except could the lines be thinner, dainty looking, and taper off towards her temples more instead of such an abrupt stop. These will be a few shades darker than her skin, but still relatively light looking and go from the forehead, down the bridge of the nose, and stop at the tip. Other markings on the body are CC as long as they seem cohesive.
Stones/Gems: A mixture of shifter and Ice stones, though the Ice are noticeably smoother that most. I'd like some on her cheekbones, going up towards her temples and the others around her body to accentuate the alkidike markings. ALL the stones are CC, if the artist doesn't think they look good where I imagine them then by all means change it up. <3
Ears: Ears can be either like Alkidike or Ice, whichever!
Clothing: I would like something similar to the image, but if not then something that would be appropriate for a dancer. While she aspires to be one as a prentice, she'll change her path, but I would still like her to look the part as a prentice.
Accessories: Woven braclets on both wrists, as well as some on her ankles, various colors, some with little trinkets hanging from them. Even though she's not the greatest dancer, she likes to look the part!
History: Born to shifter mother, Raila, and hybrid(Alkidike/Ice) Father Soren, life wasn't exactly easy for their young hybrid daughter. Raila was a dancer when she met her husband Soren and quickly stole the hybrid's heart. However, there were prejudices among Raila's family, even in Raila herself. It took a little while to win her heart, but Soren did. Leaving her closed minded family, they went and started a family of their own. They were fairly worried when their daughter took longer than other younglings her age to start walking and even increasingly so when it was discovered that their daughter had an issue with balance. It never stopped them from loving her, especially once they found out that her pain tolerance was high so it wasn't painful to her.
When she was old enough to start thinking about what she wanted to do for her life, Zoraida admitted to her parents that she wanted to be a dancer like her mother. The couple shared a sad look, both knowing that to become a professional dancer, their daughter would need a lot of work. But they accepted that, and worked with her as much as they could to try and help her dream come true. The parents knew it was unlikely, but they would let their little one come to that conclusion or would tell her when she would be ready to hear it.
The artistic family fled north when the Oban invasion started, taking their daughter as far away from the war as possible. They hid there, in norther Juahar, and then even moving to Tale when they got word that the Obans were taking a large amount of land in the southern portion. Now that the war is over and peace has somewhat returned to decimated Juahar, they return to their home. As Zoraida is of an age to do as she wishes, they let her go with worried looks as she wanted to go off and see if there was anything she could do to help or cheer people up or quite possibly even find another dancer to work with!
